i seem to be missing a texture: "textures\gm_bookcases\issgard\actors\beastskeletons\isgard_beastskeletons.dds" for the "argonianskull" trishape in the nif: "GM_winterholdbookcase01C.nif"
Such a great mod! Adds a lot to the immersion. Thank you so much for this.
I'm currently modding my game again. Having lots of fun. I'm using Visualize Vanilla for my OCD. I noticed that the bookshelves seem to be filling with 'Vanilla' books. The scrolls, candles, and skulls all seem to be using modded versions of those assets.
I have Book Covers Skyrim, Books of Skyrim, Book Unity and Revamp Project (BURP), Book Unity and Revamp Project - Spell Tomes (BURPST), Kanjs Books Animated AIO, and Rally's Burned and Ruined Books.
Anyways, love the mod. Would be cool if it filled the shelves with the modded books. It's more of a visual thing. Doesn't have to be what's actually in there.
That would add a LOT of tris to the nifs, so when there are multiple bookcases, lik in college of Winterhold, u would probably see a significant drop in fps.
that said, i may consider it as a “use at your own risk” option :)
I am really enjoying your latest snazzy furniture (wardrobes, etc.), especially this one. It looks a hundred times better than the old bumpy green glass bookshelves. I'm using the clear glass optional texture and it's just heaven. This is what the bookshelves should've looked like all along. They're beautiful!
Dear Gutmanw, thanks for the mod and all the updates! Just a small thing... in sw development is 1.1 < 1.03. What you wanted to do is 1.10 > 1.03. A little confusing when updating. :D
This is one I ran into all the time when customizing the song lists for stations in Fallout 4's Old World Radio stations. As the song files needed renaming into numerical order, specifically #.xwm naming format, if you tried 1, 2, 3, 4, etcetera you would end up with 1, 11, 12, 13, to 19, 2, 21 and so on ad nauseum. (I cannot believe I had to add that word to Grammarly...)
The way to beat that silliness was to have it numbered as 01, 02, 03, 04, and so on as the ordering system looked at the first digit and put those before 10, saving many headaches. Likewise, as in this case, you need to put the zero in back to indicate tens, behind a decimal point or not.
so I used a couple high poly stuff like skulls and quill...maybe that was a bit overkill and I can replace with low poly vanilla clutter? May be worth the tradeoff...
I'm not receiving any loss in frames from this mod and was wondering if gades28 was using Obscure's as that mod adds many, many more bookcases in the Arcanaeum.
I have the base college without modification. But I added more npcs like followers. But just adding this mod has a huge impact as there are like +10 bookcases in the library.
The issue isn't really the polys but the number of 'shapes' the bookshelves are expanded to that multiplies out into additional draw calls that will cripple your fps past a certain point depending on your CPU. Perhaps GM could combine books that have the same cover, etc. into one shape which would cut down the count significantly.
So in V1.1 I did some major mesh optimization on the books without reducing quality...cut down draw calls by 70% and polys by 20%. Will help a lot with FPS!!
Ugh, the 2nd floor bookcases are custom, so they'd need to be completely remade from scratch. The first floor bookcases are imbedded into the walls, so entirely new wall meshes with holes in them would need to be made. I love LotD, but I don't see this happening unfortunately :(
