Hearthfire houses are finished quickly and without much effort. I set out to change that by creating artificial scarcity.

I've always felt unsatisfied after building Hearthfire houses.
They're finished quickly and without much effort, and there's no need to go far to find materials. I set out to change that by creating artificial scarcity.
Changes:
This seems like a small change, but with some recipes (cellar, anyone?) it hits hard.
You'll have to travel to different merchants now, and you may want to consider traveling to gather and craft materials yourself.
Hint: If you're worried about where to store all these materials in the meantime, the building chest has no weight limit.
This mod does not touch the price you need to pay to the stewards to obtain the land.
Additional Plugins:
I've added two additional plugins to complement this mod.
"No Free Hearthfire Materials" is for those who don't want Hearthfire to be grindy, but don't want free materials.
This specific plugin is an edit of the main plugin, and therefore you should not/cannot use them together.
"Grindy Hearthfire - Trophies" brings this mod's effects to Hearthfire's trophies, making them require 50 animal parts per trophy.
You can and probably should use this plugin alongside the main plugin, as the latter doesn't touch trophies.

- All crafting requirements (except trophies) for building Hearthfire house parts and furniture are multiplied by two.
- Crafting nails now creates 5 instead of 10.
- Hinges, fittings and locks require 2 ingots instead of 1.
- You do not get free crafting materials in the chest anymore.

- This mod was built on a downgraded (1.5.97) version of Skyrim SE.
- This mod only edits "Constructible Object" records and the "Container" record for the crafting chest. No quests or scripts were changed.
- I forwarded changes made by USSEP, but this mod doesn't require it.
- At this time, I don't know if you need to start a new game.
