About this mod

This mod intends to use mechanics from Campfire (required), the best of "Ineed" (required) and AE "Survival Mode" (required), along with my own tweaks, changes, additions, and eliminations, resulting in a more satisfying and in-depth survival experience than what is offered otherwise with any of the above. See long description for more details.

Changelogs
*The hunger system from Ineed has been converted to a category called "nourishment". (Nourishment will somewhat go hand in hand with hunger, they will not directly coincide, but generally both will usually be in the same ballpark, nonetheless it will be possible to be "full", for example, while not necessarily well nourished, or vice versa). If you become severely malnourished, you will begin to see a health drain by the second until death if you neglect to eat.

*The thirst system from Ineed is kept pretty much intact the way it comes from the original mod, other than the fact that I have integrated the same type of health drain by the second if you become extremely dehydrated from neglecting to drink.

*The hunger system from AE survival mode will be utilized as the primary hunger system here, but has been reworked. You can no longer eat endless amounts of food without becoming over full. If you overeat, you will become "over-satiated" and will receive penalties to your movement speed, and your stamina regeneration. It is a 35% penalty to your movement speed, and 75% penalty to your stamina regeneration. Also if you neglect to eat for a long time you will become starving, which once again will bring a health drain by the second until death. Also the amount of hunger points provided by the different foods has been completely changed, now the smallest amount of hunger points for the smallest foods is 10 points (as opposed to 2 points), and the largest is 120 points (as opposed to 380). This brings better balance between Small foods and large foods, and gets rid of the silly aspect of having to eat 50 consecutive apples to get full. This reworking of The hunger system was inspired by my experience on legendary Skyrim using the mod called realistic needs and diseases, in particular I always liked the overeating penalty.

*The cold system from AE survival mode will be utilized, but has been tweaked and adjusted. You will get colder faster than the vanilla version. Also, rain and snow will now "matter", as opposed to how they were ignored by the cold system before, this mod will utilize a variation of the systems introduced by my own mods "wet matters" and "snow matters" mods, meaning that when you are in the rain you will become wet and your armor's warmth rating will be penalized (by 100) and also you will get a bit colder (50 points) and then when you are in the snow your body temperature will be penalized (by 100 points), and also your armor's warmth rating will be penalized (by 50). This reworking of the cold system is an attempt to bring us a bit closer to the experience brought by the classic mod, Frostfall (but without the use of any scripts).

*Sleep/Exhaustion - the sleep system from Ineed will be utilized here, while the sleep system from survival mode AE will be essentially deactivated. You will not die directly from lack of sleep, but of course neglecting to sleep will bring penalties which could indirectly put your well-being at risk.

*Other tidbits...

*I've added what I consider to have been "missing status"s previously. For example, with the thirst system (from Ineed), previously you could be well hydrated, or you could be slightly thirsty, but if you were in between these, you would see no active effect at all when you look in your active effects. I did not like that, so I have added a category called "Not Thirsty", so that now whenever you look in your active effects you will always see what your current "Thirst" status is, even if you are not thirsty. There were a couple other needs categories with similar scenarios, so I believe I've added total of three of these so-called "missing statuses" to fill in gaps so that the end result is that you can always expect to see a status for each category of your needs in your active effects at any given time.

*I've added a few of my own custom "ingestibles", "Crushed Garlic" (can be eaten directly to boost the immune system, or used as an ingredient), "Garlic Honey (medicinal)" can be created at a cookpot with crushed garlic mixed with honey, to cure disease. Jazbay meal, Juniperberry meal, and Snowberry Meal, are all just "ingestible" versions of their "ingredient" counterparts (but you have to have at least 3 of the ingredient version to put together as one small "meal version" to eat).

*Tweaked (and added a bunch more) Campfire recipes to convert random wooden objects into kindling for fires.

*Made it so that you can still make a large fire without large wood (AKA, with kindling) if you have enough of it.

*Added creation Club foods to the formID lists from iNeed so that these foods will be properly recognized.

*Added an effect of "healing" (2 points per second) when you sit at your own made fire (fire needs to be at least big enough to cook with).

*Added a general health regeneration (0.07 points per second, as opposed to 0.00 on AE Survival Mode), which fixes the annoying "disappearing health bar" issue, and also is more realistic, as people do heal naturally in real life, just very slowly.

I think that covers most of it, probably a few things I'm forgetting.

In sum, this mod is a product of the fact that as I have been reworking and tweaking the different survival aspects of my own game, it has gotten to a point now where I am actually becoming somewhat satisfied with it, so I thought I would try to put it together in the form of a mod that I could share with others. I'm sure it's far from perfect, but I do believe that it is a drastic improvement over what the creation club/AE has come up with. And, as with all my mods, this is extremely lightweight and there is no use of additional scripts being added to the game so stability should be a major strength. (It's also possible that I've missed things or messed something up in the process of converting all this from my own game into it's own plugin to upload here, so please share feedback, whether good or bad, to let me know how it's working and/or if anything needs fixing!)

Thank you,
~dan (tcbflash)

Technical NOTES -

REQUIREMENTS =
1) Campfire - Complete Camping System (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/667)

2) iNeed - Food Water and Sleep (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/645)

Regarding iNeed...You don't need "extended", just the core iNeed. (I'm not familiar with extended, but it would probably require patches to work with survival mode, regardless of my mod)

Here's what you put in data, from iNeed...
iNeed - Textures.bsa (4.2 MB)
iNeed.bsa (3.6 MB)
iNeed.esp (306.7 kB)

3) Skyrim AE

*If you already have any of my Wet Matters or Snow Matters mods, it would be best to remove those from your load order when adding this mod, as they are built into this and may stack or be otherwise incompatible. ALSO, if you use my "No Disappearing Health Bar" mod, same thing, as that mechanic is also built into this mod.

*Campfire MCM - recommend "Realistic" setting for campfire building.

*Recommended MCM tweaks for iNeed when using this mod...

EDIT 2023-08-01...

Update from v1.4 to v1.5...

* Created an "ESL Flagged" version.

* No more edits to Player "Prisoner" [NPC_:00000007]
(this will ensure no more conflicts with other mods and/or other complications that arise from editing this record)

* Added "Cooked Boar Meat" to heavy foods list to be recognized properly.

* Added "Ash Hopper Leg" to raw foods list to be recognized properly.

* Added "Ash Yam" to light foods list to be recognized properly.

* Added "Garlic Honey (medicinal)" to light foods list to be recognized properly.

* Added Hot steaming dwemer pipe to list of objects to warm up at.

* You now warm up more SLOWLY at heat sources (more realistic).

* You now get colder in cold weather a bit slower than last update (I think I went too drastic in 1.4, now pulled back a bit).

* Max "warmth" (insulation) rating recognized changed from 200 to 400 (so you can put up a fair fight vs the cold if you wear warm apparel).

* Fixed some top-left popup messages when temperature changes.

* Starving to death or dying of thirst (health drain) won't kick in if you haven't escaped Helgen yet.

* Tweaked well-nourished buff/description.
