This patch makes it so followers don't take damage from the spells of Darenii's Stellaris, and adds a few minor tweaks while staying as close to the original as possible.


  • Neutral individuals such as hold guards, civilians, khajiit caravan merchants, etc., will continue to take damage from most of these spells. However, followers will not sustain any damage from them, though they may still verbally react to the sheer forces of some of the more bombastic spells.
  • A couple of spells (Astral Star and Astral Epicentre) have been further altered to only deal damage to enemies where it logically makes sense for them to do so. For example, Astral Epicentre has the visual effect of trails leading from the targets of the spell back to the player, giving the feeling that the player character has greater control over it and thus would reasonably be able to keep it from harming their allies.
    Likewise, Astral Star feels like a more moderated version of Astral Core, and is of high-enough tier in the magic school to explain the player character having gained enough experience/control over this magic to avoid damaging their allies with it.
  • Astral Star Detonation now deals DPS as it was described to in the original mod page. As it feels like a wild, nigh uncontrollable spell in usage, the best that the player character can do in terms of mitigating damage is keep it from harming their immediate followers. Everyone else is fair game for the destruction.
  • Astral Fusion and Astral Recovery now respectively have double and triple the range of effect for one's allies, so that the player character doesn't have to get in their way as much to heal them in the heat of battle, and so they have a greater chance to heal multiple followers at once if they have them.


This file is marked esp-fe. To properly experience its effects, make sure you allow StellarisNoFollowerDamage.esp to overwrite Stellaris.exp in your load order.
