Some people had 'fixed' this before by deleting or hiding wrjovaskrbanner01.nif from Detailed Rugs; don't do that, it breaks the Companions banner (see last screenshot above).
This should also prevent this issue for any other mods that repurpose the same banner mesh.
The plugin is ESP-FE, load order shouldn't matter. Make sure the meshes load after/below Detailed Rugs (overwrite if asked).
raiserfx - feel free to do whatever with the patch if you want to.
Details if anyone wants to know: the Detailed Rugs mesh for the Companions banner deletes one of the BSTriShapes (the vanilla fringe), so any other banner using that mesh with an alternate texture would need to set the 3D index from 2 -> 1 to still look right, although with that method the new banner would still be missing the fringe. Instead I moved the Detailed Rugs mesh to its own file name (wrjovaskrbanner01_DR.nif) and included the vanilla wrjovaskrbanner01.nif mesh to overwrite the default Detailed Rugs mesh. The plugin is needed to redirect the Companions banner to use the new _DR file name. That way the Companions banner still looks as intended, but everything else is unaffected.
thanks so much for this! i deleted the nif file before reading this comment also and seeing the patch - got the patch working and everything works great! much appreciated
I'm not entirely sure why, but this mod makes the banners outside at the bottom of the Jorrvaskr steps the error red/white triangles for me. I use Wrye, and it tells me that the only conflicts are with SMIM, ELFX and Noble Skyrim, with the below files. I love the textures, and so far, that's the only place I've noticed the error. Any thoughts?
Just in case anyone else happens to see these posts - the mods mentioned above confilct with almost everything! When you choose to use those 3 mods you are severely limiting your options on using other mods. Ruins clutter improved is not needed if you use SMIM and Skyrim HD.
JK's, RDO, CRF, ELFX, etc. - these are not really "mods" but giant overhauls. Most mods make improvements or changes to a very narrow set of things and mostly just in one catagory, i.e., dialogue change, new meshes for Rugs, new textures, new Armor, changes to 1 NPC, a new follower, changes to one quest, etc. These giant overhauls change all kinds of stuff across multiple "catagories". Which is why each one of those mods has coutnless numbers of patches and fixes, and pages dedicated to more patches - and patches to fix those patches... And a giant list, albeit it a sorely incomplete list, of mods that are incompatible.
So if you want what someone else thinks is better, with no real options to change mid game, and you want to let those mod authors dictate what you can and cant do, go ahead and use those overhauls. But if you actually want to "mod" and want to make the game look, act and feel the way you want - do not use those mods.
I have over 350 mods and very few, if any, of them have any serious conflict with other mods - I also do not use those overhauls.
Image of the Error same problem but with jks skyrim + detailed rugs... fixed it by removing this file: Detailed Rugs\meshes\architecture\whiterun\wrclutter\wrjovaskrbanner02.nif
Are the SMIM textures that are included, necessary? I've got some updated ones that are being overwritten by these and was wondering if I can just delete them out.
Yeah i've got SMIM and I've got Rustic Furniture by Gamwich. I was just making sure I could remove the SMIM textures from this mod without any issue. I appreciate the quick response. As always, wonderful mod.
Yeah I never forsaw me downloading this thinking "oh, it's just gonna take away from fps". But, I realized I look at the floor more often than I should. Took the gamble and it's worth it especially after upgrading other textures! LOL, rug detail makes a difference and it didn't cost fps drop. Winning! Endorsed. Thanks!
I have checked them they look identical to me, i let DetailedRugs overwrite SMIM (i have actually deleted the smim meshes since they really looks the same to me) and as you can see it seems to be all ok, nothing strange on my side...
The meshes in exam are the table and the tablecloth
So in your case you should click "Yes" to let DetailedRugs overwrite SMIM and get the same result as mine in this images.
If you click "No" SMIM meshes would be used instead but i doubt visually this makes some difference since, as i said, i was not able to see any difference, but even if i am wrong the game will not explode anyway, so take it easy
