    UPDATE : 21 NOVEMBER 2016 - VERSION 2.1 Texture Sets

All meshes have been updated with SSE NIF Optimizer to be fully SSE compliant. In addition, all Books and Journals now use a generic mesh and Texture Sets for their World View. This has allowed the removal of many duplicate meshes and reduced the size of the mod.

The 256px Normal Maps have been removed and all meshes now use the 512px Normal Map instead.

There is no longer any dependency on Book Covers Skyrim itself as this mod now contains all its own assets.

Is there a fully, exhaustive list of all the books added by this mod? It would help immensely for the addon I am working on.

Best way would be to look in the .ESP - I don't have Skyrim installed any more to make a list I am afraid.

@DanielCoffey It's quite alright, I took down a list by seeing your ESP as you said. I just want to thank you for your work honestly, adding so many books along with unique textures must have been such a pain. I aim to add at least 500 or so additional books, so far I have completed some dozen books with unique textures and added 394 (but they only have vanilla textures and models). Although I have run into an error.
When I drop several books together, instead of separating out around the player in the form of a circle as it normally should, it instead forms an ugly blob of several books joined at their spines. Any remedies for this? It is fine if you don't after all, it is natural that one would forget the intricacies of any method after prolonged absence. Anyways, thank you for mod, I hope I can live up to your standards when I release my addon!

I don't remember the books doing that - in fact I had some pictures with many dozens of books scattered around me in a circle. Heaps of them!

I would start by checking what world mesh you are using and make sure the books will be visible when dropped individually. If they seem alright, try dropping a few but turning a little between each drop (which is what I did).

It could be something to do with the Object Bounds - assuming you have set those up. That dictates how books react when dropped as well as shelf stacking - at least until the Havoc physics engine takes over.

If a book disappears when dropped it means you have a missing or incorrectly named World mesh. If the game crashes to desktop on mouseover a book in inventory it means the inventory mesh is not found. If the book is visible but glossy you are missing the Normal map.

      I hope that helps.

Oh, and I used an Indie Licence version of nD0 by Quixel for the normal maps. I don't know if the tool is still sold or what the price is now but it was really useful. Failing that, the free and unsupported version of CrazyBump may still work.

I'm getting crashes related to Bashed Patch, 0.esp with the same repeating formID 0x000D9F89, which leads to this mod. Maybe this can be fixed manually? I'm not sure. EditorID is LlItemBookClutter.

Edit: I think the problem may be that I'm already using Legacy of the Dragonborn. I'm seeing many book names getting repeated.

Hello, I wanted to make an addon to this mod, I already made some progress by porting about 150 books from ESO, all the books from Daggerfall, Redguard, Battlespire and Shadowkey. But, while trying to make my own textures and models I keep running into errors, like the book not opening, or having proper sounds etc. Is there any way we could discuss this, so you can help me work through these problems? I am available for contact via Discord (name --> synder0444), or Email (my gmail --> [email protected])

Will you ever be expanding this mod to include Creation Club content? I noticed Saints and Seducers is added with a unique cover, but the Saints and Seducers book introduced in the CC with the same name is missing that unique cover.

No I will not be adding any new books. The cover I used was from Book Jackets Oblivion and is available for anyone to use with accreditation like I did.

Weirdly, I think it was a conflict or something on my end. After a corruption issue, I restarted and found the books all had covers now! Or maybe it was Legacy of the Dragonborn, I don't know. Regardless, I love this mod; it makes my usual bad habit of being an absolute goddamn librarian actually enjoyable.

Sorry for the necro on this post but what was corrupted and how did you fix it? I've just now got the Saints and Seducers creation after using this mod for a while and all the book covers are vanilla. I'm not using Legacy of the Dragonborn if that matters, if it's that mod which changes these covers?

Hi, I made a patch for this for VIS. Would you like me to share it with you? I've been using Nexus for a while but this is the first time I've uploaded; I added a link to this page and your name in the credits, please let me know if there's anything else I should do to make sure you get proper credit. I've also sent a message to the author of VIS as well.

Thank you for the credit - I appreciate it. I don't need a copy of the patch at the moment as I am not playing or modding Skyrim jsut now.

      Have fun.

Hello, guys! I have a questions about BCS mods:

    1) What the difference of those 2 versions?
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
    and
Book Covers Skyrim Updated at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)

    2) Can I use both in my game? If yes, then which of them 2 need to replace 2nd?

    3) It is possible to make BCSU with ESL or ESP-FE flag? Cos BCSLL already have it.

Writed with help of translator. Thanks for understanding.

The first file you linked is my BCS Lost Library mod and it can be used at the same time as any Book Covers Skyrim mod (unless the Book Covers Skyrim mod says it already combines BCS + BCSLL). It is not in the new ESL flagged format because that change happened after I had stopped modding for Skyrim.

The second file you linked is an updated version of my Book Covers Skyrim mod and should be used instead of my main BCS mod. It does not contain any of the BCSLL files.

You  should be able to use both the BCS Updated mod AND my BCSLL mod at the same time. You will have to ask the author of BCSU if they can make an ESL-flagged version.

Alright, so... It's okay to play like this?

(BCSLL replace some of .dds files from BCSU)

Did you include any of the Temple Zero texts?
Stuff like "Reman, son of Reman"?

Cosmology is in but I don't remember the others. I did crawl through The Imperial Library as well as the Book Jackets Morrowind mod but not everything was in there at the time I did these. If it came in with ESO then the answer is no. If it was a Morrowind title then I may have missed it or not recognsied what it was.

I think its older? IDK, i know its part of Tamriel_Data, and they aren't a big fan of ESO lore (For obvious reasons...)

Would it be possible to make these available external to the game as an ebook?

Most of them, yes. If it was in The Imperial Library website at the time I made the mod and wasn't too out of character I includedas much as I could find.

Love the work. Any chance of an Obsucre's College of Winterhold and Hand to Hand LL patch for this version of the mod?
Or should the old be compatible with this version?
