Post-AE Wheeler version didn't want to install from the FOMOD. I installed it manually, but I don't know if the issue was just on my end, so you may want to check the FOMOD works like it should.
It works great, but I'm wondering, if is there a way to change the mapping? I did find a Control map on skyrim root folder, but it isn't a simple text file :(, I'm using vortex as mod manager, maybe it save the config in a different place?
I mostly use this site: https://hawk.bar/SkyrimControlMapper/ I wish I could help about Vortex thing, but it's been years since I have used it. It generally puts mod files in its mod folder IIRC.
FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT DIFFERENT EDITS: I really don't have much time to work on this nowadays, so there won't be new edits anymore (for a while at least). Feel free to edit controlmaps as you like.
Could it be possible to turn Skyrim control into something closer to Monster Hunter World ?
If I knew how to change them, I would probably go like:
LB = Wheeler (RS to move around) LT = Left Arm or Draw bow / [M] Power RB = [Modifier] RT = Block A = Sneak / [M] Dodge B = Activate / [M] Power Attack X = Sheath Y = Attack (Right Arm) LS = Run RS = Focus Mode / [M] Switch between First or Third Person Up = Skill Menu Down = Map Left = Magic Menu Right = Inventory Select = Widget Start = Pause Menu
As for the command inside the Wheeler menu: RS = Select item A = Add Slot B = Remove Slot X = Add Wheelder Y = Remove Wheeler Left/Right Switch Wheeler
I tried it, I noticed when I attempted to apply the fix that it looks like you already had it updated in the files (thank you for that, btw!) but I still get a CTD. Not entirely certain what's wrong at this point, I'm going to keep at it because this control scheme is, in my opinion, absolutely perfect. But I might just figure out how to map my own because I've tried others with only middling success. Honestly it might be a user-error.
I eventually solved it. For whatever reason, the file I have of the control mapping is formatted ever so slightly differently than others. I'm not sure if my file got corrupted, or if Bethesda arbitrarily decided to slightly adjust how many tabs are between each entry in the latest update.
What I did was found a different control map that did work, and copied its format and spacing. Essentially I just moved Hedgehog's control mapping into the entries for the new mod's notepad, and then put that notepad file into the mod folder for this mod's control map.
Hedgehog's mapping is the only one that works for me and I'm not willing to compromise on someone else's wayward scheme.
Hi mate, really good QoL mod especially with all the modlists! Is there a way to bind the d-pad hotkeys with the modifier key pressed on? Binding the default 1-2-3-4 hotkeys no problems but how to get the 5-6-7-8 for let's say swap weapons and stuff? thanks for your reply
Thats a great controll mapping, but i have a suggestion or a question how i can change something. First im not using quicksave or quickload, is it possible to change draw/sheathe to modifier/left thumb, and sprint to modifier/right thumb, and free up X and B for free use, like dodge and or combo key for BFCO ?
It sounds possible, but I really have don't have much time and it sounds a bit more niche. I pinned the control mapper site for further edits if you're inclined to edit.
Thank you for posting your mod... It is posted for free use... and you deserve a pat on the back for all the work. THANK YOU.
I must be missing something basic... but I am very confused. I did manage to fill my wheels with a few things. When I pull on my left trigger, a spell starts (if equipped), all the while the Wheel Menu is up as well. "B" does not cancel it... I will slowly cast that spell all the while the Wheel is up. It is confusing. I wanted the menu... not to start casting. Maybe that is some advanced mechanics, but it feels very confusing to me.
Must be awesome to have it all working, but I had to install a bunch of requirements to get a wheel... just because I wanted to use my controller to handle things like Ostim animations without having to use the Keyboard as well.
Frustrating. I will just go back to keyb/controller for now. This feels like a whole lot of work to change the way I play skyrim for no real benefit.
The problem with that is in Wheeler: it must be closed via the same button (LS). I had the same problem and it took some time to understand lol.
Current builds don't have free buttons to use with OStim, unfortunately. The most convenient way to use them that comes my mind would be D-pad, but that means emptying favorites menu (or Wheeler setup's functionality if you use that). You can try your luck with the control mapper in the pinned message.
Yes. LIsten to me, okay? Dozens of hours. Fiddling about with steam inputs. And I'm not exaggerating here, I spent so long. f*#@ing with the input mapping with steam. To get modifier keys working. This mod is yes, and I thank you, on behalf of all filthy controller users in Tamriel.

I knew something's going to happen with FOMOD. I'll check soon, much thanks.

LB = Wheeler (RS to move around)
LT = Left Arm or Draw bow / [M] Power
RB = [Modifier]
RT = Block
A = Sneak / [M] Dodge
B = Activate / [M] Power Attack
X = Sheath
Y = Attack (Right Arm)
LS = Run
RS = Focus Mode / [M] Switch between First or Third Person
Up = Skill Menu
Down = Map
Left = Magic Menu
Right = Inventory
Select = Widget
Start = Pause Menu
As for the command inside the Wheeler menu:
RS = Select item
A = Add Slot
B = Remove Slot
X = Add Wheelder
Y = Remove Wheeler
Left/Right Switch Wheeler
EDIT: Done, but I couldn't test it because still on 1.5.97. One of my friend tested it and it doesn't give a crash. Let me know if it doesn't work.
