This page is no longer being maintained. For new playthroughs, I recommend switching over to the much reworked, optimised and improvedDeadly Combat 2023 Edition.
This mod was a tremendous achievement from the author. But please, people, don't use it anymore.
Got problems with dragons? Invincible dragons? Could be this one. I just found out where all those magic effects (A SH** TON!!!) on Mirmulnir came from... He had 9!!!!! scripted effects running from DC alone, plus 19 inactive scripted other...something. And yes, some of them were for "Timed Block". On a dragon? Really? Gotta start a new game. Maybe this time around that invincible dragon bug will be gone.
So ive reinstalled this mod after a while and im getting this message: You seem to be using Ordinator, but you have not enabled a compatibility patch for this mod. A compatibility patch is provided on this plugin's mod page. I do not use Ordinator :/
-> So many of these mods are doing the same thing with stagger, stamina, timed blocking, damage, AI aggression, AI defense...etc
What exactly separates this mod from the rest? What is good to use WITH this mod? What is NOT good to use with this mod? Use them all and adjust load order for preference ones later? Is this really a good idea? What is your recommended combination of combat mods?????
I'd like to know this as well. I'm always a fan of Enai's mods so I use Wildcat and many other of his mods like Ordinator and Apocalypse. Other than that, I ended up adopting ultimate combat because of its popularity and ease of use to some degree, and it is my personal opinion that between Wildcat and Ultimate Combat I got most of my action bases covered. I'd like to know what the community thinks though
This is still my favourite combat mod. It makes combat similar to that of Witcher 3 or Mount & Blade, where every hit interrupts/staggers. I set max resistance 100% in bashed patch and set weapon and shield block base max in SkyTweak (converted for SSE), so every single block stops all the damage, for both player and NPCs. I also use Combat behavior improved, Combat evolved and Mortal enemies, and combat makes more sense to me compared to Ultimate Combat with Wildcat, for example.
If you try Combat evolved and see that the stagger camera shake is too much (at least I recall from the last time I played with it years ago), edit it with SSEEdit and delete everything related to Stagger.
Late reply but, the differences are minimal for a lot of the mods listed (except Dual Combat, that mod is essentially useless and poorly made). An example would be the difference between this and Ultimate Combat is that Ultimate adds swing affects and has a slightly different combat style. It really just comes down to preference.
I personally use Mortal combat to fix npc aimbotting, Smilidon for stamina dmg and armor value edits, ABT to fix bows and arrows, ZXslice's backstab and parry + hitstop, and ultimate combat. However I will likely be switching out Ultimate with Deadly Combat because Ultimate combat breaks arrow sounds and spell impact effects, and it bugs the s#*! out of me. Once you notice it, you can't ignore it.
Personally I preferred vigor because it also added weapon collision/parrying and narrowed the damage area for weapons, but I can't really use it anymore Because it requires skyui, and either skyui or vanilla+skyui widescreen fix, or maybe both crash my game for some reason whenever I open a menu... I blame AE upgrade... The widescreen fix that I found that actually works for me isn't compatible with skyui, and also I prefer the look of the original menus to skyui anyways...
DeadlyCombat.esp ?You seem to be using Ordinator, but you have not enabled a compatibility patch for this mod. A compatibility patch is provided on this plugin's mod page.
I'm not using Ordinator. There are other Perk Overhauls installed on my system(Adamant) but most definitely not ordinator.
I can't even do anything since I've got no idea which mod is causing trouble.
Can someone please help me? I'd upload my modlist/plugin list but i've got idea if that's allowed or i'd get banned.
Is this compatible with "Sustained Magic - Keep Your Spells Going" with the "Sustained Wards" plugin? Basically, those turn wards into a fire and forget spell, which breaks only when hit with enough total spell damage.
This is the only mod that's breaking my mod manager qq. My other combat mods are Dual Wield Parrying, Deadly Combat, Mortal Enemies, TK Dodge, Wards Functionalities Extended, and this mod

Sometimes it can crash, try disabling the ordinator patch
