I guess the mod uploader can't take criticism I made a post warning people not to download but it seems it was deleted, this mod overloads papyrus and spams the debug log with

hundreds of times during a play session, and uninstalling it is completely impossible I'll enter an interior cell, save disable the mod the save will load fine but as soon as I try to save, quicksave, exit the cell anything at all, the game immediately CTDs
this is on version .2 so until theres an update to address this, save yourself the hassle and don't install this mod, the lightning effects are not worth potentially breaking your save, I'm currently experiences intermittent (though often) CTDs with a debug several gigs large of the text I pasted earlier (seriously theres a time stamps and it's pushing that error 3+ times a second) and am just trying to power through to finish my playthrough
did you by any chance update from the old version to the new version? because the plugin was incorrectly name in the older version... it was re-named in the newer version to fix scripting issues but if you changed from this old one to the new one in the same playthrough this would cause potential issues.
Even with logging disabled, there is an issue with the script. It just isn't being shown if you obviously disable the logging. IIRC, the original creator of the mod, Minty, even said the script needed to be rewritten? But he never got around to do it. OP also said he was using the latest version (v.2), so the ESP name isn't the issue here.
There is simply something wrong with the script, also the fact a cloaking script is used to check for the weather type every few seconds doesn't help either.
First of all i can take critisism, this problem cannot be related to this mod, the errors your papirus shows, it's because in some cases the sheet is not shows correctly hitting the ground! If you have CRASH is cause you have some incompatibility in your load order, so before make any accusation or relate to this mod that has always worked fine, not only for me but also to other users, check your load order, check for traces of old mods that probably you dleted incorrectly and this could be the main reason your saves are corrupted!! but before posting anything like this, i'm f*#@ing tired of noob people like you!

Why don’t you let reason make the judge of your decision? Try it, save before you do btw, and if you don’t like it yourself you can always delete this mod.

Weird because still in 2024 Ive been using this as my lighting enhancing mod with zero crashes or issues, and i have a hand picked mod list going of almost 600 mods. So i feel like that was user error

Doesn't contain any skse-related folders or files, so it shouldn't really matter if you're on SE or AE, so long as you're using at least the version of Skyrim that was out when this mod was last updated.
Try it and see. Keep a clean save prior to adding it just in case something doesn't work as intended so you can remove the mod and go back to your playthrough without any problems.
Used this in Oldrim and wanted it again in SSE. Works fine so far. I understand that this mod has since made Lightning During Storms Sse (Minty lightning) obsolete so maybe I'll take a look at it soon, but I've always been a "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" kinda person. We'll see. In the meantime, glad to have this. Thanks. Endorsed.
I'm exactly like you. Don't fix what ain't broke because sometimes you can cause a whirlwind of new issues. That being said, I made the switch to the new version and I have zero regrets.
Would you say the switch is worth it? My biggest concern is compatibility. I'm using several patches to get my weather mods to play nicely with each other. Worried that if I undo it all and it doesn't work well...
I have 421 mods and 225 plugins. I began having issues with this version. Lightning wasn't showing up. I updated to the new version and it works flawlessly.
I'm only on 135 plugins at the moment (only moved to SSE recently) so may look into trying the "new" version sooner rather than later. I seem to recall I had issues with this in Oldrim that I could get around by disabling the sheet lighting. Thanks for your input. I'll give the new version a go later this evening.
great mod i like the lightning strike effect but not the flash screen, not healthy to my eyes how do i disable the flash effects? edit: nvm i got it tnx :)

Just a little update with minor corrections and better audio
the reason of this update is a release of upcoming mod from SHIZOF that would probably solve problems of papyrus and take over this old mod

Here is the remake of Minty Lightning as an SKSE plugin: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/29243
It uses meshes, spells, sounds from the original mods but doesn't have any scripts except MCM.
Everything is done in the SKSE plugin. It's scalable, stable and it's very performance and save friendly.

You should also disable logging in the MCM menu.

stormy weather drops to like 5fps. lowest setting is still way to frequent.
also breaks weather transitions with obsidian so they're instant

UPDATE2: I'm now using the SKSE64 version. It's AMAZING! I advise everyone to use the SKSE64 version of this mod... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
