Details

Manually saving breaks immersion. Quicksave scumming makes games boring. This is my personal tool I use to automate saves in my game. Maybe you can find some use for it too, so I built an MCM for it.

I built this mod as a supplement to alternate death mods. With my save limiter installed, all quicksaves and manual saves are disabled. Instead, you can set the conditions for your saves to automatically take place as you play. Save when resting, save periodically, save upon entering or exiting combat... It's nothing too special, but it sure is useful.

Yes, there are other save limiter mods out there. But I like to think this gives the most seamless experience possible.

Features
Save on Rest

The original function I needed but could never find exactly as I needed. Rest at any bed, and when you wake, you will save your game.

Locational Saving

When you change locations, you will save your game. There are two main uses for this feature. One is to serve as a save after long periods of traveling. The main purpose, however, is to interact with alternate death mods, forcing a save after you respawn through their functions. Commit to your alternate death.

Periodic Save

Your game will save periodically. Save intervals range from 30 seconds to 1 hour, as you see fit.

Victory Save

You will save after exiting combat. You may choose the delay after combat before the save occurs.

Save and Exit

You may assign a key that will allow you to end your play session and generate a save file. You may also choose whether this exits to main menu or desktop.

Challenge Save

For the bravest of you, this will force a save upon entering combat. I don't use this, but when I used to, it was pretty fun having to commit to the fight.

Save Slots

You may choose a maximum number of hard/full save slots for your playthrough.

ALL THE SAVES

  • All save features are modular and can be enabled or disabled at will.
  • Save type (Auto or Full Save) can be chosen for each save function.

Upcoming Features?

Honestly, I think the mod is fine as is. But if you guys have more QoL changes you would like, let me know. Maybe I might even find them fun in my own games.

Installation

  • Install manually or via mod manager
  • In the game settings menu (NOT THE MCM MENU), disable vanilla autosaving features.

Compatibilities and Performance
  • Script load is very light, only firing when the saves need to be called.
  • Periodic saving is the only running script, and even then it's a slow-firing one so there is no performance impact (Tested on an i5 and an i3, on integrated graphics, and on a GTX 1650.
  • Should be compatible with most if not all mods. Extremely unintrusive. I have no idea what sort of mod might conflict with this.
