Description

The Bone Wolf creation features a small quest to defeat a necromancer and to acquire your new pet companion. After this quest is done the surrounding assets are meant to get removed after 5 in-game days. Unfortunately the quest script that controls it achieves this by pausing itself for 120 hours instead of using a cleaner approach. Long pauses such as this one are a bad practice to begin with as a lot of things can happen in those 5 days, but this one is a bit worse, as this script is 3rd in line after 2 other scripts linked to it, so they will end up paused and waiting as well. What you get after all this are 3 total scripts, waiting for 5 days to pass before they finally get shut down. We won't have that here.

This mod replaces the above implementation with RegisterForSingleUpdateGameTime to avoid the issue altogether. Now the game will schedule an update for 5 days in the future to disable the assets without pausing 3 total scripts in the process. I also took the liberty of doing some microoptimizations on the script for it to run slightly faster.

Requirements

Bone Wolf Creation

Technically you can install this without having Bone Wolf too, but it won't do anything.

Important: This mod is made based on the Anniversary Edition version of the creation (the creation ITSELF, not to be confused with the game version that SKSE mods depend on), in which the quest starts after completing the quest "The Wolf Queen Awakened". If you have updated to AE or have used the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Downgrade Patcher with the Best of Both Worlds option, then you can safely install this mod and expect it to work. Unfortunately I'm unable to easily test if it works with the pre-AE version of the creation.

Installation

Install with your favourite mod manager. It is preferable to install this mod before starting the "Let Sleeping Wolves Lie" quest or before giving the Totem Bone to the wolf for it to take effect.

Compatibility and load order

Not compatible with anything that changes the cc03_QF_ccBGSSSE036_PetBWolfA_02000829 script.
Compatible with everything else.

No need to concern yourself with load order, as this is just the changed script, there is no ESP. However, due to the way the game loads its files, loose file mods like this one will always take priority over mods packed into BSA regardless where they load. If a mod happens to edit the same script and is packed into a BSA, this mod will overwrite it and potentially cause issues. Let me know of any such cases and I will make a patch to accommodate the relevant changes into this mod.
