About this mod

Replaces the default targeting crosshair cursor that appears with the "Eagle Eye" Archery Perk, with a choice of four different crosshair cursors, in two different sizes, and with an optional level of transparency.

For SkyrimVR only.

The "Eagle Eye" perk in the Archery tree works a bit differently in SkyrimVR than it does in the other versions of Skyrim. Unlike the useful Zoom feature in those games, the SkyrimVR Eagle Eye perk instead gives the player a flickering laser beam pointer and a rather large, circular crosshair cursor, with barely readable Skyrim glyphs around the edges ( fun fact, they spell out "BLASTING", if my rusty knowledge of Skyrim Glyphs is accurate.)

It should be noted for non-VR users, that unlike the main games, there is no targeting crosshair cursor for Archery except with this Perk (which is also gated by Stamina-at lower levels you really can't hold the cursor for long).

There are a couple of issues with the vanilla crosshair cursor, in my usage. One, it is rather low resolution; I'm guessing because it had to work with PlaystationVR as well as the PC incarnation. The other issue is that it is so large, it tends to block my vision at times.

There is another great mod here on Nexus that addresses these issues: No More Eagle Eye Cursor, by Closeded.

No More Eagle Eye Cursor lets you get rid of the giant cursor completely, and optionally, the laser beam pointer too. It works perfectly, and I highly recommend using this if you just want to use the laser beam pointer without the giant cursor getting in the way, or if you just decide the perk is useless.

If you do want a crosshair cursor, just not the vanilla one-come with me.

This mod has four options for the crosshair cursor:
1) A simplified version of the original circular crosshair cursor
2) A more simplified version, without the circle
3) An even more simplified version, with just a center crosshair.
4) A version similar to the vanilla Skyrim cursor.

Each version has an alternative transparency level-the crosshair cursors have a 50% alpha channel so they are translucent.
Each version also has a smaller alternative-these cursors are 50% smaller, and they also have alternative translucency options.

All versions are twice the resolution (1024x1024) of the original (512x512).

This mod is really simple. It is merely a texture replacer. You can install or uninstall at any time (as far as I know).

FAQ:
The cursor disappears behind the archery targets at locations like Jorrvaskr!
This happens with the vanilla cursor as well. You would think an archery target would have better collision!

OK, there aren't really a lot of frequently asked questions, it's just a cursor replacer, not a solution to world peace.

This is my first (and probably only) mod attempt. I wanted to just give modding a try, as well as try to create a FOMOD. (This didn't go so well, lol-I ended up with four FOMODs instead of one, but that's ok.)

Also, although I doubt it makes any difference for something so trivial and useless as this mod-I'm a big fan of the Cathedral Concept in modding, so for what its worth, this is released under its auspices.
