About this mod

Lets you cycle through animations and poses from different packs as your default idle using DAR. Does not include any animations or poses, download your favorite ones separately and use the provided bat file to generate your configuration. Now with menu, NPC and facial expression support! Notifications are now optional. No ESP or save bloat.

Lets you set keys to cycle through different animations or poses and different animation or pose packs, choose the pack or animation through a menu, and apply the selected animation as the default idle for the player or any NPC using DAR. Lets you build your own facial expressions and cycle through them as z A .bat file is provided to generate the DAR conditions for all provided animations - no animations are included in this mod, you must download your favorite animation or pose packs. No ESP needed, no save bloat, install and uninstall at any time!

Important note:
If you're updating from an earlier version you'll need to re-run the preprocess.bat file, since the conditions have changed to minimize conflicts.

Installing the mod:
  • Install this mod using your favorite method
  • Open the mod install location
  • Create a "packs" folder at the mod installation directory if one is not present
  • Copy your animation packs to different folders to the "packs" folder (only animations, no behavior files)
  • Execute "preprocess.bat"
  • Choose your starting DAR priority or use the default (depends on your DAR animations, higher priority ones might take precedence)
  • Provide your options for keys or hit enter to use the defaults (key codes can be found here)
  • Start the game

This will generate two DAR animation files for each of your animations/poses, so be mindful of the DAR limit if you're using an insane amount of pose packs. Pack names are set from their folder names and animation names from their file names, and they're sorted alphabetically (meaning that anim10.hkx will show up before anim9.hkx, for example).

Using it in-game:
  • "Next clip" (default: right arrow) key advances to the next animation in the current pack
  • "Previous clip" (default: left arrow) key returns to the previous animation in the current pack
  • Shift + "Next clip" advances to the next face in your presets
  • Shift + "Previous clip" returns to the previous face in your presets
  • "Next pack" (default: up arrow) key advances to the next configured pack (last one is favorites)
  • "Previous pack" (default: down arrow) key returns to the previous configured pack
  • Holding the "next clip" key adds or removes the current animation from the list of favorites
  • Holding the "previous clip" key returns to the first animation in the pack
  • Holding the "previous pack" key returns to the first configured pack
  • "Open menu" (default: page up): opens a list menu where you can choose the pack, animation, facial expression, or create a new expression
  • "Apply to NPC" (default: page down): applies currently selected animation to NPC under crosshairs (Note: The NPC will initially play the new idle but will revert to whatever the AI decides right afterwards - animations will only show properly if the NPC is playing the default idle. To reset the NPC to the default idle, select the default idle as your current clip and apply it to the NPC)

Notification messages will be displayed indicating your selected pack and animation, plus favorite information (they're slow to disappear, so you might get a queue). Your currently selected pose will be played as your regular and sneak idles by DAR, so you can still move around and play as usual, but while standing doing nothing the selected animation will play. To return to the regular idles, cycle back to the first animation in the pack (always your standard idle), reset the pack or animation, or pick the "Default Idle" option in the menu.

A "favorites" pack is automatically generated from the animations you set as favorite and placed at the end of your list of packs, where you can cycle through only your favorite options. This list is saved to a configuration file and should be available next time you open the game or on a different save, and should work as long as you do not re-generate your pack configuration by running "preprocess.bat".

Facial expressions:
You can create your own facial expressions in-game through the menu or directly on the configuration file. Facial expression entries go in the SimpleAnimationCyclerFavorites.ini file, under the [Expressions] section. They are used to execute the mfg command for expression, phoneme and modifiers. An expression is a sequence of comma-separated values where the first value is the expression index, the second the expression strength, the third the phoneme index, the fourth the phoneme strength, and from then on it's a sequence of one modifier index followed by a modifier strength, as in:

[Expressions]
Angry Look Right = 0, 100, 4, 100, 10, 100, 1, 100

Potential conflicts:
Any mod that uses the actor variables Fame and Infamy will be affected, since these are used to store the selected pack and animation, respectively.

Changelog:
  • v1.0: Initial release
  • v1.1: Improved internals, added NPC support, menu support and removed the need for sneak animation
