What it does
This mod alters the Creation Kit entries for the following items and sets their weight to 3:
  • Woodcutter's Axe
  • Poacher's Axe
  • Pickaxe
  • Notched Pickaxe
A piece of firewood now weighs 2,5.
The Nordic Pickaxe is clearly made out of metal. Its weight has been set to 5.

Additionally, the costs of the Woodcutter's Axe and the Pickaxe have been increased to 15. This is for my immersion and not a problem for anyone.

I am ever so overjoyed to announce the addon for Chesko's Campfire. It's ESL-flagged too and sets the weight of Deadwood to 2,5 and Stone Hatchet to 3.

How I came up with the numbers

Honestly I must have nothing better to do. For the Woodcutter's Axe, I googled for modern axes, which were at about 1 kg +/- ~150 g (I will NOT bother with the fake imperial units - leave that stuff in Cyrodiil). For good measure and to account for maybe longer handles, denser wood or thicker axeheads, I assumed about 1,4kg, which are about (sigh) 3 lb.

Now for the firewood part! *excited* I googled for the weight of pine wood per cubic meter, which is somewhere between 490 and 860 kg/m^3, depending on residual moisture. Roughly estimating its residual moisture and assuming you cut your firewood in advance (as recommended by Frostfall's survival guide, just saying) I settled for 620 kg/m^3. I then set up a calculation: 620=1.13/x [kg/m^3]. Yeah, you're seeing this correctly. I'm rigging the calculation to fit my wishes regarding weight. We get around 1822 cm^3, which is the volume of a SPLIT piece of firewood. I want a single split piece of firewood to weigh 2,5 pounds. Obviously they are split on the chopping block, even if the campfires don't reflect that. So I multiplied that volume by 2, then drew a cylinder with my assumed diameter of 12 cm and a volume of 3645 cm^3. That cylinder has a height of ~32 cm. Seems good (enough) to me.

Compatibility, Installation and Load Order
Made with and for Skyrim SE 1.5.97 (pre-AE). Am 99% sure it works with AE, but I won't test that.
Install/uninstall: Add/remove "LighterWoodaxePickaxeFirewood.esp" to your Skyrim/Data folder.
When in doubt, load lower (=later).
Since it's created with SE's creation kit, it should be in Form44, which was apparently a problem with a similar mod? And like the entire reason I made this in the first place, lul.
