Changelogs
27/03 - NPC support added for Lore Friendly Guns Version

Uses SPID to distribute NPC friendly pistols to the relevant NPCs. These NPC guns are flagged as non-playable, but NPCs using them will drop the player version of the guns.

26/03 - Flintlock Pistols for Adventurers Released!

Uses soul gem splinters as ammo, which can be crafted at a forge with soul gems filled to their maximum capacity (EG, a common soul gem filled with a common soul, a grand soul gem filled with a grand soul, etc).

The guns meant for NPCs from the original mod remain mostly unchanged. I only increased the charging times to keep NPC firing rates consistent with the player's firing rate.

Reloading Functionality

Adds a reloading hotkey (customizable through MCM) to the pistols from the Lore Friendly Guns of Skyrim mod. Each shot will now consume a full charge from the pistols' enchantments (with two exceptions) and the reload hotkey can be used to recharge the guns, while consuming bullets from the player's inventory. The bullet crafting recipe has also been changed to yield more bullets per recipe (12 bullets)
.

Here is a quick demonstration of the functionality.

Other Features and Changes

A few other changes have been made to the original mod in order to better suit the script's mechanics:

-Lore Friendly Guns: The crossbow reloading sound effect that played each time the player fired a pistol has been removed, since the reloading hotkey plays its own reloading sound effect.

-
Lore Friendly Guns: The generic firebolt sound effect from the gunshots has been replaced with custom flintlock gunshot sounds. The silenced pistol has its own separate sound effect, too.

-Lore Friendly Guns: The descriptions of the enchantments have also been tweaked. This was done  mainly to remove the 'Maximum Capacity' information referring to the mod's original mechanics, but some consistency changes have also been made.

Known Issues and Limitations

-In some rare situations, you might become unable to reload. To fix it, simply shoot any loaded gun, and you should be able to reload normally afterwards. Think of it as your gun getting jammed. Always carry a spare gun.

-Lore Friendly Guns:
NPCs can't shoot the guns. I had to change the guns' charging times to zero in order to prevent a bug in the reloading sequence, and it seems NPCs can't use staffs if their charge times are zero. To remedy this, I have made non-playable NPC versions of the guns, and used SPID to distribute them. I have also distributed death items, which means the NPCs will drop the player version of whatever gun they are using on death. If you use the Flintlock Pistols for Adventurers version, that mod has optional files which distributes its own NPC guns to NPCs, which were not affected by my mod.

-
Lore Friendly Guns: Not really an issue nor a limitation, but the changes in this mod apply only to the pistols version of the Lore Friendly Guns mod. This is by design - I like how the handguns (two handed guns, if you will) work in the original mod.

Recommended Mods

SkyUI Weapons Pack SE - My mod adds a keyword to every pistol, mostly for the reloading functionality, but the keyword also makes them compatible with this icon mod. Not really pistol icons, but they are definitely better than staff icons.

Simple Pistol Shooting Animation by Loop - Really nice pistol animations. Just make sure to grab the proper DAR conditions patch from the optional files here in my mods' page. If you do not intend to use the weapons added by it, you can safely delete the Pistol animation by Loop.esp file.

Cancelable large stagger - Gun staggerlock is real.

Credits and Thanks

Enroys
for creating the Lore Friendly Guns of Skyrim mod. I just love how well that mod's models fit into Skyrim's world, which is why I decided to dedicate this script for that mod specifically.

Everyone who took their time to comment in the reddit post. Without their feedback, this mod would have definitely been inferior.
