Adds a small number of guards to each Hearthfire Homestead, to grant protection to each home. Guards behave much like the housecarls, including patrolling the same way.

Adds two guards and one guard dog to each Hearthfire homestead, to grant protection to each home. Guards behave much like the housecarls, patrolling the grounds, while guard dogs just sandbox around normally. They are actually connected to the housecarl faction and friendly towards the player.
The guards are stronger than vanilla hold guards, but not invincible. They are flagged as protected to make them easier to keep alive as well.
The guards are all female. This is largely because the game needs more female guards, given that Skyrim has loads of prominent female warriors and even female soldiers mentioned, but apparently all female soldiers and guards quit their jobs the day the player appeared, all go on break whenever the player arrives, or something. Not very immersive.
Most of the guards are fairly straight forward tanks with perks to assist their particular fighting styles, but one of the Windstad Guards is a spellsword with augmented fire spells and dual-wielding abilities, although she might choose to use just her sword anyway. The guards are now named with different titles to specify their skills.
This was designed with some degree of immersion in mind, so the spell-using guard comes from Morthal which is more open-minded about magic, the guards each use slightly different weapons and perks, and so on.
The guards are designed to stay outside and sandbox and patrol the same way the housecarls do, and they will take action if bandits or vampires attack.

Hearthfire Homestead Atronach Guards - Sort of like this mod's sibling, with enhanced Storm Atronach guards instead of human guards, but they also run well together, since running both at once allows you to have both sets of guards, which will provide even greater protection for the homesteads.
