Have you ever wanted to eat and cook the flesh of your fallen foes or perhaps your followers,  friends, or even... your partner and gain their ancestorial power?

This mod came to me when I was making my other mod (CC Survival Mode - Bosmers Can Eat Raw Meat), originally, this was just going to add one type of meat called "human meat" as a way to get some fun food without disrupting the balance of ingredients, but as I thought about it, I didn't see the point in doing that at all. Then, while eating some flesh—er, ice cream—the thought occurred to me that different types of meat should have different effects depending on their race. It's one of those ideas that's so silly, it's awesome.

- What it does -
This mod adds multiple variants of food for each race. There's raw fleshes, cooked fleshes, stews, and meatloaf. Each variant has its own benefits. This mod also allows you to turn this mod's added flesh into the old human flesh (renamed to Tainted Human Flesh if addon is selected to help with consistency.)

A cookbook to unlock stews and meatloaf. Stews give a new bonus that's usually more powerful, and meatloaves are good to sell to unassuming merchants.

A condition system has been put in place to prevent clutter. If you don't meat the requirements to make the flesh, you'll see a "dummy" recipe. For more info read below:
Spoiler:

This dummy recipe is a placeholder and needs an item called something like "Any Race's Raw Meat" and goes away when you have any race's raw meat and is replaced by the proper recipe. So this reduces clutter a lot, rather then seeing 20 stews and cooked meats whenever you have Namira's ring and the cookbook, you only see two that tell you what you need (unless you have a bunch of race's flesh on you).

Using mods like SPID and Base Object Swapper allows for conflict-free distribution to NPCs and human flesh replacements.

More details about what SPID and BOS do:

Spell Perk Item Distrubiter distributes to NPCs in multiple ways.

When NPCs die, they are given the appropriate race-based flesh at a 10% chance.
Draugr have a 5% chance.

Known cannibals in Skyrim (Eola, Hogni Red-Arm, Lisbet, Banning, Sanyon, Nimphaneth, Sigar, and Knjakr) will have cannibal meat. (that you can pickpocket.)

Wood elves have a low chance (5%) of having cannibal meat on them. (You can pickpocket it.)

to give every human race a very low chance (0.2%) of having cannibal meat on them. (You can pickpocket it.)

Give vampires a chance (20%) to have either stew or raw meat. Raw meat is more prevalent.

Adds Book "Hogni's Bloodiest Beef Cookbook." Can be found in his Hogni's pocket.

A easteregg to Nazeem

Notes: For all races except vampires, cooked meat is much more common than stew or raw meat. I imagine vampires like raw meat more because its supposed to be fresh and bloody so cooking meat wouldn't make sense. In order to make a stew, it requires a heart, so I threw that in there as well. Wood elves are chanced to be given cannibal meat due to the Green Pact. I based all the values off the thought of 1 in x amount and also how many of x you see. 1 in 500 people seemed appropriate to me considering skyrim's size and barbaric culture.

Base Object Swapper is used to exchange human flesh for new fleshes that are out in the world (it does not touch what is in storage containers). Following the same rules as above, information on where flesh is based comes from the Elder Scrolls fandom.
The new fleshes replace any human flesh in Reachcliff Cave.
Because Valuruud is in an ancient Nordic crypt, the human flesh is replaced with Nord flesh.
The human flesh in Castle Volkihar is replaced by the new raw flesh or stew.
Any flesh not specified in BOS_Swap.ini will be replaced by a random race's raw flesh.
Added Book "Hogni's Bloodiest Beef Cookbook." replaces the book "The Doors of Oblivion" in Reachcliff cave.

Why did I use BOS and SPID (and downsides)?
To put it simply, I'm not skilled enough to use CK or xEdit to that degree and SPID and BOS are very user friendly and easy to set up, along with allowing the mod to stay conflict free. But because of this I was unable to achieve my original attention of making it so meat is only harvested off bodies if either you are a Bosmer or have the ring of Namira. Maybe one day I'll try and do something more, although I'm not happy with it, I can live with it.

Why am I writing so much that people probably won't read?
For people like you who do read, of course! Give yourself a grand ol' pat on the back for getting this far, even if you are just skimming. Writing is also a passion of mine.

The Meat and Bones
All the stats and info for the table is based off Elder Scrolls Wiki and Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages.

Recommend Version:  Raw meat is more potent but less satiating, meaning that the magnitude will be higher but the effect will be shorter. Cooked meat is the opposite. Using this method, it is useful to use raw meat instead of cooked meat in certain situations, and stew has its own separate benefits.

As of 1.1.0
There's also Draugr meat which cannot be cooked or stewed.
It gives a 50% resistance to frost damage and 3 poison damage per second for 10 seconds.

Meatloaf just gives hunger, but is worth 30 gold.

Tainted Flesh Addon
This renames the old Human Flesh into Tainted Human Flesh, changes its mesh, and texture. This is for consistency.

Patched mods: Apothecary, Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul, Alchemy Potions and Food Adjustments, Requiem, and Skyrim Alchemy and Food Overhaul.
Recipe Auto-Learn - I'm not sure whether or not any recipes have Human Flesh in them, but if so, this should (Hopefully) change the name to the new Tainted Human Flesh name.

- Requirements -
Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID)
Base Object Swapper (BOS)
BOS is optional if you don't want human flesh in the world to be replaced by the new variants. (Fomod option available to exclude)

- Compatibility -
The base mod touches no vanilla records and uses Spell Perk Item Distributor and Base Object Swapper, so conflicts should be at minimum.
The stew's bowl texture might cause problems with high-poly mods; if so, let me know.
The base mod does not edit things like "Human Flesh" in order to keep the balance of ingredients in mind and conflicts to a minimum.

I will do my best to supply patches for mods that require them and are within my capabilities, but I'm a lazy mofo, so I can't guarantee anything.
Ineed, Sunhelm, Frostfall, and Survival Mode (including improved), have built-in compatibility.

Bosmeri Cuisine has a selectable consistency patch in the FOMOD.

Blocked Cooked Human Flesh Recipe
Human Stock can be made out of any of the 10 raw fleshes.

All of the esp's are esl flagged, so they don't take a esp slot in your load order. If you're using VR, merging shouldn't cause any problems. All ties with items use their editor IDs, so SPID and BOS should always be fine.

Any version of Skyrim SE should compatible

- P.A.Q. -
(Possibly Asked Questions)

Q: I'm getting X too often, can you change the chances?
A: I won't but you can! Its made easy using SPID and BOS. Just find the inis in the mods file to change it. Cannibalism Expanded SPID_DISTR.ini for NPCs and Cannibalism Expanded BOS_SWAP.ini for in-world object replacements.

Q: But if you took away the old Human Flesh, then how do I get the old human flesh?
A: Quite simple, You can craft it in a cooking pot! You simply need 1 pieces of flesh, Namira's Rot (mushroom), and some Ale. I haven't touched what's stored in containers, so you'll still be able to find the old flesh in those places. Using the optional plugin Human Flesh will be renamed to Tainted Human Flesh

Q: Why those ingredients?
A: Because its my attempt at keeping Human flesh the same rarity as before. Lets say the alcohol and the Namira's Rot takes away a lot of tasteful qualities leaving behind an ingredient only useful in things like alchemy.

Q:I can't see the Tainted human flesh recipes!
A: To be able to see the human flesh recipes you need at least one of the corresponding meats on you. This was done to prevent clutter as there's 10 different raw meats which means 10 different recipes are needed.

Q: I can't see the food recipes!
A: For the cooked meat and stew, you need to either be a wood elf, have the ring of Namira on you, and/or have Hogni's cookbook.

Q: Can I uninstall/update this mod mid-playthrough?
A: It should be fine to do so. Any human flesh in the world that was replaced by one of the race ones will be reverted. If you've picked it up into your inventory and drop it might not though. As for updating it should be fine.

Q: But Lavender doesn't go well with human meat stew!
A: Well, how do you, [Insert Hypothetical question asker's name], know what goes well with human meat?
From what've read on the internet, it taste like pork, and what goes well with pork Garlic-

Q: But it costs lavender not garlic!
A: Well, [Insert Hypothetical question asker's name], if you let me finish speaking. Its because Garlic was my first choice but after distributing the stew to vampires I realized that didn't make much sense as vampires are known to hate garlic. So I changed it to lavender.

Q: But why didn't you just remove it from the vampire's distribution?
A: Because the stew contains a human heart and flesh which I feel is great for vampires!

Q: But Vampires don't eat human flesh because it doesn't have blood in it, that's actually myoglobin!
A:  [Insert Hypothetical question asker's name] you're beginning to get on my nerves. Yes I do know all about myoglobin, but hearts do contain blood in them and it seems that in TESV: In-game lore, at Castle Volkihar, there is both human meats and hearts around the place and on the tables in the dining hall (along with bones from bodies). So making an educated guess, I do think that at least some Vampires in Skyrim are also cannibals.

Q: But-
A: SHUT UP!

Q: I follow the green pact! You expect me to eat lavender with my stew?
A: Good point. So as of 1.1.0, there's an alternate and exclusive recipe for wood elves that uses eggs instead of lavender to make the stew.

The fun version's goal is to be exactly that: fun. However, it is not at all balanced in doing so. Choose this version to just play around with. This also makes it easier to do a cannibal-only playthrough without using any other food or potions. This version tries to use racial powers and effects where ever is possible and uses racial highest skills when not possible. Fun Partial Version: This version is based on the fun version, but the values have been slightly nerfed to make it slightly more balance, which, in my opinion, still remains very unbalanced.

Skill aid version: This version is completely different from the other two, staying away from the racial powers and effects of meat and making it only for stews where possible. In this version, raw and cooked meat give the same effects but with different magnitudes and timers. Raw meat is more potent but less satiating, meaning that the magnitude will be higher but the effect will be shorter. Cooked meat is the opposite. Using this method, it is useful to use raw meat instead of cooked meat in certain situations, and stew will always add more rather than overlaying and doing nothing or rendering the other two useless like the versions prior to this one. Table

Skill Aid Version (Passive-Reduced): Same as the last one but times are increased and some things have been reduced further so they can be treated much more like passives. Table
