An optional choice should you choose it, but through the Creation Club addon "Bittercup" there's a spell tome called "Master Transmute" that you can get which ultimately turns Iron Ore into Gold Ore easily. But like I said, it's an optional reward and one of the rewards you could get through this add on. Choosing any of the others will result in you not getting this spell tome unless through console commands.
I'm using economy mods like Medes In Your Pockets and Scarcity so this was helpful in balancing this ridiculous spell. :P I also have crime/landlord mods to make money and I don't want the temptation to just sit in my house using this spell.
So, I had to change the values to 25 iron to 1 silver, 25 silver to 1 gold to put it inline with Medes values. Thanks for the framework.
Only way i can see this mod improving is if it had a faster option, as in the ability to constantly transmute just holding down the buttons, preferably for less xp than vanilla, and possibly more expensive on materials. Also, if you could change it so 1 iron is 1 silver, and 2 silver is 1 gold, that'd be great (would conform to the metals density better) unless you made a bulk option, such as 10 iron per 7 silver, and 10 silver per 5 gold. Just an idea is all
Those are good idea. But I can't make any of them sadly. Making transmute a continuous spell would take some experimenting, and I don't have the time for that. To make the two transformations cost differently, I'd have to rewrite the script, and I don't want to do that either.
This is fantastic. I was just thinking about how the transmute spell is tedious and functions poorly (honestly, why would they assume you want all silver to go straight to gold before the iron was used up), and figure that there had to be a mod which addresses it. Well, yours does, but even better than a basic fix: I think making the spell more expensive is an excellent balance decision.
Wouldn't it be slightly more logical if dual-casting went directly from iron to gold? Then again, you'd still need some way to specify whether you want silver or gold when single-cast, so that's probably not as useful.
Thank you for this. I'm definitely trying this out. I've never used the Transmute spell because of that annoying reason. This mod will go in my essential list of mods. Thanks again!!

Sorry :p
