About this mod

My most recent ReShade preset, adjusted for performance and oriented for gameplay.
Arguably removes the need for an active ENB.

About this preset:

I've been tweaking and experimenting with ReShade in combination with several weathers mods for months, and this, although it's always WIP with these things, is my latest most satisfactory result.

I'm trying for a decent look for the skin while broadening the ghastly vanilla color palette and applying a nice filmic contrast and decent ambient occlusion.

Although admittedly this is no Pi Cho ENB, it should still be adequate for longer play sessions in either laptops or desktops with limited VRAM and not so great cooling systems.

There are no hard requirements apart from ReShade itself (full ReShade with all the effects packages is safest bet here), but my setup runs these mods, in this order in the mod pane of Mod Organizer 2 (not the plugins, those I let LOOT reorder at will):

Luminosity Lighting Overhaul - The Cathedral Concept at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
Particle Patch for ENB at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
Water for ENB at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
RAID Weathers at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
Enhanced Volumetric Lighting and Shadows (EVLaS) at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)

Installation:

First of all, my game still has ENB and an ENB Preset, it's just not active apart from the speed hack.

MANUALLY download this mod, open its 7zip package and extract to your Skyrim SE directory (usually Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition) where your game executable (launcher) is.

Start your game, press HOME, expand your preset pick list, then choose MVC Enhancer.

Edit at leisure.

A few notes:

I would advise you to set Ambient Occlusion (AO) to 1 in your skyrimprefs.ini, but that's up to you.

If you feel your game could benefit from more fps, press HOME key, press Active to Top, then disable a few effects, especially GloomAO and DPX.

Smart Sharp and Luma Sharpen are especially useful if you do the upscale technique taught in this mod: Mechanical Panda - Don't waste your bucks - Performance Setup at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)

By the way, thank you to Mechanicalpanda for that mod, the information contained there really set me on a good path to getting Skyrim SE playable in several low to mid-tier laptops (not only gaming laptops)
