If you used previous versions of this mod and wish to update: The newest version (3.0) uses a better method of changing the smelter, and no longer requires you to delete the old smelter with the console. ( Thanks to azzendix! )
If you used previous versions and deleted the duplicate smelter with the console, the new version will have 0 smelters. (If you did not delete anything, you are in the clear)
To fix this, simply follow these easy steps:
1. Load the latest version of this mod. 2. Load a save in which you had not yet deleted any smelters. 3. Select the smelter in the console 4. Load your most recent save, the smelter should still be selected in the console. 5. Type "Enable"
Done! The smelter should now appear and should give you smithing experience.
I guess it's too late to ask for patches for the other Eli's homes (Routa, Ruska), since the author hasn't been seen for two years. Think it's time to learn to patch these myself then.
I know this is really late but figure its worth an attempt: I can't find an Ars Metallica patch for Eli's Ruska house which is the one I use (I like the Halla house but its incompatibility with the Courier Service mod makes me pass on it).
Two small remarks: the mod should be sitting under Patches and you'll need to update the mod page to show v3.0 instead of v2.0 so that NMM doesn't add an exclamation mark
EDIT: The newest version(v3.0) use this method now. Thanks for the update, Egyptian19.
Hey You duplicate smelter from Eli's, edit it and place it as a new smelter to the game. I suggest you just edit EliSmelter record. So you don't need to use the console to disable the old smelter.
It can be done easily with SSEedit. 1. Open Eli_RiverwoodShack.esp in xEdit. 2. Expand Eli_RiverwoodShack.esp > Furniture > EliSmelter 3. Right-click at EliSmelter record > Click "Copy as override.." > Name your patch > OK. 4. Go to the new record that you just create and edit "WBDT - Workbench Data\Uses Skill" from "None" to "Smithing" 5. Finish. Just exit xEdit to save the plugin.
Funny thing, I tried doing this within the creationkit by editing EliSmelter and it didn't work. The Smelter that was placed still did not give smithing experience. No idea why.
I am not an experience modder, and if anyone wants to offer advice on how I can do something better I am all ears, so thank you for letting me know!
I would prefer "This mod edits the Smelter in the outside area of..." because there is nothing to fix in my original mod. >_> You are indicating something needs "fixing", as if it were broken, when it merely needs being made compatible.
Also your description from copypasting from the Breezehome version page has left wrong mod in the "requirements listing".
