This is a specially mipmapped texture that will show what texture/mipmap level of resolution you are actually seeing in game. So if you've ever wondered how close you need to get to something for 4k textures to really make a difference this might help you.

I was having some trouble with the mipmapping on some of my recent texture mods and learned a whole lot about mipmaps and how to make your own. That's when I had this crazy idea that it would be nice to mark the mipmaps so you could see what mipmap level you were actually looking at.

Instructions
There are three options for this: A 4k version for tiled textures like mountains, landscapes, walls, etc., an 8k version also for tiled textures, and a 4k version for textures that don't tile like clothes, plants, and other small items.

If you change the file path and rename the file to the same name as another texture, you can also use it to test that texture, like the fourth image where I replaced one of the Cathedral Landscapes grass textures to see if I was ever really seeing the full resolution 1k version of the texture. (In case you're wondering, the grass had to be practically under my feet and barely visible to ever see the full resolution 1k version of the grass).

The 8k version only mipmaps down to 256x256 due to texture width limitations enforced by NVIDIA Texture Exporter. The 4k non-tiled version has marked mipmaps all the way down to 64x64; after that it will become transparent. The tiled 4k version has marked mipmaps down to 32x32.

Notes
I play using a 1440p vertical resolution. All images and the video below were taken at that resolution. You will probably see different results if you play at 1080p or 4k resolutions.

Feel free to post images of your results.

Sorry if my video doesn't look so great. My upload speed really stinks and YouTube uploaded the video at a lower resolution than the actual video resolution.
