For anyone having an issue with purple leaves on the bent pines:
For me it was the mod 4k parallax treebark overwriting the textures of bent pines and therefore lead to purple leaves. Make sure that bent pines wins any conflicts with 4k parallax treebark (or even similar mods).
No. that version works for far distance without using dyndolod, it has no LOD's at all. can be very performance heavy since it will render the full version in the distance..
as for dyndolod, i am really terrible at it, in fact i know even less now when it's been so long since i modded LODs for Skyrim (years).
I'll make an update pretty soon, though this is 4K already but i think the bark could get a bit better at least.
Edit: nah, didn't like the result unfortunately.
The main reason the bark looks rather low res is not because it has low resolution but because it doesn't really repeat a lot, and that was something i thought was pretty important for this tree to make it appear more natural. So it's down to the UV mapping and not really the texture itself (which is 4K).
it seems like it's poorly explained. i will change that.. you only want textures and meshes, but you don't want any folder called LOD, or dyndolod from the main mod. i'll try to edit it so it makes more sense..
Is it possible to just make these render in the distance using large reference, however that works. That's how forts and castles etc render in the distance right?
Oh cool, would you happen to remember if one of the older versions in the downloads works that way please? I love SFO because it's just a simple mod to use, I really don't want to mess about with skse etc.
So I found out through trial and error that version 1.01 must be the version you're referring to, and I can see those trees from miles away. I guess the question now is how can I make the latest version work the same way please? Is it to do with the model itself or something I can change with sseedit?
Edit: I figured it out. You just open the mod withh sseedit, select each tree in the worldspace, double click record flags, select "persistent" and "is full lod". Delete the leftover worldspace entries and good to go.
I really appreciate your work on this and sfo Vurt, it's changed my game and is simple to use, which is fantastic in a scene which is getting overly comlicated for a lot of us I think. There's a need for simple to use stuff that does a lot, so many thanks for your efforts.
That's great, can you share the .esp so others can use this edit (and i don't have to do it lol). I'll credit you for the edit/change. if you want you can email it perhaps vurt72 at gmail.com cheers and glad it worked out :)
Can someone make billboards for this? Or some kind of premade LOD? My modlist is very big and DYNDOLOD doesn't work anymore, it just gives up and gives me an error message that when I google it, nothing comes out (this of course has nothing to do with this mod and is something entirely else!!!)
Hey Kyndra72 o/. I've made a patch for mossy bark on your beautiful pines, and I was wondering if I could have permissions to upload it as a patch. Thanks :')
Is this compatible with Camp Argentum? Cause I'm getting 2 trees from this mod blocking soldiers from entering a tent in the middle of the camp who's entrance is literally a hair away from one of the trees.

The trees are beautiful... but a 4k/8k version would be useful for such large trees because they look quite bad up close.

I tried No LOD version, full model is showing from the distance but billboard is also showing on top of it.
Seems there is DynDOLOD_SSE_bentpinesesp_ultra.ini in DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\Rules, which is loaded in my preset.
Also, in the main mod there is DynDOLOD/DynDOLOD_SSE_BentPinesesp.ini.
Would I have to change those somehow to NOT showing billboard?
