This mods adds the legendary gear of Germanic saga hero Dietrich von Bern (Thidrek in the nordic version). Since he is usually identified as Theodoric the Great, I tried to go with an Ostrogothic (or when in doubt just generally Germanic) aesthetic.

Quick facts:
flagged ESL: Yes
craftable: optional
temperable: yes
enchantable:yes
helmet compatible with all vanilla races/genders: Yes, but massive sideburns will clip through the cheek guards

The items:

Nagelring: A mighty sword forged by the dwarf Alberich for the giant Grim. Alberich steals the sword back, and promises it to Dietrich for killing Grim. The name most likely means "pointy sword", with -ring/hringr being a term for sword that pars-pro-toto refers to the ring on the hilt (soooo, once a gain a ring-hilted germanic spatha, different style than previous mods though). He gifted Nagelring to Heime after obtaining Eckesachs.

Hildegrim/Hiltegrin: The other item, a helmet, that Alberich had to make for Grim. After killing Grim, and his wife Hilde, Dietrich took the helmet for himself. The helmet features a big gemstone, and depending on the version "Hildegrim" is either the name of the gem or the whole helmet. In addition to being made up of the names of the giants "hiltegrin" also roughly translates to "battle cry".

Eckesachs: A sword forged by dwarfs for Ruodlieb, then later owned by the giant Ecke. Dietrich claims it by killing Ecke in a duel. "Sachs" in this case is probably more of a generic term for sword/knife, not necessarily meaning a seax, I still chose to portray is as an early narrow seax (just overly long, since it belonged to a giant, and fully replaces Nagelring for Dietrich). The sword is meant to be VERY bling-bling, I dialed that back a bit, but it's still there. In addition to meaning "Ecke's seax/sword" the name also means "sharp/cutting sword".

Stats and effects:

In pure stats all items are end-game worthy though not as good as the best vanilla gear.
The swords though ignore 50% of enemies armor. This best reflects their portrayal in the sagas. They don't have magic abilities, they're just REALLY good and cut through all but the very best armor. (Still not as good as Mimung though, the only sword to cut through Siegfrieds skin)

Hildegrim teaches the player a new shout (works only when the helmet is equipped): Thidreks Fire Breath. In the more fantastical parts of his story Dietrich possesses the ability to breathe fire, which he uses against dragons. Sounds familiar? Fits quite well into Skyrim. The shout is a dragon's fire breath (instead of Yol Toor Shul), just with a different sound, so it's a neat personal flamethrower. Probably OP on low difficulties, but what isn't.

None of those effects are enchantments, so you can still add your own.

How to get: Two ways

1. Finding: Since Dietrich got all of them by killing giants, I have placed them inside giant camps. You can go out and look for yourself, or check the locations inside this spoiler:
Spoiler:
Show

Nagelring: Talking Stone Camp, leaning against the boss chest

Hildegrim: Stonehill Bluff, on the central rock pillar

Eckesachs: Broken Limb Camp, leaning against the boss chest

2. Crafting: If you'd rather craft them, there is a new book placed on the desk in Jorrvaskr's study (where you first talk to Kodlak), called "Dietrich von Bern" (very creative, I know). As long as the book is in your inventory you can craft the items. Since they were all made by dwarfs you also need the dwarfen smithing skill.
