Transcribe Spells - Convert Known Spells to Tomes
I wanted an easier alternative than console commands for temporarily or permanently removing spells from my characters. This mod lets me drop spells that I don’t want to know now off in a chest, and gives me the option to add them back later.
Equip the spell that you would like to convert in your right hand, and use the lesser power "Transcribe". Depending on your load order the script may take a second to find the correct spell tome, but once you have used the lesser power you're free to unequip the spell you are transcribing, move around, etc. while you wait for the script to finish running.
This mod uses FormList Manipulator, which compiles the formlist of spell tomes used by this mod at runtime. So any magic mod that includes spell tomes can have its spell easily added to this mods list without .esp patches
In English: If the magic mod isn’t in the following list, the “ConvertSpellsToTomes_FLM.ini” will need to be tweaked, but it’s very straightforward and I’d be happy to help you do it or just add it for you myself.
I’ve preconfigured the .ini to work with any combination of the following mods:
- Apocalypse
- Arcanum
- Advanced Alteration - Telekinetics
- More Apocalypse
- Mysticism
- Odin
- Phenderix Magic Evolved/World
- Stormcaller Spells
- Triumvirate
Configuring the .ini:
Each line in the .ini adds the editor IDs for different spell mods to the "SpellTomes" formlist. Each line is arranged like so:
FormList = SpellTomes | ListofCommaSeparatedSpellTomeEditorIds | +SpellModPluginName.esp
To add compatibility for a new spell mod, one would just copy and paste the line above, add the spell tome's editor IDs and change the plugin name. For convenience I created a xedit script that will output the Editor IDs of all selected records into a text file found in the "Edit Scripts" folder. The script can be found under miscellaneous files.
