This mod allows the player to craft my interpretation of the Glorenzelg - High Blade of the Silver Hand weapon in Skyrim. The weapon uses a detailed poly efficent model and 4k texturing mapping. It was made using Blender 3D and Quixel Mixer. The ESP is ESL flagged and therefore shouldn't take a space in mod load orders.
Weapon Lore and Reason for Its Different Appearance -
So, I was looking for more weapons to model and randomly decided to this weapon. Originally, Glorenzelg - High Blade of the Silver Hand was a drop from the Icecrown Citadel raid from the Lich King itself. From my experience, in WOW, it was a powerful epic two-hander only surpassed by Shadowmourne in terms of gear efficiency. Except for the flavor text and name, there is no other obvious lore concerning the weapon.
Now, the reason I modified and change the appearance was the idea that its original appearance did not fit the idea of a "Runeblade" and "High Blade of the Silver Hand." In addition to this, the original weapon was simply a retexture of another weapon that dropped from the same raid called the Citadel Enforcer's Claymore which further depreciates the uniqueness of the weapon. So, with care, I decided to redesign the weapon referring to Warcraft's Runeblade concept and already pre-existing runeblades. Design and lore wise, I wanted this new appearance to connect to why the Lich King himself drops the blade.
"When the young prince of Lordaeron fell victim to the grasp of Nerzhul, he betrayed and damned the very kingdom he was sworn to protect and rule over. This even includes the destruction of the Silver Hand, a group of elite paladins the prince was once apart of. When the last vestiges of the group fell, the prince took claim of the order's High Blade, a powerful weapon of the light but no match to the might of Frostmourne which shattered it upon impact.
Upon becoming the Lich King, Arthas reforged the blade with saronite steel and twisted the blade's visage to be something terrible and twisted. The once proud shine of the silver blade was dulled as the living black metal reinforced and dominated its very being. Engraved with red glowing rules that betray the rulesets of the Silver Hand and everything it stood for, the blade had completey fallen, just like the order it once belonged too."
Weapon Stats -
Glorenzelg - High Blade of the Silverhand is a powerful two - handed greatsword that comes with an enchantment and special perk ability when equipped. It's base damage is not quite as high compared to my other weapon mods, but it quickly makes up that difference with its specialized perk.
- 38 Attack Damage
- 0.75 Attack Speed
- 1.85 Reach
- Special Perk: Crusade Against the Living
- Enchantment: Corrupted Cause (Disenchantable)
Weapon Enchantment: Corrupted Cause -
Engraved with runes pertaining to the opposites of the now fallen Silver Hand Order, the blade is capable of draining 25 points of health away from enemies it hits. Those hit also lose all sense of self, frenzying against all in a close vicinity and temporarily betraying close allies.
Special Perk - Crusade Against the Living -
Personally corrupted by the Lich King himself to create a mockery of the order he once served in life, the blade bears a strong hatred against the living which allows its wielder to deal 50% more damage to targets not considered dead or undead.
Way to Obtain and Recipe -
Glorenzelg - The High Blade of the Silver can be created using the Skyforge once one acquires the Ebony Smithing perk. The items required to craft it aren't as difficult to find as my other weapons, but the components are still many in quantity
- 1 Filled Black Soul Gem
- 1 Daedra Heart
- 2 Silver Ingot
- 4 Ebony Ingots
- 3 Leather Strips
Personal Notes -
- I think this weapon looks a little too dark at times, but I was satisfied with the overall outcome of the model.
- Asymmetry makes for cool weapon designs, but it does take a decent amount of time and effort to do properly
- Personally, I might have had too much freedom with the weapon's redesign. The next time's weapon redesigns will have to be more restricted in my opinion.
- I'm still on vacation with relatives, but I have been able to find sometime to create these without too much issue.
- I am making another sword mod, but surprisingly it is not WOW - related.
- Continue to enjoy the holidays and thank you again everyone!
