Firstly, thanks for all support so far guys!

(05/27/2023) Version 1.7 is up. A quick update is available for those not wanting to redownload the 2 gb zip (This quick update includes loose files)
This will be the final update to Warden of the Coast. There were additional updates I wanted to make, but after some consideration, I’d like to use my free time to transition into other projects. It’s been a pleasant journey, and while it isn’t perfect, the original vision for the mod has been met, and with that, I feel the project is complete.

     Changes are as follows:
    Spoiler:
    Show
     - Fixes bug where companions will stop combat if hit by the player
    - Changes Dagon's appearance to make him more unique than regular dremora
    - Adds dialogue scene in Sovngarde after the mod's completion
    - Reworks starting quest for more reliability
    - Console command for jumpstarting questline fixed

A console command directory is available for those having trouble with a quest (If this is necessary I'd ask that you report the issue so I can address it): CC directory

    Incompatibilities I have verified:
    Redbag's Solitude

    Incombatibilities reported by users:
    The Great City of Solitude
    Solitude Docks
The Scarlet (Not confirmed as an incompatibility yet, but it looks like it may be)
    Dawnstar Manor
Lyngwi - A Nordic Village SSE
    DK's realistic ships

I can attest to the load times being absolutely insane.
Wandering base Skyrim, I'd be unlucky to get a load screen lasting longer than 10 seconds.
Right now, on the island, I'm currently waiting for the game to load in this mod, and have been for over 10 minutes.
And it seems utterly random. Sometimes it's also just a few seconds, sometimes it's a minute, sometimes it's 10 minutes. No clear pattern between which part of the island, or whether I'm fast-travelling og exiting a dungeon. It varies greatly.
I have no theory as to what's wrong, but clearly something IS wrong with this mod.
But frankly, as much as I have been enjoying the mod so far, I'm at the point where I'm close to just typing in a console command to go back to Skyrim. I am spending more time waiting than playing right now

STOP PUTTING JUMP PUZZLES IN MODS, DEAR MOD CREATORS. IT'S NOT FUN AND WITH SKYRIM'S HORRIBLE ENGINE IT'S A TOTAL MOOD KILLER TO DEAL WITH A JUMP PUZZLE AT THE VERY CLIMAX OF THE GAME.

10/10 mod and awesome ending sequence otherwise

I rate this mod a 9/10 and it would be a 10/10 if it had more integration with the rest of the world and the followers weren't just sandbox npcs after the story. Had no crashes or quest trigger issues and never needed to use the console to play the mod (There are far more bugs in Skyrim's vanilla questlines compared to this mod). If you do plan on picking this back up, you should make an Epilogue and do more with the followers post mod and thats all i can think of.

I can see the amount of work that went into this mod, but I just can't recommend it due to multiple reasons. Biggest of which are:
    1. Horrible script delays on island (especially in west part for whatever reason), extremely long load times and random freezes. It is borderline unplayable. My PC is not exactly high end (or middle end for '23 to be honest), but heavier modpacks never caused problems of this scale. Hell, even mostly stocked LOTD museum load faster from fresh restart than this island after briefly visiting a random shack.
    2. The way the story forces you to make certain decisions, like "talk with everyone on this ship about their personalities, life hobbies and aptitude for combat or you won't be able to continue" or "do atrocity 1 or atrocity 2 or you won't be able to continue". For former, it feel forced and not how it should be done. For latter, there should be always at least a polar choice, or a way to wiggle out of it (or try to and suffer the consequences).

I had no issues what-so-ever with crashes, lag, or bugs during my playthrough.

he bases the idea from dragon age, where they make some of the choices too evil on evil in situations that we obviously could make better choices, like convincing the population to band together instead or choosing one lesser evil, so i second having more options to solve the problems, even if we have to work more to obtain it.

Hah as a Bioware fan, from which the author took his inspiration, it's just ingrained in me to check in with all my followers at base every so often, especially after events, to get opinions, check up, etc. Felt totally normal to me! 😅

And yeah, in my play, I tanked the regard of one follower and was never able to move onward them at all, I completely ignored two because I just wasn't interested, and with one I couldn't quite manage to trigger the romance I was aiming for, but got the option for others. It was all incredibly familiar. The Bioware fanbase jokes about gaming these systems or reloading dialogue when you don't get the results you want, but I've learned to go with the flow of my choices. If my character tanks someone's approval and they eventually abandon me, then that's just how it plays out.

I have a very high end PC, and the lag spikes/loading times on the island make it damned near unplayable.

Cant recommend, lots of lag, several crashes and I'm not even past the "Help Islanders" quest. I'm going to try and drudge through it but will not be returning. Anyone playing this. Make games saves every 10 minutes or so. You'll thank me.

I've played this mod in the past and its been great. Its a wonderful mod, but for some reason this time around I can't seem to be able to progress some quests. Katri and Iriel both have "Wait for X" or whatever and I waited until the quest objective updated but neither will progress?

Lags and bugs ,that's my experience with this mod .Yet I pulled through .Just when I was gonna finish the story the background music went nuts and I had to listen to that annoyingly cheering music for 40 MINS ! I'm done man .Great mod but I'm done.

I highly recommend for anyone playing this mod that you play with a light mod list or no mods at all, I'm still playing through the mod however it's a massive pain fast traveling and the loading screens take 5-10 minutes, and loading from an interior to the exterior has taken up to 20 minutes. I have taken to traveling everywhere on the island by foot but even then then game freezes for a couple minutes before i can keep moving.

After installing this mod, even if I don't start the storyline, if I use additemenu to extract items, a black screen will appear and time will pass for a few hours. What is this doing? Why does a storyline mod have such a strange bug?
