About this mod

Combat advantage against enemies who are sleeping, with their back turned, or otherwise vulnerable. The Attacks of Opportunity mechanic from Wildcat / Smilodon, stripped for use with other combat mods, expanded with additional situational advantages, and distributed by SPID.

Wildcat (and its little brother Smilodon) by Enai Siaion set the standard for Skyrim combat. "Attacks of Opportunity" is one of their interesting tactical features, giving distinct advantages to combatants facing a vulnerable enemy.

This mod offers those same situational advantages for use in other combat mods. It compliments Valhalla Combat, SCAR, Precision, Poise, and Poisebreaker.

These combat advantages are now distributed to all NPCs using Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) instead of a cloak spell on the player. As a practical matter, this probably makes the most microscopic difference in performance. If you notice a difference, you enjoy a good placebo as much as anybody.

There are two flavors available: Enai's original recipe, plus my own tweaked and expanded concoction.

Enai's Original Recipe

  • Pulling back a bow: +25%
  • Power attacking: +50%
  • Casting a spell: +50% (ward spell negates)
  • Struck from behind: +25%
  • Staggered or paralyzed: +25%
  • Struck in melee: +25%
  • Sleeping or sitting: Critical strike for 10 times critical damage
  • Below 1/4 Health: +25%
  • Above 3/4 Health: -25%

Substill's Tweaked and Expanded Concoction

  • Staggered or paralyzed: +25%
  • Sleeping or sitting: guaranteed critical strike for 1.5 times critical damage
  • Struck in melee: +25%

  • Above 3/4 Health: -25%

Requirements and Compatibility

Absolutely requires SPID or the player will be the only one getting her ass kicked. Should be compatible with anything, though it is redundant at best and probably counterproductive with Wildcat, Smilodon, and Valravn since they have this system in place already.

As an alternative, a modified formula for Wildcat attacks of opportunity is available here, and one for Smilodon is available here.
