    for me this is the most beautiful mountain textures. Can you make parallax version?

      Thank you! I am not currently modding Skyrim SE and this mod is not being updated by me anymore. However, somebody might have made a parallaxed version of it. Give it a search.

    In my Skyrim they simply aren't working, they don't replace the vanilla ones...

    Is it possible to get a reduced specular optional?

    Not sure if it's related to meshes I have. But when I have these textures, some rock especially in the rivers or alongside the rivers are very shiny with a white glaze.  I don't encounter this if just using Noble skyrim textures for mountains.   I am not using the rock and roads add on.  It's also not an issue if I am using Northside Majestic.  Better Dynamic snow also seems to apply shiny / glaze to snow covered rocks in Northfire.

    Thank you.  aside from that this are the best mountain textures and I have tried em all.

      Vanilla and CoT I think that slick look is accurate enough for wet rocks based on my outdoor travels, however, when I changed over to Vivid Weathers they were much less nice looking, even with the bloom turned down on notch (perhaps I need to go all the way down).

      I agree, the specular map needs fixing, apparently it's completely white. I have a persistent problem with shiny rocks as well, visible both with and without ENB.
      It would be great if the author addressed the issue, I really don't want to replace this mountain texture

      Sorry for the long wait. This comment somehow got overlooked. I've uploaded a 2K version (NPM2 SE 2K specular edit listed on the bottom of optional downlads) of the mod with adjusted speculars. They were not completely white but brighter than vanilla. Updates to the game and ENB's seem to not take a liking to brighter specular maps as I can't remember this being an issue on my setup way back when I made the mod. Give it a try and let me know how it looks on your setup.

      Hey sgtpetterzon, I also completely overlooked your comment - for some reason Nexus didn't notify me about it. And since you didn't change your mod version into update, I didn't even notice that you had uploaded a fix. Thank you anyway! Downloaded

      Hi, I've had the same issue and spent quite some time debugging it, the culprits for extremely shiny rocks (or moss on them) are textures/landscape/mountains/mountainsslab01_n.dds and mountainsslab02_n.dds. I've replaced these two files with ones from Majestic Mountains and it fixed the issue, while keeping this mod's textures.

      @Betaraptor01
      The montainslab01_n.dds in MM is rectangular, the mountainslab01.dds and mountainslab01_n.dds in Northfire's mod are quadratic.
      So did you use the rectangular montainslab01_n.dds from MM together with the quadratic  mountainslab01.dds from Northfire?
      OR
      Did you use the quadratic montainslab02_n.dds from MM renamed to montainslab01_n.dds together with mountainslab01.dds from Northfire?

      Best regards
      Pran

      By doing this you get missmatched normal bumps and the texture just wont look right. It is used on many more places than wet rocks. The proportions of the texture maps have little effect in this case as the UW coordinates is what sets the proportions in game.

      So if you are active again, why then you dont offer normal-maps for your mod witch are less shiny?

      I'm never inactive, I just don't mod this game at the moment. Comments like yours PranDe, get annoying really fast. Just like friendly reminder of what mods are and what modders do. We don't "offer" anything, we just share what we do, take it or leave it. Support and requests are entirely optional for us to engage in. "Fixing" an issue some users have with a mod might not be as simple as you think. In this case adjusting the alpha channel on the mountainslab textures will maybe fix the shinyness of the wet rocks but make ordinary rocks and mountains look ugly. The problem is in the mesh not the texture.

      Have you guy's tried this mod?

      Sorry if I came across as demanding.
      Just commenting seemed a bit little to me.
      Because of the posts below, I had the impression that the problem was with the normal maps and not with the meshes.
      Now I'm starting to understand.

      Thanks for the link to Shiny Wet Rocks Fix.
      This was constructive.

    Does the specular fix only work with the 2K version? I have it loading AFTER Noble Skyrim, Northfire's Photoreal Mountains 2 for SE 4K, and Tamrielic Textures but I keep getting a redundancy message for the NPM2. It didn't look like a full version since it was considerably smaller. Is it? I don't have anything else that conflicts with it.

    EDIT: Damn. My bad. I was looking at the file size for 4K, not 2k. So I guess it is a complete replacer, but only for 2K. Any chances you are eventually going to do that for the 4K version?

      Sure, I was only doing as a test. I will do them to if they work.

      Thanks. I haven't been in-game in a while and need to restart a new one, so I'll let you know if it works once I do. Unless someone beats me to it.

      Yeah I get weird specularity on mountains and rocks at night, using 4k version.  It's the normals, right?  EDIT:  Nah, your textures aren't the problem (love them btw).  Something else is going on... I'll figure it out.  EDIT2:  It was the new snow shader.  I had them disabled, but somehow my skyrimcustom.ini got regenerated with default settings that turned it back on (I emptied it and set it to read-only now).

    I just want to say that these are the most beautiful mountain textures, hands down. I'm never replacing them with anything else.

      No clue I'm afraid.

      Thank you!

      (I no longer play or mod this game and it's been quite a while since I did. But thank you for downloading it and any problem you might have will surely have an answer in the modding comunity. And thanks to all who help and sort out whatever problem arises.)

      Might be because NMM hasnt had support for years and has been laid to rest. Its Vortex or MO2 now and I really recommend getting to know MO2 as its basically thee thing to be working with as the options alone are out the roof!

      HuntinCrazy That's very wrong, NMM is updated on regular basis, and is on par with the rest, as with any thing else in this world, it's nice to have several options :)
      NMM is prefered if you don'ty like Loot, and want total control - like me :)

      Whatever you say pal. That thing is ancient and unsupported. Throughout all my travels through mod pages; I've seen no one recommend Nexus Mod Manger over Mo2 or even Vortex. No one today recommends it.

      Literally no modern mod manager requires LOOT.  Vortex does have it built in, but you can disable that if you choose, for example.  You can continue to use NMM, but you will keep running into these kind of issues.

      @zanderat
      I use a Vortex mod list for playtesting new mods.  It has 1.3k mods on it atm.  No reason to disable Loot.  You don't need it to sort, but it is a great tool to aid in troubleshooting.  It saves me time when doing conflict resolution for 1k - 1.7k mods.  I use MO2 for my current 1755 mod playthrough on a separate drive.  I use it there too for the same reason.

      @robertlecomber09
      I used NMM a very long time ago.  I didn't think people still used it.  I hope you find a fix, but I would recommend switching to a better manager for the convenience and updated features.

    edit: used the mask optional file over the vanilla color file that was causing a issue, using vanilla color version now only now and all is good

    The best looking mountain texture i found so far. Sadly some rocks look by far too bright and shiny, especially on bright, clear days. I don't use ENB's or mesh replacers for the mountains.
