I did it through photoshop! lots of little tutorials out there. When I go for full retexture i.e. 3d model, i start in Adobe substance, and export to photoshop and save as dds. Check out PraedythXVI's: Substance Guide PBR Workflow tutorial for a good place to start. It'll also show you how to save your dds files using photoshop. A bit of work ahead, but it's worth it.
Really great work, thanks so much for the recolor! Is the mask still in the pipeline? I honestly prefer that look to the original, seeing a character's eyes is cool :)
I really like this recolor, I feel that it is more in line with the armor, good job :) I would just like to ask if you could make an "Only textures" version since using meshes makes it incompatible with Daring Lunar Guard Armor and Lunar Guard Armor for HIMBO
It's not too much to ask, it would only help a lot with compatibility, thanks
The meshes are tied to the cube map, just open it up in nifskope and copy the file path of the cube map textures\cubemaps\mithril_e.dds, and copy the color values of the specular color from my meshes to others, then just drop these textures into the respective file path and boom.
With this set up, the male version of the armor works perfectly, showing off the excellent new color provided in this mod. (Thanks for this new color, @xanderheit!)
I followed the instructions in NifSkope to adjust the 'Lunar Guard Armor - Vanilla Female Body Support' mesh files to use those from this mod, and for most of the pieces, there is no issue. However, the helmet is giving me a bit of trouble. Despite the new path being saved in, when I load the game up, it reverts to the mesh data from 'Lunar Guard Armor - Vanilla Female Body Support', specifically for the following files:
As a result, the helmet color in game for females appears as the original golden color. I am not sure what would cause this issue with only these particular files. Is anyone able to offer troubleshooting advice? I changed the 'Textures' path under each section's (ex: f_helmet_0_export) BSTriShape --> BSLightingShaderProperty --> BSShaderTextureSet; is there another section that needs to be changed?
Thanks, everyone! Have a great day!

P.S. Upon doing some more digging, I found this post about an issue in NifSkope: NifSkope not saving editing lines (texture paths) correctly, and displaying mismatching data (permanently). Reading through the post, it sounded like the author, Darklocq, ran into a similar issue as the one I described. In the aforementioned files from 'Lunar Guard Armor - Vanilla Female Body Support', I edited the path manually (just deleted a bit of the path name to create a "change"), clicked away from the field, saved, and then manually typed the path from this mod's mesh, rather than using the copy-paste method. After saving the files again using this method, the helmet now correctly appears in game for the female version- yay! I will leave this here, in case anyone runs into a similar issue when copying the meshes over for their body types.
Thanks again, @xanderheit, for this gorgeous recolor!
Great work. I'd like to have both versions at the same time, the golden one for me and the silver/steel one for my followers. Is it possible to make some magic with the original plugin for to install both?

Here it is.
The original mod has open permissions, would you be okay if I used the re-texture?
I use GCON so if you do implement that let us know. :)
Texture set squared away.
Inventory models set.
Container adjusted.
In the player home as a reward for all that GCON work. :D

My load order has the following set up in MO2:
Lunar Guard Armor
Lunar Guard Recolor
Lunar Guard Armor - Vanilla Female Body Support
