I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, please help! I am getting the black face bug. I have the mod you said to download that is supposed to fix it. Google said it might be my load order and so I put these to load after KS Hair, but that also didn't work. Clearly this is working for other people, so I'm sure that it is something I am doing wrong, but I have no idea what!
For those of you experiencing black face bug, you could try opening your load order in xEdit and see if anything is overwriting or conflicting with this mod or are editing NPCs. Would also appreciate it if you could make a bug report so it's easier for people to find and possibly share solutions in one thread. I haven't experienced any black faces, but a few other things I'd suggest is making sure you have the correct version of Face Discoloration Fix installed first, and then testing this mod in a separate profile to make sure it's working for you in a minimum LO. From there you could enable your other mods in chunks until the issue resurfaces and start disabling mods again until you find the culprit.
will do replacing hair will complete my modlist just to let you know i plan on utilizing dint999 and fuse00 hair, i know it will nuke fps but i have a super pc sooo it'll be playable, anyway thx for the tip ima try this out if i have any other question should i just reply here or msg you
hello, so i see that you basically replace the mesh id in xedit is there a tutorial on how to do it anywhere. i see what your doing i just dont know what to click or anything
I don't know if there are any tutorials, I did it through trial and error. If you look at the plugin in xEdit and right click and turn on hide records with no conflicts or whatever it says, it's easier to see what I changed compared to vanilla
heres where im at, so i open up ssedit hit ok to load all my plugins, once everything loads i can see all mods, i go to the hair replacer that u made and i can see all the changes with head parts etc. i've never used ssedit before which is why im sort of lost. im basically asking for the exact process you did in order to make the esp and replace the vanilla hair parts, nif, etc.. the only thing i know how to do is name the new /rename the file. basically i need a step by step explanation. i've look at your plugin and everything and see that your overwriting the skyrim.esm with your esp "ks hairdos smp- vanilla replacer.esp" ... my question is how do u do that. i have a screenshot to help better understand my question it wonk let me post an image here but basically skyrim.esm text/files are purple your esp and the changes made are green. whats the process to do that
im on vacation so i can respond more frequently and communicate better
You only need to load my mod and its requirements to make it easier. After that, click the drop down and click the headparts tab and then click on one of the hairs. In the right panel you should see the original records from Skyrim.esm and the records from my mod that conflicts since it's overwriting the vanilla records. If you click on Skyrim side it'll highlight what's being overwritten in red. From there you can see exactly what I replaced if you have hide records with no conflicts enabled.
If you're referencing what I did and trying to make your own patch for a different hair mod, start by copying all the vanilla hairs into a new plugin and then after that, copy hairs from whichever hair mod you want to use as a replacement, Fuse00 Hair for example, into the same plugin you just made - lets call it Fuse00 Hair Replacer. After that you just reference what I did in my plugins. You should be looking at the plugin you just created now, Fuse00 Hair Replacer.esp, and it should have all the vanilla Skyrim hair headparts. One by one you open a vanilla hair and a hairstyle from the Fuse00 Hair mod by holding left control and left clicking on each to bring them both up in the right panel in xEdit, then from there drag hair records from Fuse00 Hair into the vanilla hair records. Again, this should be done to the records you copied into your plugin. I don't have Skyrim installed so I can't make screenshots to visualize this for you, but hopefully this helps.
thanks for the help everything makes sense and i only have one last question. i made my esp it has all vanilla hairs. however when i copy/click all hairs that i want from the mods im struggling to see exacyly how you copied it into the newly created esp. once i control click every hair i want from whatever hair mod what option do i choose. there are 3 hair esps that im using assets from btw. once i go into all 3 esps and control click each hair i want, whats next, i have the options copy as override into, copy as override (with overwriting) into, and copy as new record into
I use copy as override with overwriting. Also, I'd recommend saving your work frequently when you think you've made decent progress. xEdit doesn't have an undo button so it could be annoying and tedious to have to go back and redo work if you've made a mistake rather than just closing xEdit(without saving so the mistakes aren't saved) and just starting from the last point where you saved and everything was how it should be.
thanks for the help i got hairs replace however the physics wont show on npcs, they only work on my player. any idea on what the issue might be...nvm i it was the save i was using
This mod and the female version uses different versions of KS Hairdos. For the men version you need KS Hairdos for Men, for female version you need Ks Hairdos SMP.
How do I uninstall this? I disabled the mod in Vortex but all the male hair is still from this mod.
P.S I like the mod. But too many of the hairstyles are either ugly (my personal opinion) or just not lore friendly. If anyone knows how I can choose what hair an npc has, please let me know.
if you install vanilla replacer that requires ks hairdos smp and this that requires ks hairdos no smp, game will crash. this file doesn seems to have any utilty unless you want only replace male hair. is this?
If you're referring to my KS Hairdos SMP - Vanilla Replacer mod, using these two together does not cause CTD, and the SMP version is only for females. This mod is only for males.
thank you for reply, but if i install both ks hairdos, sse (no smp) and hdt-smt, game constant crash to desktop. i already tried this many times also with new save. im playing gog version 659
Then that's possibly an issue with the GOG version of Skyrim, not my mods - I've been using them together long before I uploaded them to Nexus. There was an issue with Faster SMP that caused a CTD on AE version of Skyrim when NPCs used SMP hairs(not wigs). Try updating Faster SMP to the most recent version if you haven't already, maybe GOG suffers the same issue. Also, post a crashlog in the bugs tab.
I'm 99% certain you specifically need the male one. I ran into the same situation with another mod which was dependent on KS Hairdos and apparently there is a difference. Also... the description on this page would have likely stipulated if the AIO was an option.
