About this mod

This mod turns the Riftweald Manor (Mercer Frey's house) located in Riften into a player home. This mods supports "Hearthfire multiple adoptions".

Permissions and credits
Since the first time i played Skyrim and did the Thieves Guild quest-line i always thought it would be awesome to live in the Riftweald Manor after it becomes vacant in the game. I always liked the city of Riften and found it quite disappointing that the player home in the city is tucked away in a corner and to me it didn't quite feel like a real part of the city. So i thought surely someone must feel the same way and it will only be a matter of time before someone decides to make a mod to make the Riftweald Manor available to the player. Unfortunately for me almost 11 years after the game's release no one seems to have felt the exact same way i did, or at least, not someone with modding capabilities.

I am not a modder myself,
but since i really wanted a mod for this house i decided to go on Fiverr and hire someone to make the mod for me that someone being a modder by the name of Kayo_Storm. I think Kayo did a fantastic job on this mod and now that it is complete i wanted to share it with the community especially in case there is someone who also wanted to live in this house really bad but was never able to.

NOTE: Since i am not a modder myself i won't be able help with any issues you might run into. If you run into bugs with this mod feel free to post about them on this page but know you will need to rely on other people who do have in depth knowledge on modding.

HOW TO GET THE HOUSE:

This mod adds a key on the guild-master's desk in the thieves guild headquarters. This key is a static object (so not an item) which, when interacted with, activates the mod and replaces the vanilla version of the Manor with this mod's version. The key can always be interacted with in order to switch between the vanilla version and this mod's version of the house so it doesn't intervene with any quests.

What this mod does (for a more technical explanation) is it replaces the doors on the outside of the home to lead to a different cell. So the original cell isn't touched at all and therefore it is safe to install this mod during any time in your play-through. So the activator of this mod just lets you switch between doors that lead to the original (vanilla) cell and doors that lead to the modded cell.

The key will be on the desk from the beginning and can always be interacted with even if the player isn't a member of the Thieves Guild. Although immersion wise it would make the most sense to use the home only after it has become vacant during the Thieves Guild quest-line of course.

FEATURES:

-Entrance/Living Room: Fireplace which can be turned on and off. Table which can be served with different foods and drinks by interacting with either the jug or the stack of plates in the cabinet to the right of the entrance.

-Kitchen: Multiple ingredients can be harvested here and plenty of room for storage downstairs of the kitchen. The kitchen also features a table which can be served with different foods and drinks by interacting with the different platters of food on the kitchen counter.

-Secret Storage: The suspicious cabinet with its false back panel has been left in place and behind it you will now find a storage/treasury room to safely store all your most priced possessions.

-Upstairs you will find a enchantment table, an alchemy table, access to the balcony and 3 rooms. A master bedroom, an office and a children's bedroom with 2 beds. Although it is important to note that in order to use this as your family's home you will need "Hearthfire multiple adoptions". Don't forget to use the 'Bless Home' spell included with that mod.

-Office: A secret stash place and an activator on the desk which let you place 2 books to be displayed on top of the desk.

-All doors are now accessible. (Originally the house could only be entered and exited through the door at the balcony at the back of the house).
