Updates in Progress
-Adding in two new color variants: black and silver
-Implementing minor enchantment effects for each color variant (e.g. red weapons deal fire damage)
-Making individual replacer mods for default bound weapons. No extra weapons, no new scripts, spells, enchantments, etc. Just a simple recolor of bound weapons as they exist in vanilla Skyrim.
-I'm looking into replacing the 'draw weapon' animation that is default for the crafted bound weapons with the 'bound weapon' animation that is part of the bound weapon spell.
-Enchantment overhaul: making plans for a tiered system of enchantment buffs for bound weapons that are tied to player's conjuration skill level. Will include the 'default' bound weapons with a new enchantment tree.

Description

-Adds a total of 6 8 different colored versions of the classic 4 bound weapon types (sword, 2h axe, dagger, bow & arrows)

-Effects/Colors added are gold/flame, teal/frost, purple/spark, rage/red, poison/green, leeching/pink, ooze/black and light/silver.

-Added bound weapons use LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons weapon replacement mesh files (his mod page gives permission for limited use). The default bound weapons will use whatever mesh replacement, if any, you already have.

-New in update 1.2: For bound swords only: weapon color variants now have an innate enchantment progression tree related to that color, buffing bound weapons but not making them cheat items. These enchantments cost nothing; they are an inherent aspect of your spectral weapons. All other weapons have a small enchantment related to that color/effect; this will be updated as time goes on.

There are two tracks of enchantment progression: Mystic Weapon and Non-Mystic Weapon. Non-Mystic Weapons have a lesser enchantment at each level and cap out at level 3, "Greater Bound Weapon". Mystic Weapons cap out at level 4 "Grand Bound Weapon" and the level 4 weapon has the previous level 3 effect plus an additional effect.

Weapon Levels are based on your Conjuration skill level, and bracketed every 25 levels. If you Conjuration skill is less than 25 (Level 0) you only have the color change applied and no other enchantments.

Gold/flame: Level 1: 5/10 fire damage, Level 2: 10/20 fire damage, Level 3: 15/30 fire damage, Level 4: 25% weakness to fire
Teal/frost: Level 1: 5/10 frost damage, Level 2: 10/20 frost damage, Level 3: 15/30 frost damage, Level 4: 25% weakness to frost
Purple/spark
: Level 1: 5/10 shock damage, Level 2: 10/20 shock damage, Level 3: 15/30 shock damage, Level 4: 25% weakness to shock
Rage/Red: Level 1: rage on target level 3/9 for 3s , Level 2: rage on target level 6/12 for 3s, Level 3: rage on target level 9/15 for 3s, Level 4: rage on targets within 15ft up to level 10 for 3s
Poison/Green
: Level 1: 5/10 poison damage, Level 2: 10/20 poison damage, Level 3: 15/30 poison damage, Level 4: 25% weakness to poison
Leeching/Pink: Level 1: 5/10 drain health, Level 2: 10/20 drain health, Level 3: 15/30 drain health, Level 4: 30pts drain magicka and stamina
Ooze/Black
: Level 1: 10/20 slow for 5s, Level 2: 20/35 slow for 5s, Level 3: 30/50 slow for 5s, Level 4: Blindness for 1s
Light/Silver
: Level 1: 5/10 damage to undead and werewolves, Level 2: 10/20 damage to undead and werewolves, Level 3: 15/30 damage to undead and werewolves, Level 4: 15pts damage to undead and werewolves within 15ft.

-New in update 1.1.2: optional replacer FOMOD for the default bound weapons.

-New in update 1.1.3: optional Dynamic Animation Replacer patch to change the 'draw weapon' animation for melee weapons to the same as the 'summon' animation for bound weapons via spell casting.

-The new colored bound weapon spells are obtained two ways:

1) Read the corresponding bound weapon spell tome: upon reading a bound weapon spell tome a one-time script will fire that will add all colored variants of that weapon to your spell list. E.g. upon reading the Bound Sword spell tome you will have a total 7 bound sword conjuration spells to choose from (the default color plus the additional 6 in this mod).

2) Use console commands, additem menu, Proteus, etc. to add the desired spell tome to your inventory: all recolored bound weapons have an accompanying spell tome for that weapon type and color. Acquire the desired spell tome, read it, and get your recolored bound weapon.

Crafting

You can craft your favorite bound weapon into a permanent equipment item that functions (mostly) like any normal weapon. Crafting is available for the default bound weapons and all colored variants. Crafted bound weapons will still receive bonuses attributed to bound weapons from the Conjuration skill tree, with the exception of Mystic Binding (in vanilla Skyrim the Mysitc Binding perk swapped out your starting bound weapon with a Mystic weapon that dealt more damage), which instead is used as a requirement to upgrade your weapons into Mystic versions of the base bound weapon.

-Crafted bound weapons are in your inventory and are equipped like any other weapon
-Crafted bound weapons ARE NOT VISIBLE on your character until you draw them. Upon drawing your weapon your character will perform the corresponding 'draw' animation for the weapon type and you will see the weapon then materialize in your hands. This was a stylistic choice, and can be reversed for a future add-on update.
-Bows and arrows are visible on your character at all times, like normal bows and arrows. This is due to how Skyrim handles mesh files for bows and arrows and I don't have the knowledge or care to come up with a fix.
-I do not believe you can put an enchantment on a crafted bound weapon; they have a default enchantment already.

Crafting Requirements:

-Crafting occurs at any smith's forge
-You need to know the corresponding bound weapon spell (e.g. to craft a red 2h axe you need have the Bound Battle Axe - Red spell)
-Crafting ingredients for all bound weapons are 1 common soul gem (unfilled, filled probably works too) and 1 Daedra Heart
-You can upgrade your bound weapon to Mystic level once you have the Mystic Binding perk unlocked. I don't know how/if this works with perk mods, I haven't tested it yet.
-Crafting ingredients for Mystic bound weapons are ONLY the base level bound weapon (e.g. unlock Mystic Binding, go to a forge with your Red Battle Axe in your inventory, craft a Mystic Red Battle Axe).

Have an Update Request?

If you have a request for a specific color please leave a comment. I don't want to clutter up the main mod with too many requests so I'm thinking I'll make separate add-ons for individual or packs of additional colors.

If you'd like to see a specific weapon model (as a replacer for bound weapons or a whole new weapon) please check that mod author's permission first, then link the mod page for me to take a look.
