About this mod

Adds 4 more ranks to the Fists Of Steel perk.

Permissions and credits
Adds 4 ranks to the Fists of Steel perk, for a total of 5 ranks, dealing a maximum of 5 times the base armor of your heavy armor gauntlets plus your base unarmed damage. For reference these are the damage increases per base armor, multiply it by the perk rank to see how much base damage you would add:
Iron - 10
Steel - 12
Dwarven - 13
Steel Plate - 14
Orcish - 15
Ebony - 16
Dragonplate - 17
Daedric - 18

Requirement for perk ranks:
Rank 1 (unchanged) - 30
Rank 2 - 45
Rank 3 - 65
Rank 4 - 80
Rank 5 - 100

This is a .esp inside a .zip file, so NMM/whatever should install it fine, but I manage all my mods by hand, so I haven't tried it. If it doesn't for whatever reason, just drop the .esp in your "Skyrim Special Edition/Data folder".

Q/A

Q: What race/armor was used in the screenshots?
A: The screencaps were done with Iron Gauntlets equipped, on a Nord character.

Q: My legendary daedric gauntlets offer [a lot] of defense, why can’t I get that much damage added to my punches?
A: I blame Bethesda. The way their vanilla perk works is by seeing what gauntlets you are wearing, and adding a spell that increases your unarmed damage by a static amount depending on that info. The only way I can think of to get that info in real time would be to constantly have a script run that would check and modify the characters unarmed damage value in real time, if I could even get that to happen. And even after that having a script that runs non-stop could/would (in my relatively limited understanding) cause save bloat, and/or lag.

Q: Will enchantments increasing unarmed damage work with this mod (gloves of the pugilist)?
A: Yes, enchantments should work fine but keep in mind that the perks only affect HEAVY armor. The gloves of the pugilist are light armor and would have to be disenchanted.

Q: Does this mod use scripts that would bloat my save?
A: No, I didn't use any scripts at all in this mod so in theory, it should have a negligible impact on save size.

Q: Will this mod work with [insert mod]?
A: Depends. If [insert mod] modifies the FistsOfSteel perk, one of the mods will overwrite the other. Other than that there shouldn't be any major issues I don't think.

Q: Does this use the 1 handed skill at all/Can you make it use the 1 handed skill?
A: No and possibly, but if I did it would be in a different mod and I would have to go about it in a completely different way.

Q: How should I uninstall?
A: I would Legendary your heavy armor skill tree to get any perk points back, and then yank it from your load order. That should work since there are no running scripts, but I would keep some backups just in case.
