Seems like there is some confusion. I'm gonna duplicate the message here, to clarify why you don't see real names right away:
Obscuring Names is enabled by default in NND 2. In order to get NPCs names, you have to speak to them. You can toggle off this feature by pressing Right Ctrl + O
This also implies that if an NPC is your enemy, you just can't get their name since you obviously aren't going to become friends anytime soon. The exception is Dragons, though: you always know their names since each dragon has its own unique name that is basically a Shout, so they use these Shouts to refer to any individual dragon, and... let's say being a Dragonborn has its perks
Hmm, either something marked her as non unique, or you're seeing a copy of original Serana I'll need some logs/screenshots from troubleshooting guide to provide a more precise answer.
When using this mod in conjunction with Legendary Bosses, humanoids which roll legendary appear as "Legendary John Smith (John Smith)". Any suggestions on what I need to configure to remove the doubled name?
Thanks. I've checked the mod. I see why this happens, the mod gets display name and then modifies it. I'll try to think of a way to support that behavior.
Hey That's default Obscuring Names feature, which makes all names unknown until you speak with NPCs. It's mentioned in the sticky post literally above this comment.
Been using this mod since I found it, and now you've fixed the TrueHUD issue! Thank you for your hard work, can't wait to run it through the updated version again.
I'm curious is there a way to make NPC bandits that have already names not to be affected by NPC names. The ones that come to mind Bashnag (Southfringe Sanctum) and Morvarth (Morvarth's Lair).
Mod works decently- I honestly only use it because i want more named dragons- but for some reason it keeps renaming the NPC clones added by BUVARP SE RE - Barely Used Vanilla Actors Recycle Project. And I did read your directions, but I suck at most ini configurations. How do i get it to stop renaming those?
If you want to only have named dragons you can uninstall other naming packs like Tamrielic Names that affect humanoid NPCs alternatively unwanted renamings require some easy patching. I can try looking into mods which have their NPCs renamed. Maybe there is already a patch out there.
Sure will! I didn't realize I had that active- then again, I don't know much about what I'm doing with anything powerofthree dependent. Thanks for the tip!
Haven't played Skyrim in a little while but was wondering if the conflict with TrueHUD was resolved in any of the recent updates or is that still on TrueHUD's side?
Hey, unfortunately no, this is still on TrueHUD's side. And I don't think there ever was another update of it. At least my PR is still pending
Actually, I might give it another look, maybe there is some workaround I could deploy on NND's side to circumvent the issue that blocks on TrueHUD's side. Thanks for reminding me if all goes well, I'll drop a 2.5.5 later today.
Hi Mod is working really nice, i just happen to have a strange behavior with the dll: It makes SKSE start in the background, keeping Mod Organizer 2 window on top. I just have to click the SKSE icon on the taskbar and game window goes on top.
Everything related to my current setup: - SSE Display Tweaks (Borderless=true) - Mod Organizer 2 - SKSE 64
It's nothing serious, just wanted to ask if it's a known behavior.

Literally sticky comment above
The most basic code would look like this:
Keyword = NNDUnique|Bashnag,Morvarth
This should ensure they are not renamed.

Could be a feature instead of bug if you're doing some sort of Sheo-centric playthrough, lol.
