Slip of Slopes functions well for me but your mod does not somehow, I do not get the mod menu for MCM neither does anything change if I change the values in the settings file. But the script works because I get the slow effect after tripping.
I have to say that I try to install this mod over the Wildlander modpack, MCM Helper works fine for any other mod. This is not the first mod I added but the first which uses MCM, I'll try some stuff and see if I can manage to make it work. Thanks for the Response!
EDIT: This did the trick setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1
Would it be possible to separate the slow and speed buff in the script and MCM menu? I want the punishment of jumping to far and stumble + be slowed down after that but I do not want the speed buff.
EDIT (2023): Mod has been working flawlessly since the last update, thanks!
Hi MaskedRPGFan, I've been spending a few days trying to debug this but I'm not sure what's causing the issue.
So with your MCM active it seems the mod triggers quite inconsistently. Regardless of what I set up in the MCM, the ragdoll animation always plays (even if it's a minor 1 HP hit). Another time the ragdoll animation doesn't trigger at all. One thing that consistently happens is that I don't see the notification message nor the infobox, it's not logged into Notification Log either.
When it's with existing saves, it won't trigger. So I started a new game and installed mods incrementally to test, it triggers but always trigger regardless of the damage threshold.
I went through the description of your problem again and it looks like the SlipOffSlopesPlayerAliasScript.pex script from my mod is not being used. Maybe it is not installed or is overwritten by another one.
Make sure that Vortex has not overwritten this script with another one - from the base mod.
Okay, I fixed it! I'm not completely sure what actually happened here, but...
I decided to uninstall the original Slip Off Slopes. I put everything from that mod into yours and let your script overwrites theirs. And magically it just works! Complete with the notification message. I suppose somehow your script gets overwritten, but I'm not sure how exactly.
One more small request: I just realized that when we ragdoll we don't play any sound like we do when we take damage from falling. Would it be possible to add that one?
Tested it around 15-20 minutes. Works for me! There is a very brief/slight delay between the time the ragdolling happens and the player touches the ground as you can see here: https://gfycat.com/slowbitterhoki but I think I'm being a bit too nitpicky about it.
Sorry. One small request: would it be possible to have the fall distance and damage received as notification message instead of messagebox/infobox?
Having both this and Skyrim Souls active results in kinda wacky situation with messagebox/infobox (my character would ragdoll into the sky). Additionally, making this as a notification message would be useful to log with Notification Log SSE.

Slip Off Slopes description: When you take fall damage, you twist your ankles and ragdoll.

Do you mind checking it out? Here's my load order. https://loadorderlibrary.com/lists/debugging-slip-off-slopes-mcm
Make sure you have powerofthree's Papyrus Extender.
I do have po3's Papyrus Extender but I just realized they updated it to 5.2.0 (still have 5.1.1). Let's what updating does...
Your LO looks fine too, so please make some minimal setup, only with ui mods ant test it.

Thanks so much for the mod and the help so far!
So I'm not exactly sure which audio file the game uses for the fall damage hurt sound. But browsing sound\voice\skyrim.esm\malenord, I found these:
dialoguegeneric__0001717e_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0001717f_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0003e249_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0003e24a_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0003e24b_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0003e9a1_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0003e9a2_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0003eefd_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__00042ed2_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__00042ed3_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__00042ed4_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__00042ed5_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__0005073e_1.wav
dialoguegeneric__000b8a05_1.wav
They're all hurt sounds. That's only for malenord though, need to look for other voice types. Does this help?
I need to take a look for other voice types though (argonian, khajiit, females, etc)...
Anyway thanks a lot as always MaskedRPGFan!
Please check it and tell me if it works for you.
I think this delay is unavoidable because of the use of the script.
I hope you can add some running speed buff / debuff depending on the slope amount. That would make the game far more realistic :-)

Thanks a lot in advance! Endorsed nonetheless.
