    SOME OBSERVATIONS:

    - If you use TK Dodge RE and you mapped your dodge button to Circle/B you will probably dodge whenever you close the dialog options menu. I found two solutions to this problem:

    • Option #1: Install TK Dodge and do not check "Enable Sheated Dodge" option, this will prevent you from Dodge if your weapons are sheathed and download Auto Sheathe Weapons, it makes you sheathe your weapons automatically when you enter the dialog options with NPCs, so when you press dodge button the menu will just close without you dodge.
    • Option #2 (My Recommendation): In TK Dodge RE.ini leave the defaultDodgeEvent option empty, you will no longer be able to dodge unless you are moving and so when you press the dodge button during the dialog menu you will not dodge.

    - I recommend setting L1 button as the block button in Dual Wield Parrying Reimplementation for SSE.

Thanks for using my mod. XD

If anyone's having issues with reseting their controls after loading this mod try this.

Open steam and right click on skyrim.

Click manage and then browse local files.

Create a new text document within skyrims directory named

    Steam_appid

Now open the text document and add the numbers

    489830

This is special editions steam Id.

Once done load the game and reset controls to default.

    Should be good to go!

Did this make the custom controlmap work for you or was this just to get it to go to the vanilla layout?

Using Vanilla #2 & having a problem with setting a key for "ChargeItem". The key is set to !0,Shout which is "A+RT" so it's impossible to use in the inventory. I try to set it to the "X button" but then I am not able to drop items from inventory. Suggestions?

EDIT: Nvm, I forgot RB is set for ChargeItem in Vanilla (The same as Sort key if using a UI mod) I unmapped the DPad in inventory & set Dpad Up as ChargeItem.

I wish to add something in case people can't get their controls to work.

Firstly: If you're installing this midgame, make sure that "customcontrolmap" is NOT in your Skyrim folder, this file gets made when you customize controls in game, also make sure after customizing your controlmap you reset the controls ingame (open options, default controls for me it was Y).

Secondly: when customizing in the controlmap.txt file make sure the columns all match up evenly, this is very important.

Finally: Always make sure you keep a backup of the default Controlmap in case things go sideways, the great thing about having this mod though is all you have to do is reinstall it and select the uninstall option for your controlmap to return to standard controls, just remember afterward to delete the customcontrolmap file from your Skyrim folder.

Hope this helps anyone out, I've spent hours figuring out crazy and cool ways to customize the controlmap, and it all started with this mod here, give your love to Granhadd! the best controlmapper EVER!

I know I'm a little bit late lol but I just wanted to say how much this mod helped me out when it comes to creating controller maps. I went from having no idea how to customize my own buttons to remapping everything how I wanted it.

For example: after mapping the controller keys how I wanted them I then unmapped EVERY keyboard key, this might sound weird but you see I use a xbox keyboard connected to my controller, so by unmapping the keyboard controls I've now gained 47 keys to use as hotkeys for whatever mods I want, this opens up so many possibilities you'd never even think about before.

anyway in short, love what you do, keep up the good work!

I'm not sure what you mean by "set your in game controls to default" in order to implement the layout.

Anyone care to explain this to me, thanks in advance.

To set game controls to default in Skyrim, you can:

      • Press Escape while in the game
      • Click Controls
      • Press T for default

I tried map the sneak key to B for Ultiamte Dodge, but it does nothing. I reset my keymaps and the game recognizes Sneak as the B key. Pressing it doesn't cause me to sneak or dodge.

I know this is an issue on my part. This mod seems to run well. Here's what I have here (providing rows above and below just to see if I broke the formatting somehow--apart from how it already is broken by pasting it here):

    Sprint                0x38                0xff    0x0040                1    1    1    0x801
    Shout                0x2c                0xff    0x0100+0x8000        1    1    1    0x840
    Sneak                0x1d                0xff    0x2000                1    1    1    0x881
    Run                    0x2a                0xff    0xff                1    1    0    0x801

l found a bug maybe mod conflict maybe game problem.

when group x(0x4000) with lb rb(0x0100+0x4000) ,the hotkey dont works.
you must put x In front of the lb rb (0x4000+0x0100),it can be used.
and only x have the problem,y b a are all normality,l havent try any other key with x.

I believe it's a game problem, unfortunately you can't do all the combinations you can imagine, this controlmap thing is more trial and error until you find a good combination of keys that the game recognizes.

why, what the meaning of hotkey? can l add more hotkey beyond the 8 you set to avoid problem like this?

Yes, it is possible but it is a lot of trial and error, I managed to do this in my current controlmap (Controlmap 2 by Granhadd)
Take a look to get an idea, I managed to create a Hotkey 9 and set it to RT for the shortcut I wanted, A+RT, to open the spell menu.

Hey, sorry if this was already asked but I couldn't find anything in these comments. I don't really understand what your controlmap files are doing. I don't see how these files are adding an option for OCPA; they just seem to be some various re-bindings. Are you just un-binding R2 (which is 0x000a) and then binding it to Power Attack in the OCPA MCM menu? I ask because I already did that in my own custom controlmap file, and when I press R2, nothing happens with OCPA and I'm out here searching for a solution. I just saw this mod of yours and I'm trying to understand what it does.

Yes, this is exactly a re-binding of the game's controls, opening the possibility of using several mods that need extra buttons like One Click Power Attack and dodge mods.
In the first versions of my mod I added the OCPA file already configured for R2, but since it started having an MCM I no longer saw the need, if you are unable to bind R2 in the OCPA's MCM I recommend that you go back to its page and look for a solution there because I can't help, for me it always worked as it should.
