It would be cool if they were not for sale, but distributed in the world to find while exploring

If it's not appearing in Khajiit stock, it's because you have a mod conflict. This mod edits the khajiit caravan container list. So you either have to make a Bashed Patch or you have to edit the container lists yourself via SSEDIT

Have a question for anyone who has used this mod before. I haven't played Skyrim for 3 years, and back then I used this mod and bought a perk point potion from the khajit with no problem. However, I've just started another playthrough. I have seen the khajit outside Whiterun and they are not selling the perk point potion. I've yet to complete Bleak falls Barrow and to discover that I am the Dragonborn. I don't suppose this is why the potion isn't being sold yet is it? I ask because on the description page for this mod, it says "Perk Point Potion mod adds a new potion called "Elixir of Insight", by drinking the potion, Dovahkiin gets an extra Perk Point". So I presume my character must discover he's the Dovakiin before he can buy this potion. Thought I'd ask just in case I may have modded my game wrong. If my game is wrong i'll start again because this mod is wonderful to add the occasional late in the game.

Is there any chance tha you will made a craftable version of it? I remember a mod in Oldrim that you could craft a similar potion smelting 10,000 gold at a forge

I love this mod! I've done a few personal edits of my own with it.

    1. I've made it so that the base cost is 5000 gold (I find this a bit more reasonable, seeing as executing the Emperor himself cost 20,000 gold and Proudspire Manor costs 25,000 gold. I figure this type of potion would be extremely expensive, but not something that would necessarily bankrupt a wealthy Nobleman. Of course it will likely cost more seeing as I'm purchasing it, but I do like the idea that if my player character comes across a lot of money mid or early game, I can choose to buy this potion instead of perhaps buying spells, weapons, or armor.

    2. I've made it so that only Risaad sells the potion. Related to point 1, such an expensive and (presumably rare) potion like this wouldn't be sold by any shopkeep. This is something that would only be in the hands of a master alchemist or a collector. I've also edited the beginning of the potion description to say "Made from rare ingredients found in Elsweyr. [insert your description]". This makes it so that there is a lore-explanation why this potion isn't widely available and why the player can't create this type of potion themselves. On that point specifically, I think it's a good idea that the player can't make this potion themselves (they simply don't have access to the right ingredients). Unless you do it a fairly complicated manner, there is no way a potion like this wouldn't end up being unbalanced.

    3. If I was to have any suggestions at all, it would be if you could possibly give it a unique appearance. Perhaps using one of the models from "Awesome Potions" or some other potion mod out there. Hell you could just recolor it to look like a black extreme carry weight potion. But's honestly just a pretty minor nitpick.

I really enjoy this mod. I didn't even know it was possible to add perks without using SKSE. You've definitely earned an endorsement from me.

I'm glad that you like it, thank you for your feedback and endorsement!
I share your point of view about the mod, except the base cost of 5000. In early game you can easily get Perk Points by leveling up your character's primary skills, if that's not enough you can always level up low-priority skills such as Alchemy, Speech, Pickpocketing etc.

The main idea behind the mod is to provide a (non-cheating) way of getting perk points when all the skills of the character have reached their cap or have become too difficult for leveling up. (There wasn't Legendary Edition of Skyrim at the time when the mod had been initially released in 2012). I believe that 30 000 base cost is pretty fair price for the potion. With level 100 of Speech and 5/5 of haggling perks + fortify barter potions/gear you can get the potion just for 31 500 septims ([BaseCost] + 5% markup), and in late game you can easily farm gold by crafting weapons/armor (with high Smithing, Enchanting, Alchemy skills) and then sell them for a good amount of gold.

I'm going to update the potion's description as you suggested and make it available to buy only from Khajiit caravan merchants.
Thanks for such a nice idea!

About "unique appearance" - can't promise, but maybe will do some retexturing in future updates.
Unlike SE version, the vanilla version of Skyrim still requires SKSE for adding perk points.

EDIT: Just updated the mod as calfurius suggested:
      - Updated in-game description of the potion.
      - Potion is no more available in the alchemy shops, it can be bought only from Khajiit merchants.

With the way my game is set-up, leveling is pretty slow the player character (and I use CCO, so my character already has pretty good stats starting out). I've also have a few economy overhauling mods so making gold is a lot more difficult. I suppose my idea is that I like to think of the potion as something my character could maybe afford every now and again mid-game. 5000 septims is a s#*! ton of money for my playthrough.

If anybody wants my version of the mod, with the reduced cost and only being available at Khajiit Merchants. Here it is:

If I were to make it player Creatable I would probably make it through a ritual / complex multistage potion. Think the gauntlet under College, mixed with that one quest where  you have to collect vials and pour them into basin. Probably a combination where you have to collect some of the most expensive ingrediants, mix them to make multiple potions, and then put them into multiple basins in the correct order, if the order, or potion has any mistakes, it fails / damages you and the ingredients. Possibly get false positives with a potion that takes away a perk point
Sorry for the rant, but your writing got me thinking.
