Reduces Follower, Enemy, Dog and NPC Idle, Social, Greeting and Combat chat/bark/taunt frequency

"Once you use STFU, you'll never go back!" #fakenews

Skyrim Version
Fallout4 Version

IMPORTANT NOTE: this _ONLY_ affects the frequency of idle/passive/combat commentary and the distances at which comments will trigger. Something that hopefully will not affect gameplay seriously, such as the ability to communicate, hear the necessary dialogue etc. I'm fairly certain it won't break anything and should work with all follower mods, custom quests etc. Please do inform me if you find any issues, I'll make patches for any incompatibilities if they arise.

Followers taunt their enemies or comment on the fight less often
The minimum period between taunts is up from 10 seconds to 5 minutes

Enemies taunt during the fight less often
The minimum period between taunts is up from 10 seconds to 5 minutes

Followers comment on your actions less often
The minimum period betweeen comments is up from 20 seconds to 5 minutes

Followers are less likely to idle chat, also less often
The minimum period betweeen comments is up from 10 seconds to 5 minutes, plus they need to be closer to you

Followers are less likely to complain if you brush into them
Although they still get annoyed if you run into them full on

Followers are less likely to chat socially, also less often
The minimum period between social chat is up from 10 seconds to 1 minute

NPCs greet and comment less often
The minimum period betweeen comments is up from ~3 seconds to 1 minute

Dogs will bark less often (optional)
The minimum period betweeen barks is up from 10 seconds to 4 minutes, although there are various barks that may take place at first

If like me you find that some of the followers talk way too much and repeat their comments to the point of it being absurd, this is the mod for you. It doesn't completely remove their chat, but reduces it to a sane level. In my opinion this makes the game more immersive, especially during a combat or stealth missions. Walking through cities now feels more realistic.

In addition, awesome follower mods with loads of voiced lines now feel much less forced and it will spread out their various idle and social lines through your playthrough. At first it might seem a little quiet compared to normal, but seriously what a relief to not have repetition to the point of insanity. Give it a little time to get used to the quieter, less annoying world and let me know if you have any suggestions!

UPDATE: 1.1 reduces dog barking as a separate option (Thanks to user radzio2k for the suggestion.) - the name STFUbitch refers to a female dog, so please don't get offended. I'm happy to change this if the Moderators find it offensive - apologies up-front.

UPDATE: 1.2 followers will not complain as much about you bumping into them and also further reduced combat commentary

UPDATE: 1.3 slightly increases the chance of social interactions (but not the frequency) and adds enemies to the description, since I hadn't specified that enemies also taunt less during combat

UPDATE 1.4 slightly increases the chance of social interactions (again, was still too quiet in cities) and some minor tweaks to comments on your actions

Install

Drop the esps in your data folder and enable one or both or just install using the NMM or similar mod manager - manually disable either if you don't want them, the default is both enabled.

STFU.esp is for followers, enemies and NPCs
STFUbitch.esp is for dogs

You may in some cases need to "rehire" your follower to trigger the change, make sure to have STFU near the end of your load order to make sure they STFU!

Compatibility

This should be compatible with everything.
