Mod adds a sailable ship to Solitude Docks Solitude Lighthouse. It's available for purchase for 20k gold from a note pinned to a board at Solitude Lighthouse entrance. After purchase wait for ~24 hours and the ship will be there.

v1.05 adds Large longship to Dawnstar and Katariah to Raven Rock.
v1.07 adds Bretic Carryk from Ships and boats of Tamriel to Solitude Lighthouse (big thanks to DeviantKaled for allowing me to use his assets).
v1.1 adds Redguard Nakhali from Ships and boats of Tamriel to Solitude Lighthouse.
v1.11 adds Bretic Rennenboat from Ships and boats of Tamriel to Orphan's Tear, you can borrow it from bandits located there.
Added two more boats to toy with, one to Lake Ilinalta and other one to Lake Honrich.
v1.12 adds Bretic Greyteship from Ships and boats of Tamriel to Solitude Lighthouse.

Get Sailable Ship Missions when you are ready to sail for profits.

INSTALLATION

By installing this mod you agree that the mod will make following changes to your Skyrim.ini dynamically, in order to make the mod function properly:
- fRoomscaleMovementSnapDistance under VR section will be changed to a higher value when walking on deck while the ship is moving to make walking around deck more stable in VR. When not it will be switched back to original value. (if VR version is detected)
- bDisablePlayerCollision under Havok section will be toggled shortly during teleportation to other worldspaces and when reloading a ship model.
- while mod is installed border regions will be disabled. This change is reverted after uninstallation.
- install the mod, load order shouldn't matter. Please use a throwaway save until you are absolutely sure that you want to keep it in your Skyrim installation.

UNINSTALLATION

- go into interior cell (not Captain's Cabin) and save game. Exit the game and uninstall mod. Reload your save with mod unistalled and save it again. Use Fallrim Tools on that last save to clean it up.

UPDATING

- going into any interior cell (including Captain's Cabin) is recommended before updating from previous versions.

FEATURES

- sailable ship that can sail to other worldspaces
- tested working in VR (with and without VRIK) and SE/AE.
- fairly realistic wind simulation for maximum immersion (ship ain't going anywhere without wind and sailing straight upwind doesn't work)
- wind shifts direction on average every game hour (less frequent with higher timescale), at day it blows mainly from west to east while at night it tends to shift direction
- ship speed and direction can be controlled with VR controller or gamepad when at helm of the ship. Ship can also be controlled via keyboard while walking on deck (works best when binded with Dragonborn Speaks Naturally voice commands)
- five new worldspaces added: Azurian Sea, Abecean Sea, Southwest Padomaic Ocean, South Padomaic Ocean and Padomaic Ocean (all are sea only)
- cozy Captain's Cabin
- customizable color and sails of the ship
- mod detects and uses supported worldspace mods that you installed dynamically, so no patch clusterf**k
- you can add your own custom music while sailing with optional plugin
- sail while in interior
- ship exterior night lighting (requires LLF)

QUIRKS

- fairly script heavy, please use a throwaway save for a while until you are sure that the mod works for you
- walking on deck while the ship is moving is unstable. There's a chance of flying off the deck if ship moves fast enough.
- while moving ship uses collision trigger in front. This trigger only detects objects like statics but not ground.
- when first teleporting to new addon worldspace return marker will not be visible, save and reload to make it visible
- followers, horses etc. are not supported, use a follower manager that teleports them back to you
- when using VRIK at helm body will awkwardly turn independently of ship direction.
- player can end up in water for a moment during teleportation. This can trigger survival mods in cold regions.
- activation triggers for cabin and customization can conflict with ship activator, aim with controller high above ship to work around this
- sails are not animated:(
- if you have jerky ship movement try to ensure that you are getting stable 60FPS (or install Papyrus Tweaks NG)
- avoid saving while at helm to avoid getting stuck after loading in SE (hopefully fixed in 1.02)
- SE only: i had trouble returning from Vominheim because map marker was outside of map restrictions. Relaxing map constraints in addon mod itself would solve this (i'm not doing that). If you know your way around xEdit you can do it yourself or you can rely on compass and memory to find return marker. From version 1.06 you can use 'Ship Move to Interior' power while at helm for easy navigation.

INSTRUCTIONS

- you can switch between helm and walking on deck by activating the ship while it's moving
- 'Ship TA Toggle' lesser power will be added to player after activating the ship, use it to toggle time acceleration On/Off
- you can anchor ship by activating it when it's stopped
- Ship activator name will change to show what it will do, unhover to refresh

- keyboard controls:
RUDDER LEFT - Numpad 7 (continuous)
RUDDER RIGHT - Numpad 9 (continuous)
RUDDER CENTER - Numpad 8
INCREASE SPEED - Numpad +
DECREASE SPEED/REVERSE - Numpad -
TA INCREASE - Numpad *
TA DECREASE - Numpad /

- controller (only active at helm):
Increase/decrease ship speed - FWD/BACK
Turn ship left/right - LEFT/RIGHT
Enter/Exit Helm - Activate Ship

- when upwind ship turns faster with reefed sails, this allows tacking through the wind
- entering Captain's Cabin and customizing ship is only available when ship is anchored. From version 1.06 you can use 'Ship Move to Interior' power to move to ship interior while sailing.
- to travel to other worldspaces from supported mods you must have them installed (duh). Then you must read Navigation book in Captain's Cabin. This will enable map markers for worldspaces you can travel to.
- teleportation activates when teleport trigger gets loaded, you need to be fairly close
- time acceleration is active only at helm and switches itself off while walking on deck
- if player gets far enough from ship while it is still sailing, ship will anchor itself
- activating ship while swimming will teleport player back to deck
- if short on cash to buy a ship you can enter 'player.additem f 20000' into console
- there's a cheat/debug mode available by entering 'set aaaShipEnableCheat to 1' into console. This will make ship move at 3x speed regardless of wind direction. It can be activated by clicking above helm (anchor ship after enabling cheat to make it appear). No walking on deck in this mode, activating the ship will anchor it immediately.
Set this to 2 to only disable wind affecting ship speed.

RECOMMENDED MODS

- Navigation Add-On for Sailable Ship VR and SE for more ship control with VR controllers

- Cubemap Reflections for water cubemap reflections in VR
- DynDOLOD for more epicness
- Storm Lightning for SSE and VR for fancy looking storms at sea
- GKB Waves Reborn for nice looking shore waves
- Papyrus Tweaks NG with Main Thread option enabled for faster script execution (allows for higher time acceleration)
- Real Clouds by Soolie for nice 3D clouds (Oldrim mod so recommended to convert to SSE before using)

WHAT'S NEXT?

Not promising anything but here's what i'd like to see in the future:
- add more sea worldspaces around Tamriel until we can sail around it (done in 1.03), also add support for more addon worldspaces along the way
- mod begs for cargo hauling/NPC transfer missions, i'm not experienced with that but will probably try at least (started with Sailable Ship Missions)
- more ships, at least vanilla ones (done in 1.05)
- this one is far fetched but: AI ships (merchants, military, pirates, factions), boarding, playing as a pirate or as a merchant avoiding getting plundered by pirates..the usual stuff.
(fellow modders are most welcome to add their own content)
