This mod is great! Though, how would one edit the mod to make the duration the torches last be shorter? Was wondering because I prefer the 4 minute durations of the vanilla game and wanted to have more resource management
This mod is amazing but after about 20 hours of using it I've noticed my torch timer sometimes climbs ridiculously.
I'm using the 30 min version and it works great 99% of the time, but occasionally I'll see it show a torch with 33 minutes remaining. Once it burns out, things are normal again for a few hours then suddenly I get another one that's supercharged. Right now I'm holding a torch with 184 minutes remaining, I have no clue how this happens.

Have you ever saved the game with a torch out, exited Skyrim completely, relaunched Skyrim, and loaded the same save with your torch already out? If you have, that is what is causing the crazy torch durations. There is a slight flaw with this mod in that if you do what I said above, the variables in the script won't record properly and you end up with incorrect times. So just make sure when you save and exit the game you don't have a torch out. Saving and loading a game with your torch out in the same game session without exiting Skyrim is fine. It's only when you exit Skyrim completely with a torch out that the error happens. I did write a new script which in theory should fix the flaw, but I'm taking a break from Skyrim modding at the moment because of real life, and don't have time to test it right now.
That is EXACTLY what was happening; I suspected it was save-related because I noticed the issue occurring especially around points where I was testing something else by often quicksaving. Thanks for the heads up and no worries, it's an amazing mod, just gotta remember not to save/exit with torch out from here on.
Is there a way to reset the quest/timer via console through setstage etc, so I can reset this 180 min torch?
It looks like you are removing an exploit to replace it with a new exploit. I really like this mod and if you have an update that can fix this bug, it would be really cool if you release it.
Another fix for it seems to be unequipping your torch, saving the game, quitting out then unchecking the mod in your mod loader of choice, then load your last save, check to make sure your torch is back to vanilla and working, unequip your torch again, save the game again, quit the game again, then reactivate the mod and load back into that new save and it should go back to working order. Though it will reset whatever time your torch was at before you fixed it, so if you have the 30 minute version like i do, it'll reset your torch to 30 minutes again even if you had burned it down to like 2 minutes before this bug occurred. Im just considering it compensation for the bug happening. basically a free torch :P (im not sure if unequipping your torch is actually necessary, but its what i did so im just recommending that incase its important for the fix)
Absolutely love this mod. I use it with 'Dynamically Darker Dungeons' & it's a real immersion & threat change when it runs out. Sadly a big downside is that NPC's appear to hold an invisible torch, because they have no doubt run the timer out. Would you happen to know anything about or around this?
This mod attaches a script to the player character, not the torch itself. So the script only triggers when the player equips a torch. Whatever is making your NPCs hold an invisible torch must be something else. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Then do it 3 more times with.
set ll_timeend to 0
set ll_timedifference to 0
set ll_timeremaining to 0
