    Updating from legacy versions require new save, since the form IDs have been recompacted.
    You may try to add & remove spells manually, however I do not provide support for this. Attempt at your own risk.

    =>PO3 Tweaks dependency removed, though no conflicts. Now using its offensive spell AI in the new skse plugin. Kudos to powerofthree and all the others who open source their work that let me learn more about SKSE.

    =>Fixed bat cloak visuals, it is now visible by default. Scrambled bugs is no longer a requirement UNLESS you use po3 tweaks too (If you are using powerofthree's tweaks, "Cast Added Spells on load" will break the cloak. Either disable that, or use Scrambled Bugs's attachHitEffectArt=true feature to fix it like previously.)

      >Read requirements carefully. Remove Serana or Valerica from your follower framework and see if it is a mod conflict. NFF is compatible. Import her with the recommended tweaks of NFF, if already in it remove and reimport her. Try in a new save and see if issue persists. Try to isolate the issue in your load order and report the incompatibility.

    • They transform with less enemy count than set in MCM?

      If the enemy is a BOSS, or is higher level than them, they will ignore the set enemy count. However, they will still wait for your HP percentage setting.

    • How to make a bug report?

      First question: "Does it work on a Vanilla setup?" If there is a feature that doesn't work as intended, give a detailed report on what exactly doesn't function. If a certain mod impairs the functionality of this mod, provide an xEdit screenshot, or the name and/or formID of the conflict. Keep in mind that I do modding as a hobby, and while I try to respond to every request carefully, sometimes it may not be possible.

    • SDA compatible?

      Compatible, but let this overwrite SDA (In plugin order) if you want her to use necromancy spells & vampire drains properly. (And if you have extracted BSA file of SDA, also make sure this overwrites SDA in install order) There is an experimental compatibility file in optional files too, cause I got reports saying SDA bricked transform after some time. Let me know whether it works or not.

    • Where is the MCM?

      Make sure you have downloaded MCM Helper. To refresh MCM, use console command "setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1" without quotes.

    • Vampiric Grip is not as strong as player version?

    • Where is Scrambled bugs.json?

      Inside skse/plugins/ScrambledBugs.json under patches category, there is a line called "attachHitEffectArt". change the "false" to "true" and save the file. MO2 users may see this in their overwrite section if they haven't configured a runtime output.


    Patching Appearance Replacers

    (Method 2 Recommended)

    Method 1: Load your visual replacers first, then this plugin in your load order. Open xEdit, load your visual replacer and this mod, go to NPC records and find Serana & Valerica. Drag and drop the headers of headparts, texture lighting, face morphs, face parts and tint layers from your visual replacer into this plugin. May ask to add masters, choose yes. Save & close.

    Method 2: Copy all of the record headers mentioned above into a new plugin, using the xEdit "copy as override into" function, and selecting one of the new plugins at the bottom of the list. (preferably an ESP flagged as ESL). Save the new plugin and load it as any other mod in your load order, below the visual replacer and this mod. This saves you from the trouble of changing your original mod plugins.

      Haven't used nolvus, if you can check conflicts in xEdit and see some sort of appearance mod (or any other) is conflicting, you may need to patch them.

      I already try that no conflict in xedit i even uninstall all vampire mod .... 

      I know it work with nolvus i played with my  last dead pc but now i can't get it work  ....:(

      Could you check the FAQ above and see if it helps. Maybe your MCM settings prevent the transformation, try by setting enemy count to 1 and required HP to 1. And as funny as it may sound, try restarting your PC with the restart option, not shut down and turn on. Windows fast boot did screw me before.

      If none of the above work, you may want to try on a vanilla profile in your mod manager with no mods installed. Don't disable your mods, just switch to a new instance and try only with requirements and the mod, try to isolate the issue there.

    The Valerica section in the MCM menu is empty, and I can't configure her. Do you have any idea what might be causing this? Nothing overwrites the mod.

    Can't belive this mod is so underrated! By far the best Serana VL transformation mod out here! Great job! Endorsed.

    I've seen that some ppl have problems using this with SDA, so I'm gonna leave my bit of info here, maybe it will help someone:

    Works with Serana Dialog Add-On and Daughter of Coldharbour - Moveset, however all three of them use DLC1SearanaLevelingScript.pex, so making changes mid-game to the script by using SDA's in-game mechanics may cause issues. In my case I don't intend to "teach" Serana any new spells later on, also replaced her vanilla spells and toggled off the gargoyle through Daughter of Coldharbour fomod installer. Tested combat multiple times with this setup at Serana lvls: 20 -> 28 -> 38 -> 48 -> 52 -> 58 -> 60 -> 70, without any issues => The transformations occurred as configured through this mod's MCM settings, all skills and combat behaviors performed as advertised by the authors. Hope this helps.

    can someone please help? i ve been using the mod just fine with "new vampire lord female se" but then i had to update my parallaxgen.esp and dyndolod.esp and now she doesnt transform into her vampire lord form. i tried to give her the vampire lord spell using proteus and she did transform (i could see her using the spells and she could fly around) but her vampire form wasnt visible at all... i also use daughter of coldharbour reimplemented but the author there mentioned that the mod is compatible with anyting

    Hi :) I had some questions. I'm using version 3.61 and made a lot of progress in my game on it. I've just started Dawnguard though and currently have the mod disabled via mcm (still enabled in mod manager) so haven't really experienced it. I was wondering if:

    a) that version is still okay without any major issues? If not then
    b) if you can make a later version (pre-3.84) e.g. 3.82 available so I can safely update without starting a new game?
    c) if I update to a later version, can I still safely keep the original mod by borgrut in my load order even though it's been merged and no longer required?

      I've unarchived 3.8.2
      Between those versions I have not recompacted the file, should be okay to update to 3.8.2
      borgut's records & scripts are all forwarded by the mod, hence no longer a requirement. Everything in that mod will be overwritten even if you keep it enabled so you can delete or keep it. PLEASE make a save before updating, to prevent unwanted problems in any case.

      Make sure you keep the MCM disabled and stay in a zone where she didn't just get out of combat, like go into a safe interior and wait for a few hours. Save, update.

      She can only use claws on dwemer & vampires in legacy versions. You may realize her avoiding spells completely, that's why. I balanced it out better in latest version.

      It's not unplayable, just feature incomplete and somewhat less convenient. She is more likely to fail to transform back, you just need to talk to her, no big deal. Just try to keep HP% at around 0.7-0.6 minimum cause it had a bug where she could die transforming and gets stuck, still fixable by healing and manually transforming her with "restoreav health 1000" "setrace dlc1vampirebeastrace" console commands and she should transform normally if she gets stuck in the animation. This was rare, but I still recommend not going too low values for HP setting.

      It requires duplicating everything per NPC, I don't plan on adding support to other NPC's for now.

    Hello, is there a chance to release a script that can convert a regular NPC into a vampire lord? I find it a bit complicated to view mods using SSEEdit, so I dare not add or delete them randomly

      You can try a follower framework like AFT to achieve that to a limited degree.

    I've been wanting this mod to come out since 2013, 2025 is finally out. 

    When will mist form and supernatural reflex be added?

    Also, can you allow us to use the vampire lord's abilities in the same way in human form?
    I find sacrosanct or other types of vampire lord mods unnecessary, I just wanted to be able to use the vampire lord's abilities in human form. I tried it myself with sseedit but the abilities were either not appearing and the ones that did appear were incomplete, you need to know the scripting, and I don't know.

    Hey bro, it's me again. Here to annoy you with question regarding SDA. I read from Lamae's Daughter mod page that:  

    SDA makes changes to a script called DLC1SeranaLevelingScript.pex. SDA uses it to add a spell toggle feature which allows the player to toggle her spells( turn off reanimate spells etc.). Maybe your edits to that script and SDA's version of the script has separate changes that messes up her "Brain".

    Does this mod also have problem with SDA, the mod was working when serana is of lower level and not having much spells to use but now at level 52 she have a lot more spell and is no longer transforming into VL no matter the MCM settings.

      I have tested her with a level 51 character, she seems to behave properly. Also how does she have more spells if she isn't transforming? Base form Serana has like 2 spells (that get upgraded) and resurrection. Others are VL specific. Did you install / update mid playthrough?

      I also don't see an MCM for SDA, only dialogue options. Keep in mind I don't really use SDA so may not be aware of SDA addons and such. Where is the toggle for her summon spells?

      SDA seem to give serana more spells since it introduced a player taught and serana level progression spell learning process. I know this by going into dialogue and talking tactics with her and with this I can toggle the spell she can use on or off. The ones I currently see is Chain lighting, ice storm, Thunderbolt(player taught), Reanimate, candle light. ice shiv (SDA apocalypse support I assume) and Vamp drain(vanilla). She might gain news ones as I level more or not. 

      I installed this mod on a fresh new playthrough. Below on the last thread my character was around level 20 and serana was not using a lot of spells in combat and I thought this is SDA's fault so I installed QoTD mod to give serana more versitility in combat. But then someone in the SDA thread said serana will use more spells as player level since she level with the player. So I uninstalled QoTD since it is skypatched mod which is most likely okay to be uninstalled mid playthrough. 

      But now she is not transforming to VL at all. Set 1 enemy and 100% health threshold transformation but still no response. I reinstalled the mod as well but no response. I use trueblood serana and I did the face tint and other thing with xedit and fixed the black face but no transformation still.

      There may be a conflict in your load order, mod added spells will be present in her vl form, it requires patching. However it should not prevent transform. Does SDA do this by using a custom quest, as you level up or something else and prompts you to teach? I don't see a teach option by default. Yet again shouldn't really interfere with transform itself.

      Edit: Yeah spells are irrelevant, can partially recreate the issue here.

      Can you try going back to a save where the mod used to work, and then extract the bsa of SDA into it's folder, then drag my mod above SDA, essentially letting SDA overwrite my version of leveling script? If you can confirm it prevents transform from breaking, I can provide a patch.

      Hey bro, I added SDA BSA file into your mod and allowed SDA to overwrite yours. Long story short nothing changed. I am currently at save 421 and having SDA BSA file in your mod and having SDA overwrite it still won't let serana transform into a vampire lord in combat. However I went back to save 218 and serana did transfrom and fought as vampire lord while using both forms. 

      You said you could partially recreate the issue. Did you try SDA with this mod on? Serana could transform early game but later lost this ability too? If this is the case a patch would probably help. Though I probably did not provide enough insight into the core of the issue.

      It can't fix the problem if it's already broken. However I already uploaded an experimental fix that carries the changes of SDA and mine into a single script, and this seems like the only conflict. I couldn't exactly pinpoint the issue but don't see anything else that can break the mod.

      If that works on your non-broken save, then the patch should work too, at least I hope.

      Does this mean if serana is not transforming in save 400 above the patch will not fix the problem but if serana is transforming in save 200 above it will make sure serana's leveling will not cause her to stop transforming when she reach a higher level. Thus meaning that this patch works better on a new save?

      Not better, only works on a non-bugged save. It's also experimental, I don't know. Don't see any other conflicts with SDA and tbh don't use that mod so that's all I can provide. In my fairly limited testing I couldn't get her to the bugged state again so assuming it was fixed.
