the mod seems to just simply not be working? i dont know if i need to put it lower in the load order or something, if yes where abouts? just as low down as i can?
Additional question. Would it be possible to do it the other way around? The first shout costs nothing, it activates the normal cooldown, but using it repeatedly drains magicka/stamina.
In short, the first cry doesn't cost anything, the others do. First of all, the mod is amazing, it's ideal for people who are looking for a certain fidelity to the lore.
Dragon's shouts already use Magicka in the base game as do all other NPCs which is why when you strike them with effects that deplete Magicka they cannot use shouts against you. It's just restriction placed on the player. (A stupidly unnecessary restriction)
Liked the idea of the original mod and was hoping for something like this, look forward to using it.
I do have a request :D What I wanted from the original mod was that shout use stamina instead with no magika as the words them self are magical and using stamina would represent how much breath you have as your using your voice to shout. Any chance of making an option that uses Stamina instead of magika? Would be great option for non mage character that don't invest in magtika and want to spam shouts for a bit. If no thanks anyway, will use the mod as is.
-As I was writing a question came to mind. Will enchanting affect shouts magika consumption? Some shout are affected by what magic skill you have, like destruction. will enchanting that reduces cost of spells affect shout as well and would maxing 100% cost reduction (so no cost) mean we will never run out of magika for certain shouts?
And thank you ctma for implementing it, gread mod! Only I notice that you haven't touched shouts from Dragonborn and Dawnguard, even though these DLCs are included in Special Edition... The 7 additional shouts will still work with your mod but their cooldowns magicka/stamina costs will not be adjusted to be balanced. I'll probably adjust them for myself but I'm not going to upload it.
P.S. I also suggest making fire/frost breath cost 110/155/200 (or even 120/160/200) instead of 60/100/200. I see that you have simply doubled their vanilla cooldowns, but vanilla has an oversight where using just one or two words out of these shouts is much more efficient in terms of damage in relation to cooldown (for example, the first word alone does 56% of the damage of the full shout with only 30% of the cooldown).
If I use a shout overhaul in addition to this mod (like stormcrown), do you think it would be better to load this mod before or after the overhaul? Would loading this mod after still apply the overhaul changes but keep the cooldown edits from this mod?
Also do you think you could include a list of the cd changes you made for shouts?
I never used that. If it adds new shouts, then my mod should apply automatically. Though I guess if it adds perks that reduce shout cooldown, they will be unbalanced, but still working.
Glad I stumbled upon this mod, seems like the best way to balance shouting. Especially that since shouts are considered a form of magic, lore-wise it makes a ton of sense. Only trouble I have is that if you take the Atronach stone while having Andromeda - Standing Stones of Skyrim installed, it wont use up magicka and you'll be able to spam shouts infinitely. The problem probably lies more with that mod than with yours though.
it's been working great so far but for some reason elemental fury doesn't seem to give the atk speed buff even though my wep doesn't have any enchantments or anything.
This is my only shout mod so not sure what im doin wrong. I checked SSEDIT and seems like Summermyst Enchantment mod has a bit of conflict on it but im not experienced enough to touch SSEDIT.
