*Also, sorry but I won't be doing patches for any mods I don't use; and also may not depending on whether it's something I actually know how to patch
and have the energy for.
All DLCs needed (Hearthfire, Dawnguard, Dragonborn)
In your Documents Skyrim.ini under [General] you should have border regions disabled, otherwise you won't be able to get past/near the gates.
Recommend of course this on a new game/you haven't visited the province borders yet. Doesn't alter the Cyrodiil/Pale Pass/'Bruma' border gate at all; and of course if you have anything else that edits navmesh and adds objects and such at the non-Bruma borders, they will probably conflict.
Most of the containers respawn, so best not to store things in them. Followers navmesh for each border go past the gates to about the end of where the carriages nearest the road are/where the first cell ends.
There is no actual 'location/map marker' set for any of them, so you'll have to travel to them yourself or somewhere near (Halldir's Cairn, Refugees Rest, Dayspring Canyon)
Hammerfell border:
-nobody has really bothered with this one, Jarl of Falkreath doesn't much care(seems to work with Xelzaz's gate guards, they just chill excepting when they fight the wolves)
-a few wolves to take care of who had attacked the dead horse you see and the two redguards who were once there
-a simple unique scimitar belonging to one of said deceased redguards
-beyond the gate is quite simple, a dead horse, a tent with bedroll, a cooking pot, knapsack, and a note.
Skyrim Northeastern border to Morriwind:
-There was a skirmish for this border; first it was held by imperials and then the stormcloaks took it back but due to monetary and manpower issues abandoned it sometime after.
-The 'Skyrim side'/forts ruin has a bed and a bedroll, a tanning rack, an armor workbench, a forge, and a smithing supplies container, and several simple regular enchanted imperial weapons/whatnot.
-Morrowind side you can see some of an abandoned trading/immigration post with stables, old marketplace stalls, an abandoned building.
-a small little area that refugees still coming through have set up with a couple bedrolls and knapsacks and a cooking pot and fire. As well as small shrines to Mephala, Boethiah, and Azura.
-some idles followers might use
(appears to work fine with the destroyed home added by Teldryn Serious, and the CC bonewolves that sometimes?? respawn in the little graveyard near it)
Skyrim Southeastern border to Morrowind:
-A couple Riften guards keep watch here, they have their own little setup on the Skyrim side with bedrolls and cooking and such. They'll respawn. They might go past the gate and hang out where the refugees little place is set up, because they just be like that.
-a dead imperial soldier who wandered too close. :p
-Morrowind side has again, a little refugee area set up but this time where a little marketplace once was against the wall, two bedrolls and a cooking pot and knapsacks.
-there are a few 'dirt hoppers'; all I did was alter the name since ash hoppers didn't quite fit. :p You'll still get the regularly named ingredients and such from them.
-beyond follower navmesh further down the road there's another little boarded up abandoned house with a small garden in back and a roadsign to riften.
-some idles followers might use
-some large mushrooms cause... mushrooms?
(seems to work fine with Xelzaz, if anything he'll now have some dirt hoppers to attack, and also seems to work fine with ESO Import's fort ruins that are a little ways before it, you'll just have to fight them to get through to the border. I suppose the gate guards and the bandits have some kind of truce, maybe)
