Very good, are you thinking about making a complement to Bruma?

Thank you! Most likely not - I have never played Bruma nor do I plan to in the future.

Why download facegen data when you can just replace the hair part itself? That way every npc's hair will be affected and it will be patchless. Idk how but VHR - Vanilla Hair Replacer has done it.

You NEED to update the FaceGenData because Skryrim doesn't dynamically build NPCs' FaceGenData on load, but rather loads the FaceGenData stored in the game files.

You can do so by either using the FaceGenData in the optional downloads (for people who don't use mods that alter the vanilla NPCs or add new NPCs) or exporting the FaceGenData for all NPCs from the CK for your specific load order (for people who do use such mods). VHR recommends and instructs to do the latter, as do I. I specified this in the Compatibility section of the mod page.

The thing is I'm using VHR rn and it's patchless. By that I mean when I download a new dlc, every new added npcs are automatically affected by the hair replacer yet this mod doesn't do the same and even if I download vanilla facegens I need to manually export other facegens.

From what I gather from VHR's mod page, you still need to export the FaceGenData.

I'm not sure what happened, but specifically Hilde bugged out and has hair going through her headgear.
Checked a very similar NPC in Whiterun, and that doesn't happen to em. No NPC overhaul is touching her, so that's weird.
Made her equip another hat, but that didn't help to hide the hair. Maybe I'm bad at searching, but a few stabs at Google didn't help, so as a "fix" nuked hats from the game.

Overall pleased with the mod though, maybe things will actually be better without them hats lol.

Weird.. I did not edit the hairs apart from changing the mesh they point to. Are the hats from a mod?

I have the most recent version of KS Hairdo's and there's about 6 or 8 meshes you're pointing to missing because they've been removed due to original author permissions. What version of KS Hairdo's was this mod built on so I can try to track it down? But  for now, I just pointed to different, similar meshes as a work around.

That's... not possible. My mod was made with the latest KS Hairdos version (1.9). Are you sure you're using the latest (full) version?

Apologies. I missed updating KS among all the mods wanting to update to AE versions.

if i wanna edit your mod to use other hairstyles instead do i need to to anything else to make it work or i just need to save on sseedit and thats all? .
Also please i would like an example of what i need to do in order to edit one of your hairstyles for another, i guess long hair and short hairstyles have different settings right?.
    Thanks for this great mod.

If you want to use different hairstyles, you need to alter the HDPT records in the .esp file to point to different meshes (.nif and .tri files). Furthermore, you need to export the FaceGenData of all NPCs that use these altered hairstyles. Before you do this, make sure that the desired hair meshes are installed.

If you don't want to use the male replacers, you can delete all HDPT records in the CC .esp file that point to male hairstyles in xEdit. Just be sure to delete all male FaceGeom data as well.

First of all perfect mod thank you for sharing exactly  what i was looking for my new playthrough. Now after i delete the HDPT records from CC.esp do i need to start a new playthrough to see the changes or it can happen at my current one. I am asking because i deleted the elderly meshes for males but Proventus Avenicci still has the "man-bun" hair, not a big deal i can live with it since your mod is worth it but i am simple asking if i can fix it for my current playthrough?

Thank you! Yes, you can alter it on your current playthrough by deleting all FaceGeom data (.nif files, found in meshes/actors/character/facegendata) of the NPCs that use the male elder hairstyles. Alternatively, you can regenerate their FaceGenData via the CK. Or just use Face Discoloration Fix.

How to delete all male FaceGeom data only?

Just delete all the HDPT records in the .esp file that point to male hairstyles and delete all FaceGeom data (.nif files) of male characters from meshes/actors/character/facegendata.

The point is how to tell which NIF file is male or female head? I have manage to do that by exporting only male heads with CK and by matching them (searching for duplicates in 2 folders and delete the dups) I have sorted them. BTW, I am not using ESP (neither yours or KS Hairdos) file and the mod still works for NPC. How is that possible?

Yours is probably the easiest way. You could alternatively export all male/female FormIDs out of SSEEdit into a text file and write a PowerShell script (assuming you're using a Windows OS) that deletes any .nifs that don't appear in the file, or something like that.

It's perfectly possible to use my mod without the KS Hairdos .esp. It also possible not to use my .esp I guess, but I'd advise against that. This might give you graphical errors along the way, and I don't offer support for the incorrect use of my mods.

I am pretty sure I messed up, but the script to remove unnecessary Apachii files removed literally all game data files. I am reinstalling my game.

I was getting a bunch of bald heads in the character creator before. Is that a familiar error or should I do more investigating?

I'm sorry my mod gave you this much trouble. I will double-check the scripts again, but they have worked for me and everybody else, so I reckon that something went wrong during your installation.

No, that is not a familiar error. It sounds like the CK couldn't find the specified meshes, which again, points to a faulty installation. I suggest that you do a clean reinstall. Make sure all required mods are properly installed before you install Comely Coiffures.

      Hi.
The script actually deleted some files that shouldn't have been deleted (some of the hair meshes) when I ran it. Thankfully for me, not all the game files were deleted.
And thank you so much for this. I love that you picked hairs that resemble the vanilla ones. And I really appreciate that you added comparison images.
