    Dear Yuril,
I am insanely amazed by such thorough improvements!!!

A humble question of the dummy me: description says that shack roof improvement requires SMIM, and I remember SMIM having an optional plugin (non-espfe) for its improved shack (and for few other things, which could be improved in other ways, without esp). I hit my plugin limit really hard and then I made all effort to get rid of every non-light plugin I could locate and sacrifice.

Does your description mean that THAT SMIM shack esp is required now?
    Sincerely, Che Ttako Sogo

You don't need the ESP of SMIM.You only need texture to make it work. :)

Great work. The old vanilla shacks (even with smim) looked weird and awkward. I just have a small request. Would it be possible to upload SHACK KIT ROOFS/WALLS meshes with an alternate texture path? The texture I chosen for floor planks in riften don't look that great on vertical walls, however an alternate riften retexture pack has something more fitting that looks perfect on shacks. The new path could be something like:

    FYX_riftencanalplanks01_n.dds
    FYX_riftencanalplanks01.dds

Just so anyone can manually pick and rename any texture with the same layout.

Any chance to have an alternate option without gaps that let the rain in? At least for the pieces that aren't supposed to be broken.

I don't know how it works, I think it can be done with an ESP that places invisible boxes so that the rain doesn't fall. But not sure.

One could add collisioni boxe everywhere but that'd be a huge amount of work and hardly compatible with anything. On the other hand rain I found that rain doesn't get in if the mesh doesn't have holes. I made a mod for the same purpose, simply removing transparency (sorry I don't remember the technical term right now) from vanilla shack roofs seems to turn them into actual shelters. Thing is, I only managed to make it work with ugly, flat vanilla meshes, if one could make a cool 3D mesh that's also hole-free that'd be awesome.

You mean rain passes through collisions? but not a full mesh?

I don't know if rain passes through collision, but adding collision has more compatibility issues.

Love all of your mods Yuril! I have a simple question - would you recommend re-doing DynDOLOD after adding these, or would these fixes not affect anything with LOD models? Thank you!

Hmm, I don't know...Without Dynlod, you risk seeing boards appear all of a sudden.^^

Hello and thank you for your work! A little bit strange that meshes in this mod are NiTriShape, not BSTrishape. All other meshes from you had a newer nif format. Was it planned?

First I wanted to see if with this format there would still be CTDs.
You can convert it with SSENifOptimizer if you mind.

The FYX series of mods is the definition of mods you didn't know you couldn't live without until you used them. Great work, I can't believe what a difference these make in the game visually.

Yes, please! About time too. All these years living with Bethesda's nonsensical wireframe roofs (Why?! Why would anyone go to the trouble of building a roof with regular gaps all along it?! In Skyrim - a cold, wet, windy country!?!). My OCD sighs with relief, and sends you heartfelt thanks.

From a logical pov, I would say vanilla schacks roof are not actual roof but structures which have to be covered with hay.

Yes I had thought of hay too.but Shacks are a set of meshes in Skyrim, it wouldn't look pretty

I completely agree about hay or perhaps grass turf being the logical addition. But then, apparently not a single person in Skyrim bothered to actually pile hay on the roof grid. Noooo, they all enjoy the feeling of icy rain on their beds, food, clothes and sleeping faces too much. I despair, Bethesda... (As an aside, it took me ages to find a Breezehome overhaul that installs a proper roof. No way is a thane of Whiterun living in a house full of glaring holes that lets the rain right in to soak everything from artifacts to ingredients)

As for the FYX, piling hay or turf on top would be great, but the planks you have here are very nice too. :)
