About this mod
Two pre-fabricated areas for use in your own mods. Contain no gameplay elements, only aesthetic features.
- Permissions and credits
They were built with aesthetics in mind, designed for screenshots and videos for a Dungeons and Dragons game (in which the players may choose one of these areas as their fortress). One will continue to be updated and developed as the campaign progresses (I will release sequential updates) and the other will not, but I don't know which one yet!
TO ACCESS
Neither area has transitions set up.
To access Elvangr Tower, type in the console "cow ElvangrTower 0 0".
To access Suncrest Harbour, type in the console "cow SuncrestHarbour 3 7".
I recommend using "tcl" to explore since I haven't made sure there is possible pathing everywhere yet.
If you use these maps, let me know! I'd love to see what others make with them. Feel free to give credit, but I'm not bothered if you don't.
ELVANGR TOWER
Elvangr Tower would fit right in to any Skryim mod looking for a break from the harsh tundra. It is a tall, ancient tower standing overlooking a glittering lake, in a forested valley surrounded by far-reaching peaks. The scattered remains of an ancient city still stand, half-buried, on the shores of the lake. As the land rises up from the stony shores, dense pine forests and trickling streams blanket the mountainsides. A wide meadow lies to the south of the tower, with a glacier looming over sunny grassland. To the north, a small pool offers a tranquil place to camp and take respite. The water is cold and clear, fed by meltwater gushing down from the highlands above. To the east, a narrow valley winds its way up into the snowy glaciers, and steam pools issue and bubble from a dark cave. It is inspired by alpine landscapes, taking a lot of design from Lac Lauvitel.
Abril Theia Lore
The Tower of Elvangr stands solemnly above the shattered ruins of the ancient city of Drakkenheim, whose walls crest the gentle waters of the lake. The mighty Titanpeaks, fully twenty kilometres high, surround the valley like looming giants. Winding fjords and glaciers carve their ways up into the formidable slopes that overlook the tower, and herds of wild Kald roam the grassy meadows grazing and lowing under the sound of their bells. A statue of an old hero, Tanvang Aswulfsen, stands watch over the remains of the home he perished defending.
Elvangr lies at a nexus of ley lines. There is something dark lurking in the ground below the valley; what were those Knights guarding at this place, when the tower was first found? Where did the strange creature come from that we found imprisoned deep below? And what awaits behind that iron door, beyond its seven keyholes that whisper to our dreams in the night?
SUNCREST HARBOUR
Suncrest Harbour might find its place in a mod looking for a place to resemble Summerset, or possibly Valenwood. It is a land locked in an eternal autumn. An ancient harbour once rose from the rocky crags of this island, paths winding their way up the cliffs to a fortress at its summit. Now, the city lies in ruins, its towers crumbled and scattered across the grassy gardens. Most of the old stone structures have kept their shape well enough, and the distinctive white spires can be seen from afar, rising sharp and high above the red-gold treetops. On the lowest level, the remains of the harbour are kept well enough to dock a few boats. A light forest blankets the western side, and the remains of an academy are nestled in a sheltered plateau. On the second level, an old plaza, perhaps where a market was held, has a strange stone resting beneath an ever-pouring fountain. The third level has a thick forest, and a winding path up to the ruined fortress - an excellent place for a boss fight, perhaps? Suncrest Harbour was inspired by traditionally elven designs, such as Rivendell or Summerset.
Abril Theia Lore
The old kingdom of Ilvelon fell centuries ago, but Suncrest Harbour held out until the very end, when its mother tree crashed burning into the waters of the harbour, and its remaining people were scattered, driven insane by their loss. The land remained trapped in the autumn of its fall. The golden leaves stood, dying, but never quite dead. Only the stone ruins still stand, and the stories they hold carved onto their walls and roofs. Suncrest Harbour was a locus of star-gazing, where astronavigators trained at the Astralarium Academy, and astronomancers from all over the world came to gaze upon the glittering Starcore.
Now, it is home only to winged pegasi and their ilk - and the occasional Alfar, the insane remnants of the once-proud people that ruled this place. What secrets await in the Astralarium, and its many hidden and twisting corridors below the ground? Where did the Starcore come from? And what is that thing, that man of stone and vine, that slumbers in the ruins of the fortress?
The Headquarters
As mentioned, one of these two areas will be used in a D&D(ish) campaign as the headquarters for an adventuring guild. The campaign is set in the fictional world of Abril Theia, where pure darkness can consume souls, and ley lines hum across face of the world. Based on the players' choice in upcoming sessions, one of these locations will be developed into a headquarters over time. That means probably adding shops, crafting, stables, towers, walls, etc. If you want these updates, check back here every so often to see how it has changed! If not, feel free to use the base unaltered maps, which I will always make available.
