Great news; the wait is over! All cloaks and backpacks have been re-added to the mod, and seem to be granting protection values in Frostfall.

Wait in-game for 24 hours for vendors to repopulate their supplies, and you'll start seeing these items for sale all over Skyrim.

Huge, huge thanks to Ousnius on Nexus Mods, who single-handedly fixed most of my broken meshes. You are a generous wizard Ousinus!

Attempted removal of this mod results in a corrupted save, even if no campfires exist or with backpack not worn. Can't clean my save with Fahrim Tools when I am not able to load the save without the mod.

Anyone else attempted to surgically remove this? I can't find an uninstall option like in Frostfall.

Or do I really have to extract the BSA file to find the scriptnames to remove all of them manually from my save T-T

Removing Campfire.esm mid-game has been reported to corrupt saves, and SE seems more prone to save corrupting than classic Skyrim. The game is not designed to handle removing plugins that contain scripts or added content. Best to load a save from before installing the plugin you wish to remove. If you don't have an older save, and since Campfire features can be ignored, you could continue playing with Campfire activated.

When looking with FallrimTools, the scripts are prefixed with "_camp" or "camp" or "fallback" and there's also "tentsystem."

Even though Frostfall claims an "uninstall" method, Chesko's site, skyrimsurvival.com, also warns:
As a general note, understand that Skyrim was never designed for supporting the removal of any mod. Therefore, unintended behavior may result.

Rule #1 of Safe Modding: Never EVER remove a heavy scripted mod mid-play!

The ONLY mods safe to remove are ones that add textures and don't have a .esp or .esm plugin

At this point everyone knows that skyrim hasn't been designed for midplay mod removal. Some of us knew that before a Bethesda employee spouted that info out. It was after all somewhat in our faces. With the tools at hand and some common sense this statement is actually less time true and more good for a general guide for new to casual users. There were non issues removing Frostfall and Vivid Weathers mid game, not even after 200h. You just have to do it right. What I am seeking here is a way to removing camfire for the experienced user, if there is any tested method at all.

(( When looking with FallrimTools, the scripts are prefixed with "_camp" or "camp" or "fallback" and there's also "tentsystem." ))
Now THIS is a helpfull reply.
Happy to write a guide if I succeed on surgically removing campfire but open for any tips if anyone succeeded doing it before.

      And there you have it.

Thank you Dracotorre for the script prefixes.
After disabling Campfire in MO2 and cleaning my save from all scripts with the first "_camp" and then "camp" prefixes, assuming that everyone of them actually were from Campfire and not from some other mods, I was able to load my save without Campfire. A save after that was cleaned again with ReSaver and woila. Now to play and see if there are any longterm afteraches.

Daremo069's statement is good advice, but note an empty plugin may be removed and the game won't warn about it missing.

With the tools at hand and some common sense this statement is actually less time true and more good for a general guide for new to casual users ... You just have to do it right.

No, common sense isn't enough. Doing "it right" requires expert knowledge of how the game handles data, and no existing tool properly rebuilds a broken save. Removing references from the save-file only covers limited conditions working like a bandage to get you by, and in some cases removing a reference may cause apparently random instability. Understanding how to edit the save is hard work!

Since Frostfall can be disabled in game and Campfire features can be ignored, it's much less work and safest to leave the plugins activated until starting a new character. That's my advice for the experienced player.

"Removing references from the save-file only covers limited conditions working like a bandage to get you by, and in some cases removing a reference may cause apparently random instability"

Edited saves since Morrowind and I have no idea what you're talking about. As long there aren't scripts that reference something from the data I removed there is NO cause for "apparent random instability". And since you have to remove the mod that requires the core mod that you are about to remove prior - like frostfal before campfire -, here the common sense, there have to be very extraordinary circumstances to cause any issues.

So far there has been no evidence for apparent random instability in my case. I'll happily correct my stance if I find any long term issues in the future with my save. I get it that expert dealing issues on savegame management can be so complex that the safest route for the masses is just to tell them "don't uninstall" and "don't update".. but there is a reason why there is "Script clean" segment in mods with bigger script counts when they update - Legacy of the Dragonborn. Some people can and are willing to deal with complex issues, they just have to ask the right people, listen closely and do it right by following the instructions on point. Even if it means to deal with the consequences, in this case loosing savegame data in the process of learning the ropes.

    I need help!

I can't properly place down any tents. I've tried the large fur tent, 4x bedroll; small leather tent, 2x bedroll, and the small leather tent w/ 1 bedroll. Whenever I am in my inventory, if I press E or click on the tent to place it down, one of two things happens: either A) the tent is placed down but is only aesthetic; I can't interact with it in any way. It also stays in my inventory. Or B) the inventory screen closes and nothing happens.

Also, I made a new tent at the tanning rack to confirm that it wasn't just the ones i already had that were glitched. The new one is glitchy too. I first noticed the mod acting a little weird when I couldn't pick up a tent I had - i.e. I would choose "pack up" but the tent took a looonngg time to disappear. And each time I chose "pack up" while waiting for it to disappear, I would get another tent in my inventory.

I've disabled all other mods associated with Campfire, and I've reinstalled the campfire mod so I don't understand what is going on.

    My load order:

    Spoiler:
    Show

Edit - disabling any mods didn't do anything. However, placing a tent worked perfectly fine when I loaded an earlier save game, before the initial glitch with picking up my tent (mentioned above) happened. I don't understand what happened to glitch my campfire mod in the first place, but I'll just play from the earlier save. If anyone has insight into what caused the glitch, let me know please!

I tried to replicate the glitch by packing up my tent, then repeatedly choosing the "pack up" option during that delay time of how long it takes for your tent to disappear. I couldn't replicate the glitch, however doing the repeated "pack up" gave me multiple copies of the tent in my inventory. I suspect this has something to do with the glitch, but like I said I couldn't replicate it.

First, Use LOOT to sort your load order. it' seriously a mess.
second, did you read the install instruction on any of the pages you downloaded your mods from? Bijin for example, that AIO file is supposed to be Below the other Bijin files and with the AIO active you are supposed to uncheck the esp files from the others (don't deactivate the mods, the AIO needs the resources)
I suggest you go back and look at the install instructions for all the mods. Campfire is actually supposed to be between Dragonborn and the Unofficial Patch.

With the arrival of SKSE64 and now Skyui and MCM menus, the MCM aspect of Campfire now appears in the MCM menus. Unfortunately it's largely unreadable with the mod in its current iteration.
Is there any way I can fix this myself? Thanks!

Chesko plans on updating soon for SkyUI SE according to recent post on www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/7ubave/hi_heres_where_i_am_and_my_plans_for_frostfall/.

If you want to update MCM text yourself now, the idea is to borrow the SkyUI interface files from classic (32-bit) Campfire.bsa file found in the interface folder. SkyUI SE will complain about old versions---disable warnings in SkyUI MCM Advance menu. Remember to remove these loose files on next Campfire update. If you want working hotkeys then you'll need to trick Campfire by creating an empty (header only) "SkyUI.esp" (don't rename SkyUI_SE) and activate. Safe to remove empty plugins at any time. Also install PapyrusUtil SE which Campfire and Frostfall depend on when detecting SKSE.

I've been having a rather awful bug that's been causing my game to CTD whenever I save, and the Papyrus logs point to this mod being the potential cause. Specifically, the last piece of script to run was "[01/26/2018 - 03:18:48AM] [Campfire][ERROR] A catastrophic error has occurred. All threads have become unresponsive. Please debug this issue or notify the author." I don't know how to debug it, so I'm notifying the author. What do I do to fix this so I can continue with my game?

Generally Papyrus log is a poor crash log. That error in the log could be due to some other issue keeping Campfire object placement from running properly. CTD on save may happen if previously removed a plugin. If so, install and activate that plugin then load earlier save-game prior to removing.

Troubleshoot: Try loading an older save and see if can successfully place fires or tents and save game from there without CTD. Try testing on an un-modded or new character with only Campfire activated. Test placing Campfire fire or tent having reasonably snappy blue indicator and save game. If good then activate other plugins and test again until slow blue indicator or CTD.

If you can save the game without CTD, but blue indicator reacts very slow or disappears, you can try going to Options: Campfire -> Advanced and try reducing Max Threads or disabling Adv Placement.

Alright, I'll try. I'll admit, I'm in way over my head with this. I'm just sort of flailing wildly here trying to find the solution, but it does seem to be connected to Campfire as the CTDs started happening a bit after I stopped being able to place objects. So far nothing has worked. I tried turning off advanced placement and reducing the max threads but I still can't place anything and I'm still crashing. I've tried redownloading old mods and restoring previous versions of other mods, but no dice. I'm trying to recreate the bug on a new character now, but I don't know if it will work seeing as the bug on my other save didn't start happening until several hours in, but it's worth it to try. Thank you for the advice. Here's hoping something works.

That is exactly what is happening to me too. I simply can't save anymore and the Fallrim Tools detects 160 unidentified active scripts (with some being terminated by themselves) all of them are related to some camping scripts like campingobjectblabla, campingfactorblabla etc. I am not entirely sure to which mod these scripts relate to but the word ''campfire'' is one hell of a hint.

The actual problem is that even If I remove the unidentified scripts in Fallrim Tools and manage to save my game after that, the scripts just come back.

I know this is a lot to ask and a lot of people use Frostfall and Campfire together which I am thinking of doing for my next playthrough. But would it be at all possible to get a small compatibility patch for Survival to make Campfire work with it, chiefly, the ability to gain rested/remove fatigued from the player while sleeping outdoors?

Apologies if this already been asked, but it would be an amazing thing for me if it could be made to happen.

Sleeping in a bedroll gives the Rested bonus which restores fatigue. The Well Rested bonus to restore fatigue completely requires sleeping indoors in owned or rented bed. Campfire supports this intended behavior with Survival Mode. Is your character not getting Rested bonus? Perhaps I misunderstand.

edit: I'm working on a Survival patch so let me know if there's something I should look closer at.

That patch adds unlit campfire as a warm object. Nothing about fatigue @crgmoore mentioned. I want warm cloaks, tents, and only lit fires to provide warmth so I made myself a Campfire add-on and have been playing Survival a few days.

edit: I see the concern now. "Drained" 40% penalty to magicka and stamina recovery only goes away by sleeping indoors. A nice option might be if sleeping 7+ hours in a sheltered tent would remove the penalty. I will look into this.

Well I have fatigue recovery removing "Drained" working in my WIP Campfire add-on. I put it in a Campfire-style perk so it's like a learned skill along with the requirement of a full 5- or 7-hour sleep in a warm shelter. As I test it I'm also waiting to see updates Chesko makes to Campfire concerning Survival Mode.

Hello! I've been having a bug: CTD when trying to create an item through "Recourcefullness" menu. I mean, sometimes it lets me create an item or two, but most often the game just crashes. I followed the instructions from the earlier posts here on how to make MCM work with Camfire and Frostfall, and it works. I thought, that maybe those files could cause the issue. Removed them, even reinstalled frostfall and campfire (i use MO2), started a new character - nothing helped. It also seems like this Recourcefullness spell lets me create items without an issue BEFORE i start Frostfall.
Please help! Any advice is appreciated!

Update: Frostfall has nothing to do with the problem (uninstalled it for testing). Tried to disable some mods adding items to crafting (armor, cloaks, fursets etc.) - nothing works. I've also noticed that everythings works perfect when i am inside an interior - no ctd at all. Btw these ctds dont happen when using tanning rack, forge or any other crafting stations. Only Campfire Resourcefullness is CTDing. So sad cuz i love this mod.

Have you tried testing on new (or un-modded) character with only Campfire activated and without SKSE64? Also un-do the MCM workaround and check for loose files that shouldn't be in sub-folders, specifically the Scripts folder (don't unpack BSAs into loose files). If then Create Item works outdoors find out which mod may be interfering, or if something went wrong with your SKSE64 install including mods using SKSE. If still fails with only Campfire activated and installed properly then verify your game files.

That Campfire Create Item feature is very stable, so something went wrong.

So, i did what you suggested, literally checked each mod out of my 229, with and without skse and in all possible variations. Guess what? It was Wet and Cold 2.20A1 that caused this bug. Yup, all of a sudden. O_o

Update: 7 hours of gameplay without a single ctd (and all the same mods)! Yay! :D

Every now and then when I pack up mine or follower's tents, either some part or bed will be left on the ground. And the said bed can be interacted with. Sometimes I see a part of fur and lantern left on the ground too when I was using fur tent.

Is it a bug or something of my part? If I recall right, I had this problem in Oldrim years back.

    Any help will be appreciated~

Left behind tent objects is some sort of bug or glitch and has been reported a few times. I've only witnessed it twice, so it's been rare for me. There may be no harm in marking the left-over objects for delete, but both times I decided to be extra cautious and re-load from before packing up tent. Sorry I can't be much more help on this.
