    Great news; the wait is over! All cloaks and backpacks have been re-added to the mod, and seem to be granting protection values in Frostfall.

    Wait in-game for 24 hours for vendors to repopulate their supplies, and you'll start seeing these items for sale all over Skyrim.

    Huge, huge thanks to Ousnius on Nexus Mods, who single-handedly fixed most of my broken meshes. You are a generous wizard Ousinus!

    Hi Chesko just wanted to say Thanks for working on the VR patch. I saw your post from 3 months ago and was excited to see you were working hard on this. I am currently using campfire anyway, currently just cant light a bonfire but i like having the tents anyway. Thanks again!

      I agree! Everything else works great, it's just a lack of fire-starting. GearHeart, have you had any trouble with Frostfall keeping coverage and warmth at 0, no matter what you wear?

    I posted this on the Frostfall page as well:

    I have a strange glitch...  I have the warm water effect on my PC 3 times, each!  (regenerate health, regenerate magic, regenerate stamina.) It regenerates everything including health, all three times.  The health is regenerating +50 X9, on each one.  That is 27 X 50! Making me virtually invincible!  Unless an attack is a one shot kill, I can't be killed, even without any armor! It's baked into my save so I'm stuck with it.  I think it has to do with the campfire perk that makes me more tolerant of cold.

    Edit: Turns out it wasn't Campfire that was causing effect. Another mod's script tripled it's effect instead. This is a great mod!

      Which mod was it because I'm having the same problem, I have a feeling its hardcore difficulty mod. And did it turn out that it was baked into your save? How did you fix it? Thanks if you reply.

      MyHouseatl answered it on the Frostfall page here (post #1771).

      In a nutshell, it turned out to be a bathing mod with duplicated scripts causing multiple active magic effects, called "Warm Water." The hint I provided was to identify which mod by using the console command: help "Warm Water" (first 2 digits of ID represents the load order number of the plugin).

      Campfire v1.11 does not include files to support MCM. Until official update you may ignore MCM and use spells instead (Options: Campfire). Unofficial workarounds exist, but comes with the risk of losing support from Chesko. If you do not use "Frostfall" I would recommend just ignoring MCM until Chesko posts the update.

    Hi,

    Hoping someone can give me some assistance. Been getting a lot of ctd's and I'm trying to track down the culprit. I have a pretty extensive mod list, so I know that may be the issue, but its been working fairly well. I enabled logging to try and see whats happening when I crash and over about 20 tests I get the same repeated message at the end of the logs.

    "[None]._Camp_WoodChoppingFurnitureScript.OnUpdate() - "_Camp_WoodChoppingFurnitureScript.psc" Line 19
    [07/14/2018 - 06:09:41AM] Error: Unable to call PlayAnimation - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type
    stack:
    [None].DLC1TrapPoisonBloom.PlayAnimation() - "<native>" Line ?
    [None].DLC1TrapPoisonBloom.OnUpdate() - "DLC1TrapPoisonBloom.psc" Line 197
    [07/14/2018 - 06:09:41AM] Warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp23"
    stack:
    [None].DLC1TrapPoisonBloom.OnUpdate() - "DLC1TrapPoisonBloom.psc" Line 197
    [07/14/2018 - 06:09:41AM] [Campfire][Warning] Invalid registration detected. You should run 'ClearInvalidRegistrations' from the console while playing using SKSE in order to fix this."

    This is repeated dozens and dozens of times. As far as I could track down, it appears the camp wood chopping script is added by Campfire. Now I am not a modder, this is one of my first attempts at a modded playthrough, so I am not really familiar with anything, picking it up as I go. Just hoping someone can give me some guidance on what, when, how, where, why, anything to get me pointed in the direction of fixing this. Thanks in advance.

      Did you uninstall / de-activate a mod? One that happened to add wood chopping blocks to the world? If so (and you're using SKSE64), do what the log says: use console (~) and type in 'ClearInvalidRegistrations'

      De-activating a plugin having chopping blocks would certain cause this. (Uninstalling mods mid-game should generally be avoided except by experienced modders or big risk-takers.) It's possible another error could lead to similar logging, so if you didn't remove a mod then I might need to see earlier log entries and know exactly what actions performed when crash occurs. Realize though, in general Papyrus logs make terrible crash logs. For longer logs you may put your log inside spoiler tags (see Nexus BBCode page).

      I appreciate the response, and the link. I was unsure how to use the spoiler tags so I just took a bare snippet of the log. I actually have removed some mods, more than a few. I started with something like 160 mods (I'm a go big or go home kind), but I've had to remove 10'ish due to conflicts I didn't foresee. So far I haven't seen any issues arising from it, as none of them we're big overhaul mods. Mostly a few small quest mods like Carpathian Inn, and some terrain mods like Gardens of Whiterun (from the Bethesda mods). I've actually had to restart a character once, which I somewhat expected, the risks of modding I suppose. But if I have to restart again I'd just like to get all the big game breaking bugs out first lol. I did put quite a bit of thought into the load order and tried to account for conflicts but.... I am using skse, skyui, I have a wrye bash patch, I used Nexus mod manager for the downloads, and I also use loot for load order.

      Mod list
      Spoiler:
      Show

      I did try that console command, but when I did it gave me a no script found error message. It is possible I was mistyping something, so I will try again. To be honest, it seems to me that it has something to do with the chopping blocks. More specifically, I tried removing all my gear (its chilly in whiterun) and chopping wood, and that seemed to go fine. When I put my backpack back on, my character correctly chopped wood, and the axe dissapeared from the backpack as he did, but right when I cancelled the chopping and the axe needed to re-appear on the backpack, the game ctd'd. I need to test this to see if this is the direct cause, but based on what the logs say, that's my guess atm. I'm just not sure if it is simply fixable by starting a new character, or if theres more discrepencies or load order issues or something else that may need to be fixed first. And, of course, if at all possible I'd like to avoid restarting if I don't necessarily need to.

      Here is my latest papyrus log in its entirety as well.

      Nice details. Looking at the Papyrus log I don't see anything obvious other than what we already guessed at: that error likely due to a removed mod that does something to chopping blocks. If that command doesn't work then try to identify the missing mod and re-install it. You could also try using FallrimTools ReSaver to clean the save. No idea if it will help in this case.

      It looks like you're doing some careful review of your mods, I think you'll do well if you decide to start over again with new character. Starting fresh with the mods you truly want to keep is a good way to go.

      Since you're using SKSE64 and SkyUI SE for better Campfire + Frostfall compatibility double-check you have latest PapyrusUtil SE and consider Shtaag's Unofficial Campfire + Frostfall patch which is based on my workaround guide found at www.dracotorre.com/blog/frostfall-se-skse64/ if you just want to read for some perspective.

      Hi, only 128 mods :)
      Was scrolling thrue your mod list and saw some small things that you better sort out now so you can have a good new playthrough. I would suggest to have a look at SEPTIMS loadorder and installation order tips.
      Ebonvale and followers has for me never worked, also tons of other problems with it , nav paths etc. CTD's. So for me It had to go, since I use tons of followers and addon homes :) Since you also have open citys I assume you done all the needed patches.
      AFT you have specialeditionfollowers they need to be above AFT if they are standard Vanilla follower, as they are if I remember correct. SOFIA and INDIGO need to be below AFT. This will give you problem later in game if not fixed. If you have assigned any of them as follower yet you need to unassign them and reset AFT before you change load order. Loot is good but has limitations when it come to AFT and most immersion mods that have special requierment for som other mods.
      Hope you get it all working.

    I'm getting an ingame message that I'm using a legacy version of Frostfall, but I don't have any version of Frostfall installed. Is there a reason for this? And can it be fixed?

      This misleading message is generally caused by a bad SKSE installation, or if starting game without SKSE64 loader. Review your SKSE64 installation verifying all script files are present (specifically Game.pex exists in Scripts folder and no other mod overwrites). Also install PapyrusUtil SE which is required for SKSE with Campfire. After that if message still displays try re-installing Campfire making sure to leave the BSA-file intact (do not unpack).

      The author is aware of the message mistakenly mentioning Frostfall and should be fixed in future update along with proper SKSE64
      and SkyUI support. Still, an installation issue causes this confusing message to show.

    I've been having a problem with advanced placement of campfire items, especially tents and fire but sometimes others as well. This has happened on several new playthroughs and takes several hours of play to start happening. When I first start a new game, everything works just fine but as time goes on, placing tents and fires starts lagging, then the ghost object won't follow, then there is no ghost object the regular one just pops in after a while with the usual "place here" option except that it doesn't respond when I try to select it so I can't choose to place or cancel the placement, and finally, nothing happens when I try to place an object but if I try again later it will tell me I'm already placing an item.

    With each play through it takes less and less time for this problem to start occurring which seems really odd to me. The first time, I was about 20 hours in. Now, the 5th time, it's barely 4 hours in.
    I have the unofficial SSE update and SSE Engine Fixes. I have tried reducing the number of threads and then turning off advanced placement altogether. No luck. I've tried changing my load order, I use xEdit to patch my horrendous number of mods, I've tried removing some of the more script heavy mods.. nothing seems to be helping.

    Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I just need a place to start. It seems like it might be a scripting issue to me (i.e. too many scripts running) but I don't know if that actually makes sense. It takes so long for the problem to start occurring that I'm hesitant to do the typical deactivate-one-mod-at-a-time-until- it's-fixed routine since that could take aaaaaages.

    I also posted this question to the unofficial SSE update page in case anyone there could help but I haven't gotten a response yet. It's only been a couple of days though. In the meantime, I am going to try running a game with JUST campfire/frostfall and see if the problem persists.

    Thank you anyone who can help in advance! At this point, even just knowing I'm not the only one would make me feel a little better. XP

      Could be script lag. The placement script is written fairly well, but it depends on timing so lag may cause it begin failing too often and give up. This question has come up once or twice before, so I did a quick forum search. Perhaps another post will provide clues.

      Here's a similar topic discussion from April: forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4982985-campfire-complete-camping-system/?view=findpost&p=58960581

      A player mentioned re-installing Campfire fixed placement issues. forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4982985-campfire-complete-camping-system/?view=findpost&p=46222000

      Thank you so much! i have the worst skill at forum searches. I've been working on this for weeks and I never saw/noticed that post. X_x.... (The first one) I'm sure it will be helpful. Unfortunately, I don't really understand how to do what it's talking about.

      Do you know where I can go to learn how to do things like checking if another mod is taking up processing, or tell if "something odd is getting loaded up (or something no longer exists on that 5-minute before save) that takes 5 minutes to become noticeable" ?

      The post also suggested:
      If you suspect lag, *look for two mods updating same or similar functionality*. Watch for feature-creep from script-heavy mods

      but I don't know how to do that. Thank you again, I appreciate it so much!

      Start by reading mod descriptions and ensure all mods installed properly. Get an idea of what features might be doing including player-action versus constantly updating something. Does the feature duplicate a feature of another mod? Being aware of features may help narrow down suspects to avoid having to de-activate / activate one mod at a time. Test by disabling features or avoiding conditions such as going indoors or away from NPCs.

      Starting with fewer mods like you're doing then activating more is a pretty good method. It will at least ensure Campfire is installed and running properly. If using SKSE64 also realize more to Campfire installation and risk since Campfire v1.11 doesn't support SKSE. For SKSE, both Campfire and Frostfall need PapyrusUtil SE.

      where I can go to learn how to do things like checking if another mod is taking up processing

      I'm a programmer so I cheat by reading the scripts. Otherwise read descriptions, read bug reports, and observe in game.
      "something odd is getting loaded up (or something no longer exists ...

      This doesn't sound like your issue since yours is repeatable. Specific to after loading a save then tent-placement problem starts happening - possibly the save happened under conditions a mod couldn't handle or the mod was de-activated.

      If your game crashes at start-up at or before the load screen: make sure you have Campfire for SE. BSA files for 64-bit Skyrim SE and 32-bit Skyrim are different and the wrong BSA format will crash the game. Do not unpack the BSA files, though. Note the zip-file name of Campfire and Frostfall downloads to be sure you have the correct versions.

      If crashing after loading your game then try Campfire without Frostfall or other Campfire add-ons to be sure Campfire is working. Test build a campfire and place a tent. Then try with Frostfall activated.

      Lastly, if you're using SKSE64 be aware Campfire v1.11 and Frostfall v3.41 do not support SKSE64 + SkyUI SE. They'll work without crashing, but some in-game features will not function as expected without installing additional files. (At minimum PapyrusUtil SE is required). I recommend playing without SKSE64 or wait until Campfire and Frostfall are updated for SKSE64 + SkyUI SE. There exist unsupported workarounds to get SkyUI features working.

    Hi guys. I'm having a bit of an odd problem with Campfire. Pretty basic: the mod seems to be locked on the 'realistic' campfires. I want the 'quick' mode, which allows you to just put the campfire down and start it up, without having to add tinder and fuel and everything (not too viable when you're seconds away from freezing to death).

    I am running SKSE64, I have a pretty short mod list, and everything is otherwise working together just fine. The weird thing is that the first few times I made a campfire (when I started the new run), and set it to 'quick' it worked fine, letting me just start the fire with nothing but some wood. I think that worked two or three times. Then there was a stretch where I didn't use it for a few levels, and now it's stuck on 'realistic'. The mod is set to 'quick', both in the MCM (which I know is missing the translation file but I can still see and click on the option) and from the menu opened up by the 'resourcefulness power. Setting it to 'quick' (the option it's already on) changes nothing.

    The mod itself still works fine, save for that. Campfires go down just fine and everything. And Frostfall is definitely working, as my frozen state will attest.

    In the period between the change I did download a few mods, but I can't imagine they would have any effect on Campfire. They are: Dragon Stalking Fix, KS Dragon Overhaul and accompanying patch for Thunderchild, and Simple NPC Outfit Manager. The problem was happening well before the two dragon mods. I can't remember the timing of the other one. However, I'm not using any followers or follower mods, so I can't see how this could be connected.

    Any ideas on what's going on or what I can do?

      Use the Options: Campfire Power and toggle lighting-method to Realistic then back to Quick. That should fix it. If that fails to fix, look in your Data\SKSE\plugins\CampfireData\ folder and remove the JSON files. Then use the Options spell again to toggle Realistic then Quick.

      What might be happening is that Campfire is getting confused with SKSE (which Campfire v1.11 doesn't fully support) causing your profile to become out of sync with your chosen setting. You should be fine just toggling via power spell (not MCM), but I recommend installing a mod tool both Campfire and Frostfall depend on for SKSE:

      Install PapyrusUtil SE - this also fixes Frostfall armors zero-warmth problem.

      Optional: if you have some experience installing loose files and want your MCM profile settings to actually work (load and save settings) then you may get Chesko's updated scripts for SKSE64 + SkyUI SE: See my guide Step 5: Option 1 (www.dracotorre.com/blog/frostfall-se-skse64/#step5) for which files to get from Chesko's GitHub. Remember to remove these loose files when you install the official Campfire and Frostfall updates.
