Idk. I had some issues with it, specifically with ae fishing and useep. Newer version helps, get it here: https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/13451-xlodgen-terrain-lod-beta-101-for-fnv-fo3-fo4-fo4vr-tes5-sse-tes5vr-enderal-enderalse/
everytime I use this it says that I don't have Skyrim special edition, no updates and I've opened and closed the game and redownloaded it, nothing changes, this also happens with dyndlod, I don't have anniversary edition downloaded, it is for sure special edition and I'm just hoping for help to fix this, thanks
It checks registry keys created by the official game launcher. If they are missing, you are either using pirated version or something broke in your system.
its definitely not pirated, unless steam sold me a pirated copy of Skyrim, which I doubt/ hope not, and I've checked everything, I've redownloaded, I even deleted all of the files that were left behind on my pc when I deleted it and redownloaded everything, I've verified it and still nothing changed, do you have any actual suggestions?
i took screenshots of the errors but I can't send them for some reason, but ill retype them out Fatal: could not open registration key: \software\bethesda\softworks\skyrim special edition\ this can happen after steam updates, run games launcher to restore registry settings (and yes I have done what this suggested about 30 times actually, and nothing) and than after that error it opened up the sselodgen menu saying this SSELODGen 3.2.1 starting session 2023-08-18 00:34:49 Using Skyrim Special Edition Data Path: Using ini: Fatal: Could not find ini
how can I fix this? I even tried verifying files again and it did say something was missing and it fixed it, but apparently it wasn't this, what am I supposed to do, I can just magic a new registry setting, so how do I fix this issue
Looks like launcher can't update registry for some reason, again something is wrong in your system. Use command line parameters to specify game path manually. https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/2-overview.html#CommandLineSwitches
The command you wrote in the post seems correct if the D: drive exists.
However, it is unclear what "having lo luck" is supposed to mean. You also have not posted the SSELODGen log or shown/screnshotted the actual settings in Vortex. If Vortex is not working, you should ask for help on the forum/comments for Vortex.
The setup is similar to https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Tool_Setup:_xEdit
Mybe someone can help me: i installed it with MO, i run it and everything loads... inside the game, the trees arent showing (the lod) i assume i still dont have "someting" installed, like a set of lod trees or something which i have no clue where to find or where to install.
All of my Lod has turned moss green. Icebergs/Mountains/buildings everything.
I've been looking through post after post and can't find anything related to my issue.
Has anyone ran into this problem before?
EDIT**** This was not a DynDoLod/TexGen/Xlodgen issue. The reason I was getting Green lod's had something to do with my INI settings. What setting I'm not sure but I reset my ini's to default and it fixed it.
Does this also generate textures? I use it before running DynDOLOD for terrain LOD - But I noticed my landscape lod textures are missing, xLODGEN's output did not contain any textures. I want to see if this is what it is before running DynDOLOD again
The log messages show what LOD files are being generated according to the settings you choose. Without any information/logs nobody can answer what was generated.
Regardless of what is being generated, the vanilla game already has terrain LOD meshes and textures in the vanilla BSA files. If the game is not showing them, it is typically because of INI settings/mods/load order etc.
I'm running into a few notes when I run xLODGen, and I don't know why I am or how to fix it. The notes are all related to tree objects. I'm working based on the vanilla game for trees right now as I am testing the LOD with seasonal landscapes, but I will be eventually when everything with my landscape mods run smoothly. I don't want to run into bigger issues when downloading and creating LOD for more mods. The notes are as follows:
Note: TreeAspen01 [TREE:0006A9E6] LOD not found Textures\Terrain\LODGen\Skyrim.esm\TreeAspen01_0006A9E6.dds Note: TreeAspen02 [TREE:0006C9D5] LOD not found Textures\Terrain\LODGen\Skyrim.esm\TreeAspen02_0006C9D5.dds Note: TreeAspen03 [TREE:0006C9D4] LOD not found Textures\Terrain\LODGen\Skyrim.esm\TreeAspen03_0006C9D4.dds Note: TreeAspen04 [TREE:0005FADA] LOD not found Textures\Terrain\LODGen\Skyrim.esm\TreeAspen04_0005FADA.dds Note: TreeAspen05 [TREE:0007614B] LOD not found Textures\Terrain\LODGen\Skyrim.esm\TreeAspen05_0007614B.dds
And so on for every vanilla tree object. Do I need to use TexGen first to create the billboards or is there something else that I'm missing?
I'm pretty new at modding so still trying to figure out the more complex stuff, so any help will be greatly appreciated!
As explained on the description, tree LOD generation requires billboard textures to be installed. The log messages are reporting that textures for those trees were not found.
I see! So, I should basically just ignore this and load TexGen and DynDOLOD afterwords for the actual billboards and objects. Thank you so much for clarifying!

I'm on vortex and it is not working, is there a mistake there?

The above answer to this question is still the same as it was in July last year.
Background Loader: Too many plugins selected. Adding 613 files would exceed the maximum index of 254
Use a recent version of SSEEDit, xLODGen terrain LOD beta or DynDOLOD. Use a modding guide.

If you are using xLODGen terrain LOD beta, read Terrain-LOD-Readme.txt included in its download archive, check https://dyndolod.info/Help/xLODGen if you are using it before DynDOLOD and ask questions at https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/13451-xlodgen-terrain-lod-beta-98-for-fnv-fo3-fo4-fo4vr-tes5-sse-tes5vr-enderal-enderalse/

However, instead use TexGen and DynDOLOD - the easier and improved version of xLODGen for object and tree LOD generation and xLODGen for terrain LOD generation beforehand. See https://dyndolod.info/Help/xLODGen, https://dyndolod.info/Generation-Instructions, https://dyndolod.info/Help/Seasons.
