v2.0 includes a new script that accurately checks if the dragonborn is in a location that is a child of a sketch location now, which fixes the problem where some sketches were nearly impossible to complete despite standing in the correct location. I have discontinued support for the critical hit "Lay of the Land" buff, as it seemed unpopular.
To update: Count how many sketches you have completed. Uninstall version 1, and install version 2. Open the console (~) and type "set SketchesCompletedGlobal to x" (where x is the number of sketches you have filled out in the book).
Sorry for the delay all, PC died and I kinda lost interest in modding for a while, but we back.
this is really fun i like this thank you! would someone consider adding more areas to sketch or another whole book for example shrines of daedra and other deity's like the wintersun? or even one day a bestiary for creatures you come across? a lot i know but it would be a blast to collect. also unique places from relics of hyrule would be sweet too.
A field guide series written by the Prisoner is sorta in the works and has been for a while. I made pictures already for all alchemy ingredients, plants, and fishes, I am kinda stuck on the animals though I think I will have to make the pictures myself somehow in nifscope or something. Then I have done "writeups" or whatever for all the fungi. The dynamic book is cool but it really is a lot of tedious repetitive renaming of items and quest aliases in the creation kit which I'm dreading.
i understand the dreading. i get to figure out why my game doesn't work all the sudden. i wish there was teams dedicated to fix modded skyrim playthroughs. id pay the subscription.
This mod is so great. I wish it didn't make cell edits by the standing stones, it's tough to fit on top of premade modlists, but it's one of my favorite mods of all time. Thank you for sharing it with us!
All it does it add a single book to the world. If you were so inclined you could use Base Object Swapper to move it around or simply just drag it somewhere else in the creation kit. There has to be a physical copy of the book due to the way quest aliases work. It is compatible with ryns standing stones, the book is just on the ground somewhere.
With BOS it would look like: [Transforms] SketchbookRefID|PosR(0,100,0)
To lift it up 100 units for example (6' ~= 128 units)
This is so cool! I can't wait to try it. :) I was wondering though, would you consider bringing back the critical chance option? I like having my character have the same speeds as NPCs. Thank you again for the awesome mod!
unfortunately, I just don't really have time to manage 3 versions of the mod. There is a version with no bonus tho, so you can still fill in the book, even if there's no reward you still get a nice picture book out of it.
This is a nice idea, and I have installed this mod for my previous game. But I noticed something that turned me off. I have to be on the EXACT location and EXACT angle to which the 'hints' are portrayed in the sketchbook, or else the pictures will not register.
I found it too time-consuming to perfectly position my player at the location, and decided to uninstall this mod for my new play through.
i tried but it wasn't letting me do anything. I'm using vortex and it was a yellow warning that didn't let me select anything. it acted like i could only have one or the other. I've never seen that before.
Would there be any possibility of a patch for an alternative location for the sketchbook please? I love this mod but now I use Ryn's standing stones - the sketchbook isn't there any more and I see from old comments that it can't be added with the console.
Thanks, that was nice of you, but I forgot I have another mod called Place of Power that changes the area around the standing stones as well as Ryn's. The book doesn't seem to be anywhere near the stones that I can see.
Should be easy enough to drag the book somewhere else in the ck. I'll consider making a patch, don't know a good spot where you wouldn't encounter the same problem, any suggestions?
Thanks very much for considering a patch, that'd be amazing. Maybe the entrance to Embershard mine, so it's clear of any standing stone edits altogether? Like on top of a barrel or mine cart there.
I don't know if this is useful to know at all, but I now think it's Lux Via that's messing with the book at Ryn's standing stones. I've disabled a whole lot of the landscape elements and flown around with freeflycam. The book doesn't seem to be there, but there are various candles from Lux Via in the spot I'd expect it to be (using the screenshot of the moved location). It's very possible that this all proves I have too many mods already, but this one looks so good.
If that's the case wouldn't slapping this mod lower in your load order fix it? My CK updated and I'm still on an older version of the game so might take me a bit to make a patch

Glad you enjoy!

Thanks anyway. Like I said, it is a great idea.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/66080?tab=images - french translation has a pic of the location. Hope you can find it!
