Issues with SAM Light / SOSAM - new patches will be made!
Possible seam with High Poly Head See below for fix until I get perms for a patch.
F.A.Q.
Q: Why are there still seams sometimes? A: Exposed skin like the chest and arms are actually part of an armor/clothing item mesh. Sometimes the shaders on these meshes do not have the appropriate values for specularity, which can lead to seams. A few vanilla outfits suffer from this issue. I am looking into making a patcher to help with this. You can edit the values of the offending outfit in NIFSkope to make sure they match malebody_0.nif.
Also, if from the main menu you COC to a location, the game will not load tint for the head until you save and reload! Keep this in mind. If you fire up the game, type COC Riverwood, you will have a miscolored head/body. Load an existing save, or save/reload and the tint will kick in. The same is true for RaceMenu when you change certain headparts. The skin tint will revert and mistmatch until RaceMenu is closed.
When in doubt, strip of all clothing to inspect for seams!
Q: Placeholder A: Answer!
High Poly Head Fix
High Poly Head will have a seam because it changes the default spec/gloss values on the NIF. To revert these to vanilla, and thereby remove any seam with Skysight Skins, set the following BSLightingShaderProperty values on HPH's malehead.nif:
Glossiness: 33 Specular Strength: 2.69
The seam will no longer be visible. I'm awaiting permissions to include a patch directly in the FOMOD.
Hello, i have a few question, if i install both TNG and HIMBO (HIMBO overwrite TNG) which body type should i choose? Also, for the HPH fix, where i can find the head nif and how to edit it? Thanks
I don't suppose you will ever do the beast races I guess? I asked you a few times as early as several years ago and you either didn't respond or the answer was kind of avoiding the question (not sure which one). There are literally NO good mods for that :(
There's a reason why there aren't many mods, it's really hard! Kudos to the original character artists at Bethesda.
It's something I'd like to get to but will need some solid time to work on. I think in the order of priority most people want a female version of this, so that may come next.
Oh interesting, thank you! I talked to some folks on the VectorPlexus Discord and they pointed out that numerous patches are up on Nexus so it should be fine since it requires the original mod. I'll update the installer this weekend.
Hello new update looking amazing! However for SAM Light and SOSAM there seems to be a massive seam at the thigh and feet area, and the nipple textures dont align with the nipple morphs.
Hi just so you know people don't really use regular SAM anymore; SAM users have moved onto SAM Light or SOSAM by SavrenX, but thank you for looking into it, your work is amazing.
https://mega.nz/folder/sT5H1bTB#DlGIysDISTI6hWt16A7rMA VectorPlexus.com is currently broken but someone was kind enough to upload all the files onto this mega folder, just incase you have trouble finding installations for the body files, thank you for your hard work.
Hi, @fadingsignal I'd like to just add a bit more info in case you are not familiar with SAM, just fyi.
The most updated version most use for SAM should be the high-poly version that has better nails (the nails have their own texture), so it would be great if you could base the patch out of this one.
SOSAM is just SAM light with SOS pp so the textures for it should be exactly the same as SAM light but the pp textures are separated like SOS
Tysm for bringing this update, and much more for making a patch for SAM!
Been using v1.1 for a while along with SOS patch. I downloaded v2.0, selected the SOS option and created a new mod that replaced the old one (using MO2 of course). Suddendly, I begun experiencing freezes at any given time. Especially during NFSW scenes. I reverted back to 1.1 + SOS patch and freezes went away. One of the strangest issues I have come across in all my Skyrim / FO years.
Hmm that's odd, these are just textures so it's kind of hard to imagine what could be going wrong. But definitely noted, I'll keep my eyes out for any other reports.
Can you try one of the lower resolutions just as an experiment?
Thx for answering. My bad, did not tell you I am already using the performance option... Usually in Skyrim, freezes (no CTD) are caused by mods that rely on dll to function. Like SOS... Maybe the new SOS patch does not play well with certain SOS variants (there are quite a few of them around)
Thanks. Just one thing. In MO2 it shows conflict between your mod and bijin skin mod. The file that conflict is blankdetailmap.dds. Is it really important which one win the conflict?

I am talking about whole body and not just feet
